Cheers Niall Another board member has e-mailed me direct with some good news but thanks for the heads up on the £16.50 deal. A couple of years ago I weighed in all my Virgin miles with an Upper Class flight to HKG, the Virgin lounge at LHR was great, lovely bar, nice meals etc even a hair cut and massage if you wanted. Bloody long walk to the aircraft though.

I see you can book lounge access LHR T3 for £19.95 with ebookers, is this the best deal and is it worth paying for? I thought maybe arrive about 1930hrs knock back a few free G&Ts and have a bite to eat,the main seating area and bars become pretty crowded. TIA

Have you Guys never heard of "Rip off Britain"? The official Eva Air site quotes around £1,300 or $2000 for LHR-BKK, I believe that the same site quotes a lot less for USA-LOS for Evergreen deluxe. Sometimes I think about flying with Virgin to LAX then Eva to BKK, bloody long way to go, although it will boost my FF miles

Sorry to make you jealous Guys. I have just booked Evergreen deluxe LHR-BKK with Ours travel out 13Nov rtn 28 Nov £580+tax, pay a couple of weeks before I go. These forums are like a giant roulette wheel, you are envious when everyone else says they are off to LOS, but it's great when it's your turn to go. (Please do not mention when you have to come back)

Jomtien Beach - Botany Beach Hotel
Gus replied to chickfeeder's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
chickfeeder The Botany Beach is quite a long way from the action, but the fish restaurant at the end of Jomtien beach road is a must visit. When I come to Pattaya in November I will stay downtown for 3 or 4 nights then 5 nights at Pinnacle resort which is near Botany. It is very quiet during the day and you feel like you are on Koh samui, at night you are away from the action but still should only cost 200 baht max for your own taxi, probably the hotel may run a courtesy bus at certain times. Myself I think it is worth the hassle, just for the tranquility of the daytime and 20 -

eltib does it sound like Eva are doing away with the Combi in favour of the 744 pax altogether or just for the odd flight when there is a shortage of Combis probably for technical reasons?

sm I was thinking of going in October but after checking out www.weather.co.uk and looking at climate statistics for LOS, I saw October is the wettest month of the year. I will now be going mid Novemebr. The umbrella thing is quite intriguing, where the handle is you could have a Dildo, then you have a rain protector, a walking stick and a TG pleasurer all in one

westeast travel have an offer on, Evergreen £530 + tax LHR-BKK rtn for travel 8 Sept -28 Nov book by Sept 30th, sounds good! Economy from £370. Their site lists Evergreen Deluxe as having "Fine Bone China" it didn't have in February!

Well done Tom Dynasty does some very good, the fare is excellent for business, still not sure if I'll go for it or not. On Row 10 window, the emergency slide doesn't get in your way does it like Eva evergreen 27A and K. I have just checked out the weather channel and October is the wettest month of the year in Pattaya so I may delay till November, although the Hotels cost a little more. Rgds Gus
-
Many thanks for that Tom, I have just checked out China Airlines with Ours Travel and it is only £400 return from BHX in October, however I cannot find a Dynasty price. Can you recommend a good site which shows Dynasty fares at a good rate? finally, is Dynasty a better product than Evergreen DeLuxe? Rgds

Tom and anyone else who may know. I will be going Eva evergreen deluxe in October and as I understand it, Full 747-4 Tu, Th, Sa and Combi Su and Wed. When I went out in February on a Saturday it was a 368 seat 744, do I take it that any of the variants may be used on LHR-BKK? I prefer the seat layout on the Combi, I have all the seat plans printed out but the Full Pax 744 doesn't appear to have any obvious 'better' seats, anyone disagree? Even the girl on the desk at LHR didn't know which plane it was, she said I give you 27C next to exit, it was in fact next to bulkhead and (babies). T

Laser teeth Whitening at BPH, as a ball park figure what is the cost? I know you cannot be specific but a rough idea of the cost would help. TIA

pprune are reporting that a United 747 en route to Tokyo injested a bird in one of it's engines during take off. Fortunately the aircraft had not reached take off speed and was able to abort take off. Blew a few tyres etc, plus 4 passengers were hurt during the evacuation. I think the flight was UA 238. Luckily there were no major injuries, I bet a few pax needed to change their pants though

A friend of mine who has property in France took his TG there, said it was a lot easier than UK

I read on another forum somewhere that China airlines are taking out the premium economy seats on the Amsterdam-Bangkok flight. No doubt other well informed members will be able to add to this.
-
Today I had an e-mail from Eva saying that if I booked on their official web site I would get bonus miles. Just out of curiosity I looked at their fares for October, £1,367 LHR-BKK-rtn, Ours Travel is about £600, fcuk the miles

Transportation from PTY to U-Tapao Airport
Gus replied to Tweety's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Taxis are between 500 and 1000, I paid for a Merc Limo from Montien hotel, 900, but it was worth it, no messing around. you should be able to get normal taxi for 500. Rgds -
I like to stay in better class hotels if possible(3*+). After problems in the past(Montien!) I now e-mail a hotel before I book asking what their guest poilcy is. If the reply is negative, then fcuk em. If the answer is positive, copy the reply and show to any jumped up jobsworth that may try to charge you a joiners fee when you turn up at the Hotel at 2AM with a friend in tight jeans and top(and flip flops!).

I would imagine that 99% of room maids are not going to nick anything, just think how much face they would lose when they are caught.

Gus replied to Eric_Olthwaite's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Is she Bar-fineable? or put it another way, is she shaggable? -
I've just re-adjusted a couple of things on Zone alarm and we seem OK now.
-
Eneuk Thanks for that, yes the remember box is ticked, also TOOLS, INT OPTNS, PRIVCY then Accept ALL cookies..... I think it may be a conflict with Zone Alarm firewall and the new software, I'll have to see if I can find anything on Zone alarm. Rgds
