Small rooms and dark woodgrain paneling makes the rooms "feel" about 30 years old. In the states woodgrain paneling is reserved for old trailor homes and homes that haven't seen a remodel in 40 years. They are getting the price because they are next to the Sandy Springs. The rooms I've had at the Eastiny on Soi 8 were far better at 750 a night

Jake, You've answered your own question. You had better book now if you can. Last year I left Pattaya on January 1 because I had no reservation and couldn't find a hotel with a room avialable. Emil and I walked all over back streets one day trying to locate a room for me and there were just none to be had. And, in high season at 600B, you will be staying in SHIT I think.

Noisy as hell with beds like a brick. It's right on the Bukaow Market and they pound in stakes for tents on tuesday and friday. The rest of the week, it's empty dirt lot with people parking and blasting car stereos

Allan, I visited both and looked at units in both. VT1 has studios at 32Sq and VT2 has studios at 37Sq is what the Realtor quoted me. Doors being open is great for breeze. But, when you look in each door and the rooms are dirty, overfilled and dishoveled, it's not very inviting. In additon, when smokers open the door to the unit and smoke goes into the common hallway I think most would agree it's unacceptable. Angelo, When you get into town just come here and walk down the soi and stop into each one and ask about availability. There are TONS of rooms lining up and down the soi. You'll find one with a room. Rates are from 350B a night to 700B a night I've seen. Cheers, Mark

I went with a Realtor and had a look at units in View Talay last week. My opinion: The studios are just too damn small and the complex lacks maintenance. Outside it's clean and looks fine. In the hallways you'll see a plethra of different doors; some are junk, some are iron and look like prison and some are just fine. Overall, the lack of uniformity and standards brought the place to junk status for me. Also, the number of people with their hallway doors propped open really was not appealing. When you look in as you pass by you know you aren't living amongst the cleanest of individuals. F

I saw the outside and the sign for it two days ago while riding motorbike. It's near where 3rd Road intersects with South Pattaya Road.... Outside of it looked very nice! Same owner as LK Metropole on Soi Diana and their rooms are of great quality. Cheers, Mark

Steveoman, Sorry to see your thread so "hi-jacked". I'll give your original question a go regarding a room for 8-10K a month on Soi LK Metro. There are tons of new rooms being built all over the area. Getting one NOW is no problem at 8000-10,000 baht. BUT, you are coming in high season and most of them are upping there rates because of demand. EXAMPLE: Metro Apartments is on Soi LK Metro and the rate is 8,000 baht a month there. I was told that beginning September 15th the rate goes to 12,000 baht a month but they were sold out all through January! I'm expecting this to be the case ev
