  1. I stayed three nights at this hotel right off Sukumvit earlier this month, and although it is a bit dated, the stay was not at all unpleasant. The staff are very cordial, the rooms are reasonably clean, and the location is superb. There are no joiner fees, and I had the tg running in and out of there pretty good and nothing was ever said about it. They wil not permit a tilac to come up to the room without your permission, so I had to go to the lobby and bring them up-no problem. One small problem was that the shower grouting was not very water tight, and a wet spot developed outside of the bathroom near the room door, but that caused me no grief as it wasn't my house. ha The mini-bar is reasonably well stocked. I would stay there again. I think I paid 1200 or thereabouts for their standard room. Rgds, Jimmy
  2. What has ambient temperature got to do with consuming German sausages? Am I missing something here? I live in Milwaukee where we consume bratwurst, currywurst, mettwurst and even kielbasa anytime of the year, not to mention Italian sausage and Finnish potato sausage as well. Hell, my profile looks like a big fucking knockwurst, so what is the problem here???????? Rgds, James two days and wheels UUUUUUUPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. Crackpot, You can only be a redneck if you have more dogs than you do teeth. Rgds, James
  4. Roy, I bought a copy of the Gibson film last month at MBK, of course a pirated edition of this first run movie. The movie is nothing more than a protracted filming of a man beaten nearly to death and then crucified, IMHO. If there was a new message there it was lost on me, but I do not profess to being a biblical scholar by any means. The copy I had was filmed inside a theatre as you can see a gentleman returning to his seat about half way through the film, which I thought slightly amusing. Rgds, James
  5. No matter how careful I try to be, by the fourth day I am in country I have the "squirts." I get some pills for this at the pharmacy and just continue with my holiday. I do not, however, tend to push when I get the urge to break wind as I really don't need any unpleasant surprises. ha James
  6. Opps, this is in Pattaya, not BKK. Sorry. J
  7. Denny, I had some nice togs made at Classic Tailor, 215/25 off 2nd Road opposite Royal Palace Hotel. (66) 038-425401 Malee is a sweet lady, speaks great English, and her tailors do some nice work. Rgds, Jimmy
  8. I'm going with Jose Maria Olazabal. Rgds, James
  9. Yes, I met up with Emil and his lovely tg named Sakorn, and a nice dinner we had. Too bad the tilac that accompanied me was a total bust: I did enjoy shooting the shit with Kuhn Emil mak mak. He is a good man and lends further proof that this forum can unite like -minded punters for some good times. That is for me all that this board is about. Rgds, Jimmy
  10. Yeah, I tried to get into the Oriental but I had too mutt cow shit on my milking boots and was turned away. A pity. Rgds, James
  11. Mark, I'll clean the glasses no problem. You must stay away from the tg that goes by the name of Dick Skinner ;D Rgds, Jimmy
  12. Anyone want to share taxi to Pattaya that morning? Please message me. Jimmy
  13. Brother Pie, I guess I missed the point of Big Mike's levity-joke is on me. Funny thing, Bacon and I were there in the middle of january and we did inquire as to the membership you mention in your post, but the staff just did not have a clue as to what we were referring , so we let it go and paid the price of our rooms. Bacon's room was identical to mine in size except for my sea-view which cost me 500 hundred per. I really liked my view so I stayed there as I love to sit on the balcony at night with my tg de-jour and chill out. Regards, Jimmy
  14. Are we talking about the Sandy Springs on soi 13? I stayed there in January and thought the place was fine. I had a deluxe room that faced the water and paid 1500. A standard room was the same size and did not face the water and was 1000 tbh. That said, I had several tg come to the hotel and not once was there any mention of a joiner fee. In addition, my bed was just fine and I am pretty good sized.(Soi 7 says I am fat. I told him he was ugly-I can lose weight) ;D There are lock boxes in the lobby, the rooms were clean, the staff were always very pleasant and the pool was good sized and very nice. I have re-booked for my next trip and would recommend this place. Jimmy
  15. Seems to me that lately the only thing of interest to me on this board IS a good pissing match. "Gentlemen, start your pissing engines." James
  16. I stayed there from Jan 18 through the 22nd and had a very nice experience. The deluxe room with a view of the ocean was nice, but for the extra 500 per is really not IMHo worth it. Bacon had a room just as big as mine with a view out onto the pool for 1000 and i would opt for that should I stay there again. The staff were very accomodating and after i left the cleaning lady 40 baht each morning she left 4 bath towels instead of the original two and that helped. The room was clean, plenty of hot water, but the shower attachment was designed for people about 5 feet tall so I had to stoop to rinse off when showering but maybe I'm just nit-picking in this regard. No big deal really. I had several tg come to the room and not once did they have to leave an Id, and one even asked in which room I was staying and she was permitted to go up to the room no questions or hassle at all. If I would be a bit critical I think the floors in the lobby could have been a bit better cleaned, and i was at a loss as to why the big doors through which you enter the hotel were left wide open at night to let in the mosquitos. The Sportsman Bar and Restaurant had good chow and the staff are a nice group of cuties one of whom I would like to have introduced to Little Jimmy but didn't have the balls to ask out. I did notice that the Haven Hotel right next door seems to have been swallowed up by all the new construction that has taken place on the soi, and i wondered if Steve has had a falling off of business. He treated me like shit a few trips ago so I didn't lose any sleep pondering such. I think they serve food too, but I found the breakfast at the Dynasty to be top notch, and the Lek breakfast buffet is well known by all the boardies and needs no further explanatiion. I would stay there again. Nice place. Regards, Jimmy
