In September probably not. I am planning a trip in late August and they are all expensive. Can't find anything on Eva or NWA less then $1000.00. The cheapest I found was $700.00 on Korea. Seems the deals are for now or early Summer.
-
NWA has a great deal. You can use your miles plus cash for a ticket. Less then $400.00 from LA to Bangkok. Must purchase by may 16th. Travel by June 30th. I have 50,000 miles but not traveling until August :-[ Also you can use America West miles toward a Northwest flight (5000 max) but must be international. I'll stick to EVA for my next trip. I always get the free upgrade on the longhaul flights.

I was in Thailand about 1 month ago. There were these two little guys on a crotch rocket. They were riding on a dirt rode when they lost control near an intersection, they both wiped out. They were very lucky not to get run over by a car turning on the dirt road from the intersection.

I have flown Northwest twice. It is not too bad, but there is only one TV in coach. Also the flight attendents are all built like linebackers. Tokyo to Bangkok there were some cuties. Depending how big you are Coach can be very uncomfortable. I will fly them once more to get the free trip. If I had a choice I would stick to EVA. It seems like I can always book economy and get free upgrades on the 2 long haul flights. And I am a member of the evergreen club and stay in their lounge. Lately it did not matter because I sleep all the way from LA to Bangkok (no joke) here is the key: 1or2 Xanax, 2 benedril, 1 melitonin. I was out. Another way I save money (SOMETIMES) is I will book out of LA and take a Southwest to LA.

Peteboy, I say just go and see for yourself. Whatever happens no problem, just party your ass off if you confirm her wild lifestyle. Why would these girls stay in Pattaya if they are not going to go with farangs. The most important thing for these girls is money. I know alot of Thai woman here in America that have 2 boyfriends and they never worked in Bars. Good luck.

NEVER TRUST ANYTHING THAT BLEEDS FOR A WEEK AND WON'T DIE ;D

I think I ate there before. There is another restaurant I like, It is right in front of the Jomtien Palm Beach resort, the restaurant is owned by the hotel, the front door faces the beach. Great food. I go to thailand 2 or 3 times a year and I can honestly say the best Thai food I ever had is near my house is Vegas.
-
Sorry to hear about your girl, hope she fully recovers. It could of been alot worse. You sound like a good person, hope she appreciates you.

Sounds like you got very lucky with that price. Out of Vegas it around $1000.00 even if I book a Southwest to LA it is still over $950.00. I can upgrade to deluxe with my miles but it still a fortune. I was in Thailand in April and their gas is pretty much the same price. The airlines are saying the gas prices are what keeping the prices up. Surprisingly I am flying Vegas to Syracuse, New York the week of July 4th with no Saturday stay for $350.00 roundtrip. I am going again to Thailand in August and I am going to wait to book, hoping the prices will come down. Eva is the way to go, you can get in at 11:00 am and go straight to pattaya from the airport. Thai air has a bus at 12:00.

There is one across from the Queen Victoria Inn on Soi Yodsak. 1 baht a minute, computers are fairly quick. This Thai kid helped me email some pictures to my friends at a reasonabel price. There is another one on Jomtien beach, not sure of the address but it is close to the police station on one of the side streets. Very fast connections.

i love to work out any gyms !!!!!!!!
kjvegas replied to airborni's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
There is a gym in Jomtein called Hard Body Gym. It cost 75 baht for one day. There are three levels, there is a sauna but opens at 4pm. It is about 100 yards from the police station. The Gym is OK. Also there is on beach road near soi 8 that is comparable, I think I paid 120 baht. I normally don't stay in Jomtein but I do like the beaches and less people. The gym in Jomtein is good, there are only a few people working out there. I have been working out since high school football 15 years ago, and yes lifting weights increases your testosterone, something you will need especially if you will be in Pattaya for two months. As far as getting huge, you will want to do 10-12 reps 4 or 5 sets. Eat lots of protein, a few hours after eating protein, eat your carbs, that will fuel those muscles. I like Balance Bars, a little mixture of protein and carbs. Also you might want an afternoon nap. I used to train serious when I played football and when I wrestled. good luck -
Soi7 I was in Pattaya in January and that is when I had trouble with my ATM card (with visa logo, I was still able to take a cash advance in the bank) when I returned to America I ordered a new one. When I went to activate the new at the bank the stupid woman went to cancel the old one but canceled the new one. By now my next trip to Pattaya is coming up (I was in Pattaya 4/8-4/22) and the only card I had was my savings account ATM with no VISA logo. The logo's on my Savings ATM is Cirrus, Star, Pulse, Instant Cash, the card worked no problem. My next trip to Pattaya (three months) I have the new one (with visa logo) and my back up so I should be set. Good luck

I just returned from Thailand and had problems with my ATM card. The magnetic strip was worn out, would not work in Thailand ATM's. I do believe Cirrus is OK, however if your ATM has a Visa Logo on it you can go in the bank and do a cash advance and even save a few bucks in ATM fees.

Are all Thai girls so generous?
kjvegas replied to HeartBern's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
If the price is right, sure. Never trust anything that bleeds for a week and doesn't die -
Tic Travel was a good one for me one time. My ex tried to book a ticket one time and messed things up. > I went to Tic and they took care of my problem. :) Woman, never trust anything that Bleeds for a week and doesn't die.

