Friendship sell decent Italian table wines from around 385 baht for a 2 litre bottle. Those with a discerning palate may find it a trifle on the dry side but it may be enhanced by the addition of a tiny drop of blackcurrant cordial which gives it a slightly fruity flavour.

Now that is a class act. You won't see that on America's Got Talent!

That's strange. 10 years ago I was paying Thai Airways £450 - £500 LHR-BKK- LHR, now I'm paying them £800 - £900 for 3 monthly return tickets. Edit. They must see me coming!

It's lovely, flavoursome bacon if you are partial to the streaky version which I am. The problem is is that they do not alaways have it in stock. When you cook it at least fat runs out of it instead of the water that runs out of any bacon you buy in Rip Off Britain.

The ones I have had look just as good except I go for the fried eggs. Incidentally that famous 65 baht breakfast is now 80 baht.

WTF has all this bickering got to to with the subject under discussion. Start you own thread to do your infantile squabbling on. EP. This is not directed specifically at you but all those who want to discuss each others shortcomings on a thread which has it's own heading. In this case the subject is 'urban myths in Pattaya', not all this shit you and Gabor are on about!

I bought one from Big C for about 500 baht a few years ago and still use it in the UK now. I bought the smaller size because it was cheapest but on reflection I wish I'd have spent a bit more on a larger one.

I am also an afficionado of draught beer and tend to do most of my drinking in gogo bars if it can be purchased for 65 baht or less. In twelve years I have never had a stomach complaint that could be attributed to the beverage.

How many send or have sent ?
yogi100 replied to Parkwahn's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Sending money to to someone for whom you have romantic inclinations has always been a risky affair. Con artists used to use the lonely hearts columns in newspapers and magazines to rip would be suitors off. Then along came the internet scamsters. Sponsoring these Thai strumpets is little different although usually the mark has already met the lass to whom he is sending his hard earned money. It is an activity that should be shied away from. The sponsor is normally being fleeced and the girl who is in receipt of the funds is then able to remove herself from the market thereby depriving othe -
I live in London and have never seen an advert enticing families to visit Pattaya, Thailand yes but not Pattaya. There may be the odd Pattaya holiday in brochures but it is not the type of resort that would appeal to British families, they'll come once unaware of the P4P nature of the town but will be unlikely to return unless they are visiting fathers and grandfathers. The price of the flights alone is prohibitive for the average family. They'll stick to their traditional resorts in the Mediterranean and nearer to home. Those European families who may be seen on the beach are only there b

There's more to the world than Blackpool and Margate! Those places ceased to be considered holiday resorts in the 60s and 70s, you get a few day trippers and weekenders but very few holiday makers. Beaches in the Med, the Costas, the Balearics, The Greek Islands, Florida, the Caribbean all knock spots off of Pattaya Beach with their crystal blue sea, immaculate beaches, lack of vendors and just as importantly they cater for families with their all inclusive deals. Pattaya will never capture this market. American and European families might visit Pattaya one time but will not return becaus

I'd also go for Crazy Dave's although the No 1 breakfast does me at 75 baht. Good grub with tea or coffee and toast and marmalade and it's open all hours of the day and night. We also tend to eat a breakfast that is near our lodgings and in that respect CD's fits the bill for me also. A good alternative is the Little Wonder which is in the arcade at the 2nd Rd end of Soi Diana. A tad more expensive but wonderful food in A/C comfort.

I too have sampled Crazy Dave and Linda's culinary expertise many times in the past when CDs and Seaside were the only two eateries in Soi Chaiyapoon and I will continue to do so in the future. A fine, quality restaurant serving excellent food at unbeatable prices.

Some British citizens take great delight at a fellow Brit's misfortune and will do all they can to add to that unfortunate's woes. Those same British citizens would move heaven and earth were it an Indian restaurant getting some flak.

A pleasant refined part of town, very popular with the German expats, holiday makers and to a much lesser extent a few Russians. It is a mere 10 baht bus ride into Pattaya which is usually completed in 10 minutes. British football hooliganism does not go down well with Harry Hun or the local constabulary.

Well he's now got a distinct German accent.

His name is Michael from a village near Hamburg in Germany. He is not bothered about the state he's gotten into and has no plans to return to the Fatherland. He does not want another flip flop or any clean clothes. The police will not detain or arrest for reasons which will become obvious once you've been in his immediate vicinity.

He was called Bob.
-
I spoke to him the other night and he would not tell me where he was from, just that he was from Europe but understood me speaking English to him. I gave him a cigarette and 20 baht and took my leave. I certainly was not about to bung him a 'few quid'. The reason that he is permitted to wander the streets around LK metro, according to one bargirl is that the police consider him too filthy to have in the police station or the monkey house!

I often eat in cheap Western places and find the breakfasts in CD's as good as those anywhere else for a similar price. It's a good English style cafe selling English style grub at very reasonable prices. It's open all night as well as all day and Only Fools and Horses or Fawlty Towers is on the TV all the time. Top quality British cuisine at affordable prices.

I opened a Kasikorn a/c to avoid the recently introduced ATM charges. I am also one of the growing army of working mugs who resents swelling the coffers of the licentious vipers who pass for bankers in the Western world. I use the tried and tested method of the old fashioned travelers cheque. Admittedly you pay a small commission but you can pay them into the bank a/c as you need them and they are safe and secure and under your control. I get the largest denominations available and keep those I don't spend in my travel bag for my next trip. For those who purchase a property in LOS then a

What's a 'well drink', is it a glass of water from a well? -
Drenching passers by is nothing to do with Songkran. The Thai custom is to splash a little water over folk and then an application of talcum powder and then only if they consent, it is intended as an act friendliness and affection. Moronic Falangs have hijacked the festival and introduced the water cannons and the slinging of buckets of water over people with or without their permission. I've nothing against the newly introduced habit of drenching folk from head to toe but only if both parties are in agreement. If you see some victims react with violence and anger does not that tell you so

Visitors to Pattaya of all nationalities strongly resent being soaked by mindless idiots. Drenching folk going about their business is not what Songkran is all about let alone being part of Thai culture. If a person, regardless of nationality indicates that he does not wish to have water thrown over him that wish should be respected and most Thai people will afford you that respect. I hope the bottle throwing Ivan's aim was good.