  17. Well here's my take on the Nana in which I stayed 4 nights this past week. I had room 555, a deluxe for 1500 but it was dated, not really clean(but I've never noted the Nana for its attention to cleanliness anyway) I did see one cockroach but I surmized that it had scurried out of Soi 7's knickers so I didn't pay it much heed. ;D This was also the first time that I used the pool and it was fine, and the bubbly pool adjacent to the swimming pool seemed ok as well. The first night they closed the restaurant to fumigate and I could smell the bug spray all the way in my room on the fifth floor and that was nasty to endure. Bacon had a room on the 3rd floor that seemed to be in the same state as mine, so all in all I thinkk the place is by and large pretty run down IMHO. I don't think I will stay there again despite the fact that I have never had a problem with any of the desk, bellhops, or restaurant servers, although the servers are a bit on the reserved side and not very outgoing. One problem that did cause me some grief was when I was checking out at 03:30 on my way to the airport. I presented my Visa card and they ran it and said that the lines were tied up to the US and the card would not authorize. So, I had to profer up my bill in baht which left me in a predicament as i had barely enough to get a taxi and the required 500 baht airport tax upon departure. Whether the Nana staff were bullshitting me I'll never know at this point so mai pan rai. I know there are lots of boardies that feel the Nana is the consumate shit hole of a hotel. I wouldn't say that but it will not be my future choice whilst in BKK. Regards, James
  18. Deals, deals, deals, I called British Airways and they told me that if I wanted to crawl into the wheel well of a 777, that they would give me a great rate from O'Hare to LHR. But at 37,000 feet it is -70F and you can't breath either. I'll have to sleep on their offer. James
  19. Have any of the boardies stayed at Tim's since the last review was posted on 23Nov03? I have a room booked there for later this month, and I really want to be assured that this hotel is where I want to stay. Your comments please. Thanks, Jimmy
  20. I always fly Northwest(yeah, I am a glutton for punishment) and as I stay at the Nana, the travel desk in the lobby to the left of the main checkin will re-confirm your flights for I think 40 baht. This is a good investment considering the possible language problem if I do this myself. James
  21. Doolish, That is interesting. I have stayed at the nana at least ten times, and I never was asked to profer up the room cost at check-in. May be that is a policy that has been taken since I was last there in April. One thing that was funny on my last visit there. I paid my bill the last night about 6 hours prior to leaving for the airport to catch the Northwest 6 0'clock for Naarita. So, when I am leaving the hotel about 3:45 to get a taxi for the airport, I breeze by the desk with my bags and just before I hit the doors the bellboys corral me and tell me I "no pay bill." I had to stop and dig out my receipt and there was no problem, but those ole boys watch that door like guard dogs-they don't miss a trick. (no pun intended) Regards, Jimmy
  22. Upena, based on the photos you have posted I have decided to stay there in january. Just email me the cell numbers of the tilacs you had there and i shall give them my best. ha Jimmy
  23. Jesus f-ing Christ- do you ever quit? So I did a post op dude, does that make me a monster? ;D All I'm asking for here is an objective reply to a genuine query. Look, I'm not the one going to Chaing Mai to chill out for 5 days with a tg. If you want to run in BKK the nights of Nov 23thru 25 I am game. Just let me know and i will put the tg at the "Office" know that the boys are ready to party. Jimmy
  24. I don't want this to sound like I am some sort of ass hole wanker Yank prick, but I have a res at this place mainly because of the in-room jacuzzi. That said, do the boardies that have stayed there have any mis-givings about taking a tg there for an over-nighter? Hell, those of you that know me know that I am a whore monger supreme, and maybe this is a moot point indeed, but Soi 7 is hooking me up with a really nice tg from pattaya who is coming to BKK to meet me at the airport, and if she is all that she is cracked up to be(no pun intended) I don't want to take her to a hotel that would diminish the obvious sterling impression that I will purvey at the airport, and have some affect on the service that I expect once we have taken a shower and are getting after business. ha So, those that have stayed there, please inform me, in an objective manner, if I am making the right decision to stay there, or should I keep my res @ the Sandy Spring and forget Tim's. Thanks in advance. Jimmy
  25. Mr. Bacon, Just remember that if this hotel is like its sister hotel in BKK, you will not be able to bring your friend Mr. Durian into the Pattaya Dynasty. Regards, James >
