buying an appartment or condo in pattaya?
OnMyWay replied to deadman's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
This is a bit like asking how blue is blue! I've heard ranges all the way from 300,000 baht (Nirun condos) all the way up to a million USD $. -
800 Baht from Pattaya to the Airport - OK?
OnMyWay replied to StandIn's topic in Meeting - Cost sharing
I've used the 800B service every time. No hassles and always showed. I paid tolls and gave a small tip. -
I know the one you are talking about. Like the other boardies said, most of these are small hotels and won't have websites. The name is Bri-Enjoy....

Closed and now it's a short time bar called The Bus Stop....

***UPDATE*** The Reefer truck IS NOT for sale. It'll be a cold day in hell when I let that baby go! Cheers, Mark PS. I've gotten alot of PM's about the different beauties pictured above and I'm doing my best to respond to all of them.

LarryST- Thanks for reminding me.... How far is the Residence Garden and can I get there easily at night time? I mean, do the baht bus things go by there for 5 baht still? Are the rooms good? Mark

OK, I've been off this board over the new year holiday and I now have a few questions: 1- I'm considering moving to LOS. What's it cost to live there?? 2- Where are the stunners working? 3- How much should I pay for Long time and Short Time? And how long is a Long Time vs. Short Time? 4- Do I pay 5 baht or 10 baht for a ride on the baht bus? Thanks in advance for all your help guys. I've read everywhere on this board and just can't get answers to these important questions. I can't wait to read this and get to Pattaya.... Mark

Carl, Please spare us.....and have mercy with this topic! Welcome to the board. PLEASE do us all a favor and just do a serch on this topic using the "search" button. This topic gets beat up about every 3 days on here. Absolutley TONS of info and threads on this....just do a search. I'll try and help you...4 posts under yours is on costs to live in Pattaya. Just 4 lines down and in the exact same section you just posted in RIGHT HERE! Cheers, Mark

Ken, Sounds like you've really hit that happy medium! Most people never find it, consider yourself lucky. Seems you've spent some time in CA. I'm originally from Michigan but now from Long Beach, CA. Cheers, Mark

Yes you can.... have fun, take loads of pics and hurry up and do a trip report!

Pssst, Emil....I promised the girls that the number was for my handsum brother!

Don't stop searching at Mercure! That hotel is a long walk from 2nd road on a dark street with some dodgy looking shacks and abandoned boats along the way. If at all possible, find another hotel and only use Mercur if you have to. It's your first trip and that hotel won't be at all convenient for you.

The pictures I post are taken with a Casio Exilim Ex-Z57. It's a 5MP camera that I bought about 3 months ago. It's small enough to fit in pocket, has a LARGE viewing screen that quite bright (very important), on a single battery charge it can take 600 shots with the flash and it also can take video clips. Each digital camera uses some type of memory card. It will come with one that is not sufficient as it'll only hold about 15 pictures. You want video clips and those take up alot of memory. Buy a large memory card. Example, on Ebay a 1GB memory card for this Casio runs $40 - $50. This will let you take several hundred pics or large video files wihtout worrying about running out of memory.

With over 6000 members here do you think you'll get different opinions? :-) They are different and you should at least TRY them both so you can form your own opinion on what you prefer. For me, I like BKK for about a week and then it's off to Pattaya for a long time.

now I gotta ask....what's the monthly rate and how often do they clean the room? Utilities included? Cheers, Mark

Joop, Great pics and what an awesome looking place your friend has. Yet another example why I stayed 4 months in Soi Bauwhow (sp?) when I was last there. You can't find a shop that nice anywhere on Beach road or walking street!

Hotel Btwn Soi 6 and Walking St
OnMyWay replied to wedge95's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I like the Eastiny or Flipper on Soi 8. All those in high season are still only 850... -
Irishman also had hopes of meeting even more expats when he joined the "Premature Ejaculators Club". But his hopes diminished when he arrived and nobody was there: Appears he came too early!!!

Terrenova has good points...you can't live like a tourist. Drinking and going to bars every night will kill you quickly. Remember to rest a lot, relax, see movies, lots of water, etc. There are two expats clubs that meet on Saturday and on Sunday. It's very easy to make a cirlcle of friends in Pattaya. Most people that live there moved as a single person. So, find someone that like-minded and strike up conversations. Make contacts everywhere you go and keep in touch. It's important to select the right friends. If you hang out with guys that don't pay girls that are clearly working or treat staff at places like shit, you will soon be drawing a shit social circle around you. As for girls, I managed to make contact with more than enough that happily wanted to go to MK and have dinner and see a movie with me. I couldn't hang with "high paced/high maintenance" girls that like to go to Tony's or Lucifer's disco each and every night. Also, if you get a girl that you have a friendship with and she starts to exhibit signs of Yabba don't walk away...RUN! Good luck and keep us posted!

That would be the HIGHEST rate I've ever heard quoted for internet use! Holy shit....tell them to stuff it!
-
Guido, A bit small! (bet you've heard that before!) You don't even have to post it to test it. Just click, "Preview Post" instead of "Add Post" at the end and you'll see what it would look like BEFORE it actually posts. Cheers, Mark

Khao Kheo Yesterday. Bizarre Happenings.
OnMyWay replied to HILLY's topic in RideHer Cup Planning and Discussion
Hilly, I typically love your writing and it's always great. You can even make golf sound like such an "action" sport!!! Golfing itself....kind of like watching paint dry! -
valentino, Was hoping for the website so I can quote it when making a reservation....
-
do a search, i stayed and did a review with pics and details on here....and, whatever you are quoted now will change before April, the place is for sale with two agents right now. Whatever you will be told won't be valid later
