  1. I am moving over to LOS (Patts) at the end of Feb 1st week in March and as an average over a year will be looking at about the same budget. On my previous visits I have regarded them as holidays and as such was out drinking most nights, BF 5 nights out of the 7, eating out etc. however when I move there I will not be treating it as a holiday but as moving to live there and as such my expenses will drop. When I have come over with a friend my expenses have been as much as 10,000B per day! No way I could sustain that! You will save money like this i.e. I doubt I will be out every nig
  2. I have to say that Barriefs' story had me in tears. You did the right thing all the way along and I dont know how I would have coped. Thank you for sharing and good luck to you in your life from now on. Take care Paul
  3. An interesting post. I do believe however that HIV is a real threat and will continue wrapping up.
  4. I would recommend FIREFOX I also like Chrome but you may come across problems with online forms and even forum software like the one used here, so I stick with firefox.

    prices

I think you may be into low season then? however the only price increase I have seen at the moment is hotels, however I am still paying low season rate!
  6. Just to confirm for other boardies.... Yep after 8.30 more like 8.40pm and a brilliant view from the side of the PBG
  7. Cheers Paul, Was unsure about the timing so that helped. Yeah thought that the outside area at PBG would be good.. Paul
  8. Each night at the moment there seems to be a firework display at around 8.50pm is this the usual time? Would the PBG be a good place to view? Thanks for help and info...
  9. Sorry MM, How would I find out about my online access for my Kasikorn account? go into the branch? didnt realise I would have that facility!
  10. Thats reasonable for the Hilton! Checked their site and no availability this week, and no sign of the 2000B offer
  11. I have also heard the same. One idea is that the % may refer to the minimum alcohol content. I have had a couple of nights when I have thought "blimey I feel half pissed!" after only 2 or 3 bottles of beer, conversely also nights when I have sank 10 or more and woke up the next day with no ill effects!
  12. Hi, I think the previous Poster mentioned Siam and not Kasikorn, I have a Kasikorn account and didnt realise if I had on-line access! must pop into my branch and find out...
  13. Boll**ks, have given in and paid to save the hassle! Spoke to the courts and they said there may be a possibility of me being stopped so not worth the hassle.
  14. Have been to Stoke Gifford DVLA and they cannot deal as warrant already issued, have spoken to the courts and they cannot sort quickly so looks as though I will have to travel and cross my fingers!
  15. Thank you for pointing out "transfer £ and not B" I will try that this trip!
  16. Thanks for your responses, Will try and sort Monday before I go and IF they do have their checks, they update their information!
  17. Thank you for your reply, but I did hear a story from a friend of someone getting stopped at Bristol Airport and consequently missing his flight! supposedly a parking ticket. Dont know whether I am being told this to wind me up though! If nobody here on the board has heard of this then I wont worry!
  18. I had a problem earlier this year when I sold a car and have received a letter saying I failed to inform them, long story didnt have access to the address where they sent their warning letters. Still haven't sorted it and have just been handed "Arrest Warning" letter! I have the receipt for the sale and the new keepers details so shouldnt be a problem but don't think I will have time to sort this before I go on the 14th Dec. Do you guys think or have you heard of people being stopped for this kind of thing and missing their flight!
  19. I have a Kasikorn account and my Uk account of course. I only opened the Kasikorn account last trip although I did transfer some money over via internet banking, 100,000B, my bank Halifax charged me nearly £10 and the conversion was low around 46 B I was getting around 50 or 51 B on the street here from the exchanges at that time. Each time I use my UK visa debit in an ATM Thailand I get charged £3 or 150B and the exchange rate is around the Thai Banks ie. Kasikorn rate so at that time 48B. I should add, is Captain Cash the way to go! What do you guys do? or is it not worth worryin
  20. Eva Air arrive 15th December £610 and was happy with that. Had been searching and was thinking may be £700 to £1000
  21. I have a taxi booked from Bangkok to Patts 1000B arriving 15.35 on the 15/12/10 on Eva Air BR68 if anyone would like to share a cab?
  22. Just to re-cap on my thoughts. I first visited PBG in August on my 3 month visit. The staff where I normally sit (at the bar) were always polite and friendly, recognised you on your return and even remembered my or our groups drinks. Things did change at the end of my trip in Oct due to different staff. Overall PBG is probably the most friendly and hassle free bar to relax in Pattaya. A previous poster did make a comment about the freelancers, I find them to be a bit old for me but you can find the occasional "diamond in the rough!"
  23. PBG used to be a favourite haunt of mine also. I found the food to be OK but the staff were excelant! However I came back on the 12th Oct this year after a 3 month stay and pretty much all of the "Good" staff bar girls had left, 2 of them left to live with farang's whilst I was there! Will be back on the 15th Dec Wednesday so hope it hasn't changed that much!
  24. The hotel reviews section is not really up-to-date although alot of old posts. I usualy dont have a lot of time as too busy with the ladies thats why I asked you guys Agoda was helpful though thanks!
  25. I know this question has probably been asked many times! trouble is a lot of the hotel reviews are quite old. Anyway i'm looking for a 2 bed suite in a hotel with swimming pool close to the action any recommendations would be appreciated. Paul
