  1. I'm heading off to Cambodia again and if you are interested in joining in, just let me know. Should be a very fun trip! www.airasia.com has flights and all in it's about 3050Baht return out of Bangkok. My plan is to head into PP, Cambo for a couple of days and then make my way down to Sihanoukville to stay at a guest house owned by a fellow board member, Lemons. Lemons Guesthouse I'm completely flexible with dates and times. Interested??? Mark I did post a trip report from last weeks trip to Cambodia. You can see it by clicking HERE.
  2. My trip report I posted today on Cambodia has completely disappeared?? Mark
  3. I originally posted this on another site. Here it is for you to take a lok at here: These apartments are on Soi LK Metro and just a stones throw from Lolitas. Transportation is at the corner, 7-11, family mart, internet cafes, laundry, etc surround the apartments. I really like the location and have stayed in Soi Baukhow quite a bit on my last visits. I chose Metro Apartments when the owner, Ian, did a post on here saying he now has WIFI in the rooms. Well, he sure does and I'm using it to write this review. Nice bar on the bottom level with free pool tables and the rooms/hallways are
  4. Everyone has different tastes and expectations. I can tell you that all along Soi Bukhow and Soi LK Metro there are tons of hotels and guesthouses that range from 5500B a month on up and all in varying quality and amenities. The best way to find them is to book a hotel for your first two nights in town. Have a walk around the area and go in and look at the various rooms to see what meets your needs. Cheers, Mark
  5. Forest, might have just what you are looking for. She's always been maintained and I think you'll agree she's in awesome condition and roaring to go: Make me an offer I can't refuse? I hate to think of parting with her... Mark
  6. Forest, the Mio's are smaller than a Nuovo and when two guys get on Mio....let's just say they don't look very masculine! I'm told that all the motorbike shops with the excpetion of 3 are owned by the same family and the price is fixed. At the NW corner of Pattay Nua and Sukhumvit there's a Yamaha shop that I've been told provides great service. My mate has bought his last 3 bikes there. At Soi Bukhow and Pattaya Thai is another Yamaha shop and that's where I get my Nuovo serviced. I've been happy with them and they seem to not only be BUSY but provide good service. Hope
  7. When you get in, just get a hotel room for the first couple of nights. Take a walk down Soi Bukhow and into each hotel/guest house. Look at the rooms and see what meets your needs. They range from 5500 baht a month on up.... Cheers, Mark
  8. There's a whole thread on this topic HERE. If you find new Nuovos for 32-42K I'll buy them all! No joke...I'll buy them! Cheers, Mark Use the search function and type in Nuovo, Motorbike, etc and you find many threads. All the best...
  9. Floyd, Am I understanding this correct? 2000 a day for that room 200 baht for breakfast 180baht an hour for internet that's not reliable Cheers, Mark
  10. Mbiggs, the "cheap charlie" area you speak of is changing demographics by the day. BTW, the LK Metropole on Soi Diana is routinly SOLD OUT at their rate. Yes, sold out..... I certainly wouldn't pay it. But, there are visitors coming on 2 week holidays that are paying it. When I stayed in Soi Bukhow I was paying between 8-10K Baht a month and it suited me just fine for month long stays. In fact, I MUCH prefer Soi Bukhow to Soi 7 and 8 actually. Lot's of "local" action. Cheers, Mark
  11. That www.hispeedworld.com is a joke! Put that in your browser and it's the slowest site I've ever tried to get into.... And, to use Thaildisco.net do I have to download Netpumper and Silo? I can't figure out how in the hell to actually HEAR music on that one either. :-( ho hum, Mark
  12. Looking for a site to listen to or download FREE thai music. Any ideas?? Cheers, Mark
  13. Good on ya Pete! I'll post both parts today.....
  14. Ok, I've got a trip report on another Pattaya Board that I'm trying to copy over here. On the other board it was done in 2 parts. I've just tried to upload part 1 of it here and it say's i've exceeded the picture limit. How many pictures are allowed? This trip report was written in 2 parts and has right baout 100 pics in it. Cheers, Mark
  15. OK, and just a few more thoughts... 1- they pound stakes in the ground to set up the soi bukhow market and it's deafening rightou outside your doorstep 2- the enpty dirt lot at night is filled with thai's blasting car stereos and racing motorbikes 3- the beds are harder than chinese algebra I won't continue on with my list as I'm trying to be nice today! hahah Mark
  16. David Pack in the Nova Lodge...he has an office in a small center int he parking lot.
  17. WOW! Look at the website and the price for the size of those rooms is FAR too much for the area! 16 sq meters is a shoebox and the largest room is 26 sq meters...at 16,000 a month! To say he's overpriced would be minimizing the issue and being nice. MANY other choices for rooms at 30 sq meters PLUS starting at 6500K a month to 13K a month surround this hotel....
  18. If you are in AC and want to meet up, just shoot me a PM. I'm looking forward to yet another great trip! Cheers, Mark
  19. Trevor, If you go to Cherry Bar on Soi 8 on any given night you'll find board members in there. "Hammer" AKA Adam is a good host and introduce yourself and he'll intro you to the other members. FLB also has board members in it i'm sure...
  20. Look at the thread titled Best Inn. Room on Soi Bukhao with pool for 5000B a month...

    Dentists

Dave, Go to Int'l hospital on Soi 4 and see Dr. Aree on the 2nd floor in the dental clinic. Outstanding service and she's CUTE!
  22. it's been posted on here before....but, the whole Sawasdee chain is mainly a dump
  23. Robins Nesturant- I had a look at a room there last week. 15K a month and saw the "big loom". Well, I wouldn't want one any smaller for a month stay! They are clean and seem fine but they are SMALL! Stereo- I stayed there one month and moved out. Service was lousy and the entrace to the rooms was filthy, stinky and dirty. It's the back of the bar where they throw all the mety beer bottles and trash so consequently ants, roaches etc all come so drink up the sticky beer all over the floor. Gross! Keerati House- nice rooms and for those that would compare them to Anna Jet, Robins Nesturan
  24. How do you take an 800 baht taxi and bargain down to 800B? And the tolls are 160 Baht....you like sitting in a taxi for an extra hour to save 160baht? That would mean you are comfortable getting paid $4 US an hour!
