nicky You should be able to get Thai from £427.80 with various. I have booked Eva £508 inc tax out on the 1st with westeast.
-
Well Well, I sent a snotty fax to the westeast MD, soon after I got an e-mail, Eva out 1 Feb, back 2 March, £415+taxes. I accepted and someone who sounded like one of the bosses rang me back and now I am booked. Apparently a lot of confusion with Eva at the moment is because they are charging PL tax on all tickets to the agents. It is costing me £40 each way more to fly with Eva, but I have my seat reserved in the zoo, row G, I will get my F F miles and also use the AVOD entertainment if it is working properly. Less money for TGs

westeast have ignored my e-mails and fax for two days, the phone, you wait forever listening to some stupid do your head in music and I know why. The EVA promotion with Ours finished on 15th and I suspect westeast fucked up and sent me the promotion price. When they realised it was no longer available they just ignored my requests. Now it looks like I will go Thai but I am not going to give eastwest my dough

Being British (European) I like and support Airbus, but in my humble opinion the 747-400 is the best aircraft around. It seems so spacious, with a window seat on an Airbus, the fuselage seems to cramp you up more, with the 744 it goes straight up. Also the 744 has an area at the very back to stretch your legs and look out of the emergecy exit door windows, which are quite a bit bigger than Airbus. I made these opinions when flying Virgin to LAX several times they used the A343 and 744. It has to be good for passengers if there are 2 major competitors building aircraft. Who knows in the

I have just had an e-mail from westeast, the Thai promotion with them is £435 but they have Eva availabilty at £478 inc taxes(385+93). This seems very good to me, Out 1st Feb, Rtn 2nd March. I don't mind paying £43 extra for the better entertainment and FF miles. I will book this later today

Just checked out Travelocity, business class, LHR-BKK for June £1068 Qatar, not direct. £1161 Eva direct and £1903 Thai direct all inc tax .
-
After a couple of things happening (or not happening)today, it looks like I will be going 31/1 and returning 1/3, just within the 30 days Looking around I have found LGW-BKK-LHR via doha with Qatar for £413 inc tax with expedia. I can still get Thai from LHR with various from £427 inc. Eva with Ours is £475+ = about £570 but with ebookers £542 inc I will check out westeast and then book tomorrow all being well. Eva will have better entertainment but whether it is worth £115 I doubt it. Maybe go with Thai and take some strong sleeping tablets, if anyone knows any tips how to guara

This Thai offer is excellent compared to the other airlines which fly direct. I will probably fly out on the first Tuesday in February, which flight is usually the most popular(full), the morning or evening one?
-
Thanks for that Tom, I am sure I flew non stop to HKG from LHR on a 343 with Virgin. Just wondered about the Moscow stop. It is worth considering having a Chinkie before the Main Course. I can now remember it was a 343 into Kai Tak, I took some piccies from Checkerboard Hill and sent one to RB, he sent me a nice letter back.

First of all, don't those dummies in the windows look fucking hideous, some of the clothes are shite and the hair styles...well When I first went to LOS I got involved with suits etc, but now I don't bother. The materials and workmanship can be a bit shoddy. Shirts are possibly OK but the collars usually let Thai shirts down.
-
I just had an e-mail from Lastminute so I put in the dates when I may be going. LHR-BKK 7th Feb BKK-LHR 21st March £427 including taxes The only thing I have to be careful of with these offers is sometimes you cannot change the inbound flight or it can cost you £100. Sorry, this is with Thai.

Maybe it's possible to charter a Cessna from the local flying club, especially if there are a couple of you. There is an airline flies 2 or 3 times a day from BKK to Hua Hin, think called SAG or similar.

OURS Travel have a special offer on with EVA at the moment, just go to their site and click on special offers. LHR-BKK economy with some restrictions £395+tax valid for travel 8 Feb-30 Mar and 14 April-9 July It has to be booked by 15th January. Seems a good deal to me, I can't book until I know the result of my court appearance on the 16th

billywhizz One of the top forum members is Cheshire Tom, he uses Qatar airways from MAN. And they are a 5* airline

I agree Fatboy, Zoo for me next trip, which has at least improved with the TVs (not ladyboys) I think the EVA/Ours success story means my honeymoon may soon come to an end and I have to start using other airlines.

Another good point ech. People would be pretty pissed if the aircraft ran out of fuel en-route and the board of enquiry(NTSB) found the cause of the accident was that 200 pax had carried on too much cabin baggage. In the USA passengers are generally more switched on to not having check-in baggage . I think it is two pieces allowance, maybe no weight limit, some pax walk up the aisle with everything except the kitchen sink

And don't forget, Thaksin still hits you for another 500 when you leave

Selling your UK house to move to LOS?
Gus replied to Lancashirelad's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
I have been reading a few 'Moving to Pattaya' threads and I decided to tag onto this one. OK, I am currently married, no children, in my late 50s (but look younger ) my missus is a typical fucking misrable farang missus My posting is not influenced by alcohol, miserable UK weather or a BeerBar TG that I have fallen head over heels for. I need to seperate living in Pattaya mode from holiday mode, I have just spent a month in LOS (TR to follow) but I feel there is nothing in the UK for me now. When I returned home the missus was indifferent to my presence and although she is good a -
I have just had a look at OURSTRAVEL web site and they are now advertising UK regional flights only through LHR and no AMS connections, although I expect if you spoke to them they would oblige. The fares listed are only LHR. Also the fares , all plus taxes and valid 6 months Low 1/1-10/7, 21/8-9/12 shoulder High 15-23/12 econ 475 625 725 elite 635 785 885 PL

Flight attendants struggled with my skymap on the return trip, they reset it a couple of times, but as soon as I watched something else I couldn't get back to the skymap. Flying back over Europe it worked but she had put it on Chinese or whatever, when I chenged it over to English, Kaput I am not sure how often they are going to change the movies etc I flew LHR-BKK 10th Nov BKK-LHR 8th Dec, movies Same Same and not different

Go to the check in desk with the shortest queue I have just been on an upgraded trip Elite to PL and I think it was 30,000 each way, back to the zoo next trip
-
Have a great time guys, don't forget to have a look at the exit row wndow seats, to see if you can fully stretch out with no bulky emergency shute in the way.

Empress is a nice hotel but around the 2000 rate. Totally GF and room TVs have some sport. Always Tuk Tuks 50 yards from hotel, 40 baht to night bazaar. Porn Ping is the place for night time action with Hot Shots and Bubbles. Plenty of bars showing sport. The only fault I have with Chiang Mai is that it is not on the coast, mai pen rai

Cheers Matty One or two comments have been made about the lack of toilets in Elite so i have just had a butchers at the 777 seating plan. PL has 42 seats with 3 toilets, Elite 63/2 and economy 211/5, the ratios work out PL14/1,E32/1 and econ 42/1. Sometimes I had to wait in PL so I cannot imagine some of the waits further back.
