I don't see it being an issue unless you're late arriving in Bombay for your connection. All of the transfer bags are put in a can (container) for just that purpose as are local Bombay bags.Your bags should be brought directly to the conecting flt and not to the bagroom. If there are sufficient bags in the can,the can will be directly loaded onto the connecting flt. I have worked at both a connecting station and origin station and that's how it's done.

LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Heathrow Express has extended its service to a 24 hour operation on April 21st 2010 to ensure that passengers affected by the flight restrictions can make it to and from the airport. Managing Director Richard Robinson said: “Now that flights are operating today we have increased our capacity by an additional 4000 seats to help our passengers during this difficult time. Our operational flexibility allows us to provide extra trains through the night. It is crucial that we run a regular service for people flying out from the UK as well as customers flying back into the UK, but we wanted to do more to ensure that we have the capacity for even larger volumes of passengers.” Heathrow Express is running its usual 15 minute every 15 minutes service to and from Heathrow Airport, until 23:25 from Paddington Station and 23:42 from Heathrow Terminal 5. After these times, there will be a train departing every 45 minutes: From Paddington Station: Trains Terminal 5 depart at 00:30, 01:15, 2:00, 02:45, 03:30, 04:14 and 04:39. From Heathrow Terminal 5: Trains Paddington depart at 00:30, 01:15, 02:00, 02:45, 03:30, 04:10 and 04:41. A normal Heathrow Express service will operate again from 05:10 from Paddington and 05:07 from Terminal 5. Gatwick Express is running a 24 hour service to help clear the back log of passengers arriving at the airport having been delayed by the volcanic ash. During the night, extra Gatwick Express trains will depart from Victoria every 30 minutes (01h35, 02h00, 02h35, 03h05 and 03h35). From Gatwick Airport Station, trains will also depart every 30 minutes (02h05, 02h35, 03h05, 03h35 and 04h05) with a 15 minute timetable starting again at 05h00. Chris Burchell, Southern’s managing director, said: “We have been working closely with the airport to ensure there is a regular service for all passengers. As the only dedicated rail-air link between London and Gatwick Airport, we appreciate the difficulties air travellers have faced and we wanted to offer some extra trains to help passengers on their way. This extended timetable is likely to remain in force for the next few days.”

Airbus and Boeing products running behind schedule

Back on topic for a minute............. EVERETT, Wash., April 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) granted Boeing (NYSE:BA - News) expanded type inspection authorization (TIA) today, clearing the way for its personnel to fully participate in future test flights and for the collection of required flight-test data. Initial TIA was granted Feb. 11, which supported the collection of flutter certification data. The expanded TIA marks the FAA's confirmation that the airplane and team are ready to collect additional certification data. Boeing achieved the expansion by demonstrating the readiness of the airplane throughout a variety of speeds, altitudes and configurations. "This TIA expansion is another significant step toward delivering airplanes to our customers. We remain on track to deliver the first airplane to ANA this year," said Scott Fancher, vice president and general manager of the 787 program, Commercial Airplanes. In addition to receiving expanded TIA, Boeing finalized the aerodynamic configuration of the 787. "We have completed sufficient testing to decide that no additional changes to the external lines or shape of the airplane are required," said Fancher. "Having an airplane match its expected performance with so few changes is rare and speaks to the maturity of the design." The 787 flight-test fleet logged its 500th hour of flying April 16. On Sunday, ZA003, the flight-test airplane outfitted with interior elements, landed in Florida, where it will go through extreme weather testing at McKinley Climatic Laboratory at Eglin Air Force Base. Boeing released two videos highlighting flutter and ground effects testing. These videos feature commentary by the pilots and the chief project engineer and are available on http://www.boeing.com/ and http://www.newairplane.com/. -
Air Force One crashed in the middle of rural America . Panic stricken, the local sheriff mobilized and descended on the farm in force. When they got there, the disaster was clear. The aircraft was totally destroyed with only a burned hulk left smoldering in a tree line that bordered a farm. The sheriff and his men entered the smoking mess but could find no remains of anyone, including the President. They spotted a lone farmer plowing a field not too far away as if nothing at all happened. They hurried over to the man's tractor. "Hank," the sheriff yelled, panting and out of breath. "Did you see this terrible accident happen?" "Yep. Sure did." the farmer mumbled unconcernedly, cutting off the tractor's engine. "Do you realize that is the airplane of the President of the United States ?" "Yep." "Were there any survivors?" "Nope. They's all kilt straight out," the farmer answered. "I done buried them all myself. Took me most of the morning..." "President Obama is dead?" the sheriff shouted. "Well," the farmer grumbled, restarting his tractor. "He kept a-saying he wasn't... But you know how bad that sumbitch lies."

Airlines outsourcing 70% of their maintenance
bigdelta replied to SmellyFarang's topic in Airline Discussion
My airline doesn't outsource-as a matter of fact,we're one of the largest MRO facilities worldwide. http://www.delta.com/business_programs_ser...tions/index.jsp Not only is poor maintenance an issue but also poor component quality.Combine those 2 and you're an accident waiting to happen. http://www.aviationweek.com/events/current/mro/index.htm -
He qualifies then.
