Party at Catz Thursday 20th March.
HILLY replied to HILLY's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
Yep that is why I sent you a PM 15 minutes ago. -
Thursday saw a party at Catz after 20 golfers played in the Catz Invitational golf tournament at Burapha that is held every year in March. Not really a golf post and of more interest to party goers so I hope the mods don't mind it in the open section. It was a great night with the Bob Palmers party food, great Tandori chicken and a skewered porker with many of the girls opting for similar treatment later I suspect. I will let the pictures do the talking and please excuse the poorer quality of some photos as I used 2 cameras. Here goes then. Enjoy. I had agreed to take three of the caddies with us. And one turned out to be an old friend who is more than just a caddy for Mark. Some of the girls getting ready for a show. One on the left is a real favourite of mine and some French guy. lol Some more general shots. Cute as a button. Even Winnie has one. Sar has to be one of the best mamasans in town. Callum having Norwegian lessons A little shy. Or was it pissed? That will be pissed then.Notice the missing glass. Caddies getting happy. sf-dude thinking about his futures. Girl on left has two but you cant see them here. Gnar hoping she has one and does not have to sleep three in a bed at my place. That is three caddies, not what you are thinking. This greedy B....... has several. They have each other and love is a wonderful thing. Watch the hand! Drinks like a fish. Then it was time for the presentation. Mark with caddy still in tow receives his well deserved prize. Some Norwegian caddy pilferer. He won the longest drive and was part of the Norwegian contingent. Great bunch of lads and hope you all had a great time with the weather not being to cold back home. From now on it gets a bit boring though. Chicago bob wins the mystery partner prize. Chicago Bob wins the nearest the pin and a box of Microskin Condoms. Chicago Bob wins the best player of the day with 44 Stableford points after the other players agree not to lynch him. Well done Bob and that was the round of his life. Notice the "up yours" look on his face? Chicago bob with all his loot. All the players. A bloody good day on the course. Thanks to Callum and Wi for all the arrangements and Robin and Robert for a another memorable night. Then is was time for a show but unfortunately I can only show the the pics from the opening scenes here. One last photo. Mark's caddy did not get her man and ended up over a grating on Second Road. Good choice mark. Here are the caddies again on my balcony at 3pm the next day.

I suppose that makes me an arsehole except that I dont have to ask for an ash tray as I am given one if it is not there already which in most bars it is now. When the law becomes the law, if ever it does, then I and others will abide by it. Until then I will be an arsehole. Signed Arsehole.

David Grey and East Coast Real Estate. Have used him many times and he is a true gent.

That price for Pro V's sounds very good John. I have favourite shops I use like this but best I have ever found is 700 Baht. There used to be a big ball shop on the way to Khow Kheo and they sold them for 1000 Baht for a big 20 pack but they closed.

Is Thai Capital to be changed, could be also big changes
HILLY replied to Dr Mick's topic in Expat Issues
When I first came to LOS over 20 years ago there was talk of the capital sinking and eventually having to be abandoned but they just dug more canals and drained it. Last year The King allowed flood water to be sent East and North to alieviate flooding in Bangkok and that is not the first time. Engineers will solve the problems unless global warming causes bigger tidal seas rises and then who knows but for sure IMHO the teacher is pretty wrapped up in gossip and listening to her friends who must be doing the same. -
Right on all counts and Tony is a good mate. Hard to find any better in town and they have done loads of good work for me. This is very routine stuff for them also. I have taken the liberty of giving Tony a link to this thread so he might respond personally soon.

bangkok golf and fishing
HILLY replied to fisherman194's topic in RideHer Cup Planning and Discussion
Sorry but missed the freshwater bit and yes it is good in the lakes but you need a guide for sure as the technique is very different to anything you might have seen before. -
I go home and it's free.lol

bangkok golf and fishing
HILLY replied to fisherman194's topic in RideHer Cup Planning and Discussion
Being a fisherman myself LOS does not have world or even village class fishing. If you want the best LOS has to offer you need to do at least a three day two night trip from Phuket to The Similans to find anything half decent. I can put you in touch with the best skipper there if it helps. We just got back this morning from one of Solars Bangkok golf tours. Played Lam Lukka on Tuesday and a great course but it had rained heavily in the night and the course was closed to buggies except on cart paths. That made it a little heavy going but a great day. Takes about 1.15 minutes from central Bangkok but we went straight from Pattya with a 3.5 hour drive to the course. The Alpine yesterday where buggies are not allowed on the course but you have to say it is in superb shape and don't be detered by 480 Baht for four Hagan Daas ice creams as Solar will pay anyway. Seriously, get in touch with Solar for Bangkok golfing. -
This could be a move towards the non personal system they have been talking about where applications can be made by post and email to a central office without the need for interviews. Personally I cant see it working but if it did then a great move for some of us.

Nice try Paul but Andy got itchy feet and had to say.

Agree and TT&T are much better. There is Internet problems at the moment with connectioms in Thailand and they are working on them they say.

And of course make sure that it is owned in the name of a falang and not a Thai name to ensure that you are buying a place within the percentage allowed to be owned by falangs. Good luck but you should not need it.

I think that the rules on this changed but under the old rules the Tor Tor 3 was essential from your bank to prove that the funds came from outside Thailand and without one you could not buy a condo.

Spicy Girls "pre-house-moving" party! Dec 21 st.
HILLY replied to plahgat's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
Guessing yet another boys bar in the offing then. -
If I could add them they sure would but a few wives might not be so happy.
-
True but if you want it registered in your name you need a letter from immigration and you cant get that without the proper visa and after filling in the residency forms.

As far as I am concerned PS2 is not the Soi it used to be and the only reason for me to ever go there nowadays is Mistys still. Some nights it has a lot of good girls and some nights not much to write home about. lol. But that is the same with most bars. One thing I always say about Mistys is that I always get a decent reception and mates to chat with. It is not on my normal route but sometimes I go there just cos I like the place.

Actual exchanges between pilots and control towers
HILLY replied to Menzo's topic in Funnies Section
A quick one from end of the 90's. I was flying a Cesna 310R from Melbourne to Sydney Bankstown and contacted tower to advise I was leaving the area. Australia were in the middle of thrashing England at cricket. Tower: Have we got Limey's up there? Me: Roger that tower! Tower: Well get you arses back to Melbourne mate. Your team needs you! -
Lobert in a count back of 40 points with Paul and Big Brian in 2nd and 3rd.

5pm and I just got out of bed. This was a traumatic experience for us Euros as we got well trounced but USA who admittedly had to rely heavily on other nations to field a team.lol Great day out though and a good party in the bar last night. Anyway I cant talk any more about it as I am still too upset.lol
