I had the single iol put in. I am thinking of getting my left eye done in Thailand in a year or two. I am trying to depart for Thailand in September.

I just had an IOL put in my right eye(cataracts) I highly recommend getting it done asap. Changed my life in a positive manner. Good luck to you, as I am envious of you being in Thailand. I plan to be there within the next 2 months. Cross your fingers for me, lol lol lol.

But i think for my "fine tuning" questions i will have to speak in person with a higher up bank official at Bangkok bank for a concrete resolution to my question. When the time comes, i don't mind paying a few dollars for a transfer of my funds but i don't wish to get short changed with a currency exchange "rip off". I guess i will have to keep a VERY close eye on the time i wish to transfer and perhaps camp out ( ha ha) at Bangkok bank for a while. Thanks again for your time.

into a Thai(Bangkok Bank) US dollar account, do I negate all the current baht-dollar conversion downturns? In other-simple terms 100 dollars transferred out of USA, 100 dollars received in my Thai bank account, minus transfer fee of course?

Thank you to all of you gentlemen for your time-knowledge-opinion on my question. And Jacko, yes i have noticed lately there is an over supply of condos in the Pattaya-Jomtien area; but that just HELPS me as a buyer and my leverage even more as a cash buyer. So i think i should get a better than fair price with the current atmosphere on condo prices. Now as we all kmow the BIGGEST issue currently is the currency debacle going on at this time.

Very tiny bit dangerous but i think simple and quicker. I was thinking when i move to Thailand to bring a certified bank check from my reputable US bank in my wallet to open my Thai bank account and purchase my condo and the 800k baht threshold. Is this legal? Has anyone done it? Etc.?
