I just checked out Oasis for the dates I want to go to LOS to see if it works out cheaper via HKG. £99 out and £99 return = £198 WRONG + tax of £105 outbound and £43 return total £347. How the tax is 105 from London and 43 from HKG only Gordon Brown knows.

Qatar is a great price, for me Eva works best. I now have a silver FF card which means that I can check in at premium and use the lounges at BKK and LHR. Also I like a direct flight but I guess for smokers a mid-way break comes in useful.

neib CM Porn Ping, Raming Lodge, Central Dungwatan, Empress and where I stayed Thapae Place Hotel (850) are all GF and OK
-
Cheers Paul I will be popping into Ours Travel this week and see what they say.

As per the header, do Eva and therefore Thai airways have a January sale? I say therefore because once one does it the other invariably follows I seem to remember someone posting that early January after the peak season airlines come up with new deals for the spring and summer.
-
31st january looking good then also before Chinese new Year When my flight arrives back from LOS we are usually in the stack over NE London for 15-20 mins, if the arrival traffic was better scheduled no holds would reduce emissions. ie: no increase in tax
-
All this was announced in a pre-budget speach, when is the actual date for the new tax? Also is it just business class tax that is increasing or economy as well? I think at the moment the tax to LOS is £20 economy and £40 business/first.

The A380 was in Suvarnabhumi last week, Airbus were concerned that Thai may pull out of their plans to buy some A380s. I got a Thai A300 to Chiang Mai the cabin colour was like wallpaper you find down the indian restaurant.

Just checked out Oasis, LGW-HKG return, £479 on those dates, plus probably another 200 for BKK-HKG rtn. For UK guys when all hope is lost, try this last roll of the dice. A bit of fucking about I know but you can get the ferry in HKG to Macau and a low cost airline flies to Bangkok. Just remember, no gain without pain

TQ2 Privilege Cards Get yours today!
Gus replied to BobsBBQ's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
I stuck my head in TQ2 the other day around 5pm, and thats all I could get in, my head. The place was heaving, maybe another time. -
I was reading in the Bangkok Post this morning that Gulf Air have a mastercard promotion. About 800 pounds return business class but you must have a companion.

EVA Security Restrictions for European flights
Gus replied to Braveheart's topic in Airline Discussion
I flew out of LHR on Wednesday with Eva and actually got through security pretty quick, never checked my toiletries. -
The Eva air web site shows two airlines as partners, Uni air and Continental.
-
I hope that you Eva air frequent fliers are not nervous fliers I should be more worried than most as I am on BR068 on Wednesday. On another forum I read about an Air safety notice for 777s using the GE90-115 engines, yes Eva same same. If an aircraft takes off not using max power(which is the norm) then the software can cause engine roll back or something meaning that an engine can lose power just as it takes off, it may not get off the ground or not clear high buildings etc. The directive instructs all 777 GE90-115 fitted aircraft that they must use max power on take off, this is probab

In the Times yesterday, Phuket £99 return, must fly out November 13 th for 7 or 14 days. I think this must be a charter flight, and probably quiet until Christmas. You could then arrange flight from Phuket to Pats or BKK. I guess Thomson or similar have Phuket hols.
-
You can fly Bangkok airways from Pattaya(UTAPAO) to Phuket, check out their web site for prices schedules etc
-
SS Many thanks for that, if paying business fare then I want a freebie lounge pass because so many TGs need my money I may fly AirAsia for 999 baht then pay to go in the lounge, that would be worth it because there is an extra hours wait for the cheap charlie flight.
-
thanks Hilly, not sure if I can transit or not, I am flying from LHR with Eva and Eva and Thai do not do through baggaging, not the best of friends me thinks.
-
When I arrive at BKK I will have 2 to 3 hours to wait before catching a Thai Air domestic flight to Chiang Rai. If I pay for a Business class ticket will I be able to go into the lounge or are there no lounges on the domestic side? The reasoning being, 3345 baht for economy, 4345 for Business, only £14 extra so if I can go into the lounge may be worth it. TIA
-
I will stand corrected here but I believe that when saying River Kwai, Thai people will not understand. It is pronounced River Kwey.
-
If you are not in a hurry there is a tourist train from Bangkok Thonburi NOT Hualampong which leaves about 1-45pm. The cost is 39 baht single, great journey, great fun. I went all the way to the end of the line and stayed at Nam Tok, this is close to the Hellfire pass and museum. I stayed at The River Kwai Village Hotel, nice place by the river but a bit remote, if you stay ther you need to take your own TG.

I was in the London Lounge about 10 days ago, although I was flying BR/econ One thing not mentioned is the lounge has a nice shower area, so you can freshen up and remove your clinkers before the long flight to BKK. Cold Singhas readily available in the fridge to get you in the mood for Thailand.

UK Guys Eva air have a promotion on their web site for outbound travel 28-31st December (I Think) a snag is you must return after 16th january. I believe it is £570+ econ about 720+ elite and 1250+ PL. The Premium Laurel seems a good deal for people not short of a bob or two. Thinking about it OURS travel PL fares were reasonable around Christmas. Just had a quick look, OURS 700+ for Christmas, try via HKG with Oasis air the new airline
-
What would the cost be to upgrade at LHR from Elite to PL? This would probably have to be in the Low season as PL is usually full high season. FWIW I fly out 29th in the zoo, hopefully some empty seats about.
