Thanks Cal. They could have been "Lamb" avocados which are a hybrid from Hass, but are larger than Hass. I might try growing some when I move there.

Thanks cbrib. Yes that is what I. thought if available they would be expensive. Also if they were or could be grown in Thailand. The Hass derivitive are the best(and have had many off-shoots hybrid from them). I was thinking if they were for sale at any of the night markets they would be much cheaper.???

But I am planning on making the permanent move in a few months and baan amphur is high on my list from the research I have done so far. I would just like some " boots on the ground" info and feedback from anyone familiar with the area. Thanks for your valuable opinion.

Any members live in Baan Amphur area or frequent it? I have read some good things about the area. Are the beaches clean? I hear it is packed with Thais on holidays. Also a lot of good seafood restaurants in that area and yet it is still fairly close to Jomtien-Pattaya. Just scouting out areas. Again, thanks all in advance.

Any members ever tried the fish pedicure-massage. They are the ones where you put your feet in a tank filled with tiny fish that clean all the dead cells on your feet. Any feed-back, positive or negative is appreciated. Location if you have a favorite.

Any members seen any avocados for sale in any of the night markets or grocery stores in Pattaya or Thailand in general?

My first baht-dollar mark was met today when the baht closed at 32.84, which equals 1 US dollar. Nice move in the last week or so. My (wishful dreaming) goal is 34 baht by november 1st when my move SHOULD be complete. Good luck to all board members no matter what currency you hold.

The baht hit 32.84 at about 8:00am tuesday morning here in the USA. Highest it's been in sometime.

Today on the web site MM used www.xe.com the baht-us dollar was at 32.35. Was it close to this at the TT money exchange booths in Pattaya? The us dollar seems to be strengthening against the baht lately. Could be 34 again by years end I hope.

I am planning my total move to Thailand before years end. Only asking for your opinions on the US dollar rate by years end. Thank you in advance.

Let's have a little guessing - opinion game. What do you think will be the high for the US dollar between now and 1 year from now (July 22,2016)? My guess is 36 baht to 1 dollar.

US dollar and pound keep on a slow climb northward. I just checked and US dollar at 34.4 and pound at 53.7.

I am a tiny bit more possessive than yourself and desire a bit more luxury than yourself, but you made some very fine points some of which I have thought about in my planning. I m a single man, never married, no children so like yourself I can move about freely. Would like to meet with you when I make the final move. Once again very nice post.
