  1. Random dates I looked at in September had a travel time of seventeen and a half hours both ways.
  2. Euros, don't know what happened there but I was sure I'd used the Euro symbol. Ah, just tried it in this post and for some reason I can't post the euro symbol from my mobile.
  3. Look out for offers and these tickets can be had for 1100
  4. Definitely one of the better ones. Anyone promoting the baht buster breakfast should remember the question wasn't about the cheapest breakfast and in no way could those cheap ingredients plus potatoes be considered an English breakfast to recommend. I mean potatoes? Who the hell has potatoes on an English breakfast?
  5. The first paragraph of my post was in reply to you talking about large operations in bitcoin mining and energy used. The thread is about the sale of a bitcoin mining rig. Should I have split my post into two parts?
  6. It is said that bitcoin mining uses more electricity than countries these days. Not just some small backwards countries but more than 159 countries. From the small amount of delving into this I've done it sounds like your mining rig has a very short shelf life as the computations for mining become more and more difficult rendering rigs uneconomical after a while. If rigs were so profitable why would anyone sell them?
  7. Damn I was hoping this was going to be news of free sweet and sickly alcoholic shots to be available in our sceptred isles.
  8. I believe that an overnight in Jakarta is necessary on the way there which personally I'd not have too much problem with. The return journey has just a two hour stopover but departs at 6:30 am and takes over 20 hours as you spend the first three and a half hours basically flying in the wrong direction. So not sure about that one.
  9. I'm pretty sure that the customs officers are not making up rules to detain people either. If the laws of a country say it is illegal to have in your possession the amount of medication you need for six months and you ignore this who's fault is it? Goldpanner has absolutely no need to work on his racist attitude, I reckon he has perfected it.
  10. Qatar's regular 15% off deals are generally against full priced tickets only. Good if you need a flexible ticket but not going to be much use for people looking in the bargain buckets.
  11. Due to disruption with fog in Europe this week I was rerouted and ended up flying KLM business class instead so got a chance to compare them with BA. Apart from the champagne is available for self service and there is a smoking area at KLM's schiphol lounge BA's T5 lounges are superior IMHO. Wasn't impressed with the seating and lack of privacy for all seats on KLM at least BA have the window ones. First meal service was pretty good, probably better than any BA meal I've had but then they served up an inedible breakfast that would not have been enough to eat if I had been willing
  12. My Songkran trip last year was on Gulf Air in business class and for the £1063 price I was well pleased with them. The IFE isn't the best but I found on the return journey that I had been using it wrong and there was actually quite a few more movies than I thought. I'd not hesitate to use them again around that price.
  13. BA Club world was ground breaking when first introduced. The first fully flat bed seats in business class but in the intervening fifteen years others have caught up and surpassed them. From next year they are rolling out a revamped CW with aisle access for all seats. The window seats are excellent once the meal service is over but only bulkhead seats have aisle access without climbing over someones legs presently. The schoolboy in me loves the fact that these face backwards. The old aircraft and brow beaten Mixed Fleet crew on the BKK route dont help plus on the return journey servic
  14. A quick look on seat guru shows BA have the same number of emergency exits on their 777 200s as China southern, KLM, Cathay, Emirates, New Zealand and a number of random airlines I looked up. Their 777 300s appear to have a over wing emergency exit.
  15. To be honest it doesnt seem much of a bargain for May June. I booked direct with EVA for £380 ish last February for a May flight. It was available for £367 from some on-line bucket shops.
  16. You've obviously not flown Club World or Club Europe recently.
  17. Stuff for cleaning, for myself, apartment and bike. Just moved at the weekend and while packing noticed I didn't have less than five of shower gel, shampoo, tooth paste, deodorant, aftershave/eau de toilette, toilet bleach, bathroom surface cleaner, kitchen surface cleaner, window cleaner, chain cleaner, etc. So I'd not survive long but they would be burying a sweet smelling corpse.
  18. Don't take the mickey and be sensible and you'll be OK. Old friend of mine and his wife, both forty a day smokers, brought with them a month's supply and were nabbed on their first visit. Taken downtown to be fined heavily and had no idea where they were when they walked out of the police station. As the whole holiday was based on plane spotting, yes I know I have sad friends, they had to make their way back to the airport hotel they had booked.
  19. British pensioners think they are hard and try to bully people? Who would have thought it?
  20. I'm trying mate but Ive got a pensioner bullying me and calling me names. Will try to keep my head down.
  21. Apparently it's all to do with the Qatar embargo. Rice and veg are being flow round the world via Thailand and that is doing strange things to flight ticket prices. Next thing you know, having started to spread the word, I'm going to be verbally attacked by a pensioner. A fellow Brit too?
  22. Welcome to the past.Remember that Eva had only main screens and no ife at the time so, so their evergreen deluxe felt so good. Probably importing rice into some embargoed country at the time.
