neil Bangkok Air only fly to Xian from BKK on a Saturday, I have not been on the A320 but I think only 1 class. Maybe you can do better via HKG or PVG (Shanghai).

party Other side of 2nd road just past 'Kiss', I think the hotel is called the 'Apex'. About 95 baht, plenty there but not very hot, the large area is not A/C so plenty of flies. I went just the once, FWIW I don't like buffets, even in 5* hotels, too much of a bunfight. There are plenty of good value 'cooked to order places' without visiting these cheapcharlie restaurants

Today I got a phone call from OURS travel, he said Eva had just put their prices up but if I wanted to pay before tomorrow I still get the same price and T&Cs. The new price is only abour £15 more so no big shakes. Looking at some of the fares UK guys are being quoted, Ours/Eva at £590+tax for Elite(Evergreen) seems a quite good deal. Usually you pay two weeks before flight, also upgrades are more difficult with the new 777 according to Baker.

Great TR and images ech. The bumping figures you mentioned seemed pretty good.Last February at BKK for the LHR flight for Evergreen pax, offering about 6000 baht to fly back in economy. Sure they were the figures, I wasn't that skint I did say that I didn't mind flying Business class but they didn't take me up on that one

taltos This is a bit of a long shot, if BKK flights are busy try looking at HKG flights and then HKG-BKK. The Chinese do not seem to celebrate our Christmas and New year as much as some other countries as they have their own at the end of January.

Sandy spring Check out the hotel reviews and it should give you the info you need. I think you can get a sea view for around 1350, I stayed in a suite for 2500 but not worth the money.

I tried to book on the Nok air site Bangkok-Chiang mai return, outbound on 20th November. Their web site says only taking bookings until 29th October, does that mean that possibly no Chiang Mai flights or no Nok Air flights? To send an e-mail query to CS Nok the submit button is greyed out

Looks like I will try for Areca Lodge in November, am I a Big Butterfly or what? never stayed in the same Pattaya hotel twice yet Areca has 4 different room grades, standard 990, deluxe 1190, superior 1460 and Exec 2080. I was thinking of trying to book a Superior because that includes room safe, any opinions on the rooms? I have read the reviews Last time stayed Baybreeze, OK but their rates have shot up, was 500 standard and 800 big room, now 950 and 1300, too pricey for what you get.

The Honda wave riders in Samui are awesome, you have to be minimum age 9, maximum 90 to bomb around on one of those things. Always 2 or 3 on the bike and no head protection required The police only have a rare purge when they need some tea money. It was a laugh one night going back to the hotel, scooter taxi man, drunk TG and a 17 stone pissed farang bringing up the rear, it's a wonder the front wheel touched the ground at all

gabor No experience of Aloha but I believe it's a pretty good place, more or less in the middle of town. You'll have a good time in Lamai just don't expect it to be like Pattaya. Beach is a great place during the day. For Saturday night boxing all the bars have their own different coloured seating, it is funny watching Farangs come with a drink with one bar and sit in the seats from another bar. Mamasan soon gives em what for