The only place I will ever stay again is the Queen Victoria on Soi Yodsak. I don't like to walk too far after getting my pipes cleaned. ;D
-
There is a visa service just a few doors down from the queen victoria on Soi Yodsak (go out the front door of the queen vic and take a left). I am not sure how well it is, it says Visa's to U.K. I am not sure of China. I think there are some visa services near the Queen Victoria

Tangent, Also you have got to check out the Elephant / Thai Culture show. The elephants are something else. After the show you can have your picture taken with them. I had the elephant pick me up by its trunk. The show is about 15 minutes outside of Pattaya. I am going to Pattaya in one week and hope to check it out. One more bit of advice, many tourist get sick when they go to Thailand, the first two times I went I got sick (my Thai girl's family lives in the country) and I was in the hospital. Now when I eat Thai food in Thailand, I drink a beer or two, usually after dinner. I haven't been sick since (knock on wood) kevin

Tangent, Hope you have a great time with her, she sound like a winner. The Thai woman I know in America and in Thailand (her family) are for the most part very good and their husbands or boyfriends are very happy. There are a few that are real bad but that is with every culture. When I first met my Thai girl everything was so good, we were very happy. We had planned on getting married, I sent out invitations. One of my friends wanted to go to my wedding, but I did not know his address. My friend and I are Casino dealers in Las Vegas and we used to work together. So we hand delivered his. Walking out of the casino my girl was a little curious about the 5 cent slot machines, I figure what's a couple bucks. That was the biggest mistake I made in that relationship. Now everyday she wants go gamble, she even would take one of the cars while I was sleeping even though she could not drive. She became very compulsive, now about $10,000 US later and a beautiful diamond wedding ring she pawned the relationship was over. My Thai girl was a nightmare. Even after what I went through I do believe there are some very good Thai woman. The good ones I have known are educated (very important), responsible and caring. When you go to Thailand and if you hit it off with her, this girl is going to pamper you. You probably won't want to go to Pattaya, If you are curious about Pattaya ask her to take you to the beach, that is what I did (I played dumb) I knew about Pattaya before I ever went to Thailand. I live in Las Vegas and I can honestly say Pattaya makes Las Vegas look like Sunday School. What a town. Again best of luck to you, keep us updated on your Thai girl, she sounds like a winner. :) kevin

I met a Thai girl similair to the way you met your, she worked in Taiwan for an electric company. She also had 2 daughters. After getting to know her, I thought she was amazing. I have been to Thailand seven times in the past few years (three for her). I helped her and two daughters come to America and live with me in a beautiful house, the kids (5 and 6) went to a good school, I even bought her a new car. Then she started gambling and anyone who knows Thai woman they can be compulsive with what they do, I live in Las Vegas where there is alot of gambling. When things ended up sour she was very violent, I cancelled her petition and she had to go back to Thailand (she was here on a fiance visa), married only 6 months. That was last year and now I travel to Thailand 3 times a year and I try to leave my heart at home. It is very easy to fall in love with any Thai woman, even a bar girl they are very sweet, beautiful, amazing. I would suggest go to Thailand and be selfish. I would also say have an open mind. She sounds like a great girl, she is probably educated which I feel is very important (mine wasn't) there may very well be a future with her. She may be the best thing that ever happens to you. There is not a better feeling in the world then falling in love. If things don't work out head to Pattaya, what a place . But I think you may have found a good one. good luck :) kevin

DaveUK That is definitely the life, in one and a half weeks it will be me. Pattaya is heaven. I go to Thailand usually about three times a year. I have been doing this ever since I had a bad experience with a Thai woman, my story is on bahtbus.com, Andrews Story under amazing stories. Thanks for the information on the gyms. I like a little of both, I like to pump iron but I also like the health club also. I work out at Gold's Gym in Las Vegas Nevada (USA). Take care kevin
-
Also The address for the hotel is: 427 Moo 12 Jomtien Road, there are plenty of Baht buses. They cost 10 baht, sometimes more with Jomtien, The Hotel has their own bus, just give them a tip. Also being a foreigner they will try to charge you more, be strong.

Jomtien Beach Hotel is a nice Hotel, I stayed there twice. The room I had had a big Queen size bed and a twin bed. It is a beautiful Hotel, they have alot for children, they even have a bowling alley, a real nice pool, a nice hotel in general. They even have these little sharks in their aquirium. I think I paid $45.-$50. US. I booked online once and it did not go through, I paid full price once $50.00 but that was during Chinese New Year. It would not hurt to call the hotel before or print out your reservation. Jomtien is better for the family, I used to stay there with my wife (now ex) I now stay at the Queen Victoria on Soi Yodsak, don't bring the kid there :) Good Luck kevin

Thanks again for your help. I know where the one on Beach Road is, it looks pretty nice. I will also check out the on soi 3, right by my favorite Massage (sabai dee). In about 3 weeks I am going to be in heaven. Thanks again. kevin :)

Thanks a bunch for the information. I will probably check out both, my hotel is not too far from Soi 3. I can take a nice little walk or a baht bus. I am staying at the Queen Victoria on Soi Yodsak which is by is great for the price (500 baht), very clean and great food. The last time I stayed there I had a great view from my room on the second floor . Thanks again for the information on the health clubs. kevin
