if flights are showing as heavily booked the fares will always go up. But as mentioned thats usually because the big comanies see a demand and take out HUGE allocations. For my flight in Oct/November I will wait untill the allocations get dropped and the prices will fall. I will expect to pay around the £400- £450 for a Thai flight then.

Cleaning up Pattaya...eliminate guesthouses

I'm not a 'Low qulaity Tourist' Cheap Charlie maybe but not low quality. Just seems like the big boys ganging up on the small guys. Happens all over the world. -
Well that in itself would be enough to put some people off.

The economy price is their standard economy priced fare, no sale at all. in Fact on one site it was £415 yesterday so agents are chopping their rates to sell.

Qatar are offering a free nights hotel for Transit passengers so they can discover Qatar Offer is available on Qatar Airways flights transiting through Doha during onward or return journey. (E.g. You really are going to pay top whack for any tickets for January 2018 none of the airlines or big travel companies are even bothering thinking about January yet and they wont even send in their projected allocation untill probably September. November through to mid February is high season (from the UK anyways) and also brings in Chinese new year (give or take) so you will be quoted the standard rated fares. Saying that, Qatar and Eva are showing as £445 ex UK for those dates.

Why not? we Brits constantly have to have the old 'Rotten Teeth' rubbish wheeled out on a regular basis. Totally wrong of course when, on a per capita basis the US has far worse teeth than the UK -

'Baseball' shall henceforth be referred to by its correct name of 'Rounders' a quaint game played by little girls. 'As American as Apple Pie' shal be stricken from the language. The English invented Apple pie. -
I was on one of the last Kuwait Air flights from Bangkok to London via Kuwait before the war. I quite liked Kuwait air. There was always an early morning change of flight in Kuwait and they took you upstairs for breakfast. LOADS of bacon & eggs hot tea and toast and it was very nice. Shame about Gulf Air, I was tempted to try them again but the Skytrack reports are horrendous. I remember taking a French Friend out to BKK on GF and they gave out small bottles of wine with dinner. Now my friend was a bit of a wine buff and he was stunned at the quality of the red they served with the ste

Anyone been on Gulf Air lately? Back in the 80's I always travelled with them. One reason was I got lots of free tickets !! another was their in flight service was superb. Even in Economy you would get fillet steak and some little bottles of superb red wine, and the film selection was also pretty good (for the 80's) They would hand out so much booze on board. Now, reading some reviews it would seem as if they have gone downhill sharply so has anyone travelled out to Bangkok on them lately?

If I was tempted to buy anything in SE Asia it would be in Vietnam, Nha Tang or maybe Dalat. I doubt any property in Pattaya is going to bring any decent return as an investment now.
-
Yes its daft isnt it? Long Haul ticket prices are cheaper now than they were in the mid 80's.

As suspected Qatar have started dumping seats and prices in May from £384 on Skyscanner, I suspect that they may drop down another £30 at least 09:15LHR 16h 05 1 stop DOH 07:20 (+1)BKK 02:05BKK 15h 05 1 stop DOH 11:10LHR 21 deals from £384 09:15LHR 16h 05 1 stop DOH 07:20 (+1)BKK 09:20BKK 17h 05 1 stop DOH 20:25LHR 21 deals from £384 09:15LHR 16h 05 1 stop DOH 07:20 (+1)BKK 20:25BKK 16h 40 1 stop DOH 07:05 (+1)LHR 21 deals from £384 16:00LHR 15h 30 1 stop DOH 13:30 (+1)BKK 02:05BKK 15h 05 1 sto

I cant get accurate prices ex Schipol, and as I stated previously they havent even released the fare rates for January February yet so the prices you will see are the standard full fares. Youll need to wait till at least June for them to start even considering 2018 discounted fares.

My comments were relevant to the UK, not the Netherlands. Booking direct with airlines in the UK will always get you a higher price in the UK than booking with an agent. One example at the moment is Qatar. Agent prices are £30+ cheaper than their website prices. Eva Air website 5 minutes ago offering departures from 01MAR-13JUL17 / 14AUG-07DEC17 at £465 Skyscanner showing the dates I want in October/November with 22 deals from £435.That price will come down by at least £30 as well. No booking charges. Now saving £30 to me is something I consider important. A few weeks back Eva were du

OK last bit first. I would suggest that, for June 2018 you start looking around December/January. Now the problem you have is that most UK agents dont have the right to sell discounted tickets from destinations outside the UK. They CAN sell them but the price will probably be higher than you could get having a wander around the agents in Bangkok. You could try Skyscanner around November time. And just a point. UNless you have a lot of money or a FF membership I would never ever buy from an airlines website as they will always be around £30 more expensive (and thats the price of a girl for

Its never been an economy friendly airline. It deteriorated badly when Willie Walsh took the reins, That snidey little git openly voiced his contempt for Economy passengers. I can easily remember back in the early 80's jumping on a BA flight to Paris. Just in front of my seat was the Business class. The waitress (for thats all they are0 was handing out newspapers to the Bsiness class and I dared to ask for one. She looked at me with utter contempt and spouted "THEY are only for Business class" I just replied "You've just lost a longterm customer dearie" and with that I never flew with them a
