gabor Trust me on this one, stay in Lamai rather than Chaweng. The Weekender resort has a good selection of rooms depending how much you want to pay. I had a beachfront bungalow with 2 big beds, aircon, TV,fridge etc forget how much probably around 1500. Ask for Ken, he is around 70 years old but top man, also get a nice massage in the gardens, plus 2 pools. The hotel is GF and in the centre of town, I have stayed there twice, last time for 11 nights, I was due 8 but extended it. I plan to stay in February and pull in the Full Moon Party. I feel really comfortable in Lamai, never had the ne

I have seen some BKK taxis parked outside LEK hotel on second road

hannibal Check out Bangkok Airways, you need to book Pattaya-Phuket then Phuket-Bangkok. These I believe are the only scheduled airline to fly out of Pattaya(utapao)

I just had my Eva mileage statement by post, it said my e-mail box is showing Full, yet I empty it everyday Any idea if I need to check anything out?

masterblaster You think too much Be careful of Rabbit Resort, the hotel I believe is good, but it is located on the GAY beach Check out the Hotel reviews section, you will find lots of brill info. -
Ian Join the Evergreen club, you can do that online and print your own membership card. When you check in for your flight ask ticketing if you can pay for lounge access, I think it is £18 at LHR, last two times I have been lucky The SAS lounge at LHR is nothing special but still better than waiting in the Zoo
-
Ian If the £682 includes all taxes then the price is OK for Evergreen(Elite). I think if you book MAN-BKK you may get routed via AMS, I am not sure how the times work out for you on that route.
-
Dave On the new 777s which start on the London route in September, enhanced economy/Evergreen DeLuxe is going to be called Elite Class.
-
I wouldn't like to put my mortgage on the airport opening fully by this time next year

shyface From Tuesday 16th August OURS Travel are offering EVA airways LHR-BKK return for £455 plus tax in the zoo and £580 + tax in Evergreen deLuxe. Sounds good to me I forgot, you can also get a great rate from Scotland via Amsterdam or maybe LHR, they will pay for one nights hotel at LHR on return in some cases.

Tom Many thanks for the Eva Premium Laurel Piccies. I run OPERA now and couldn't get them but I got them OK on IE. I don't think those images did the cabin justice and I am sure it will be better in real life, just like TGs, although your images were excellent. Is your mum on the flight on 10th November as that is when I will be going outbound, I return on 1st December and miss out on the mileage bonus. I was going 9/Nov back 30 Nov but OURS couldn't get confirmed PL upgrade, so at least I am now confirmed both ways although I lose a bit of mileage.

Tom The link wouldn't work for me, something about Butterfly Mak mak or Shutterfly Said something about not allowed shared pics, timed out. Rgds Gus

wac Premium Laurel is a joint First/business class. 747s have 4 classes First, Business, evergreen and economy 777s have 3 classes Premium Laurel, Elite and Economy.

I have just been into OURS travel as I am in London en route Brussels to have my cock sucked, but that is another story. Part of it is that I blagged my way into the VIP lounge at Waterloo Eurostar and this has free internet. There was a bit of a mix up with OURS and I had not received answers to my e-mail or Fax. The bottom line is that I have confirmed Premium Laurel LHR-BKK 10th November paying £580 +tax+ Evergreen miles return 1 December same same. Eva are starting a Friday flight soon making 6 days a week LHR-BKK and it is only a matter of time before it's 7. All of you gamblers, w

Emil made a great point there, fares RISE and availability falls around Chinese New Year period. This varies from year to year, not sure for 2006 but I think it is year of the Dog, January 29th.
-
neal I hope that you left it
-
Gaz I think it may be expensive and depend on availability, probably 3-400 quid each way if available.

It would be fun to watch a fully loaded 747 or 340 departing Bangkok Airways airport at Ko Samui, Long Haul As long as I wasn't on it
-
Any anoraks out there? What would be a ball park figure for the fuel costs for the 777 between LHR and BKK compared with the 744?
-
I will be going to LOS in November but most of the Hotels/agents are showing rates only to October 31st. When do they normally post their winter rates? TIA

tiss I bet Phuket Air 747s looked nice when they were on the ground at LGW I know that the 777 is a very reliable aircraft, some of them fly over the North Pole. If someone is a mathamatician there is something about 4 engines being more likely to develop a fault than 2 engines. I can't wait for November and to try the new 777. I always preferred the 747 to the A340, if you have a window seat on the 340 the fuselage tends to curve over your head more than the 747 which doesn't curve until higher. Plus you can have a look out of the window on the emergency exit at the rear of the 7

Tom You missed, '60" extra wide lavatory for passengers with special needs' Could be my chance to join the Mile High club, I am only Solo at the moment I notice that the Elite seats are Business Class seats, 18.5" wide but the economy seats are also 18.3" wide with 33" pitch, may be better in the Zoo on the 777 as well. Actually economy is OK until the Dick in front of you reclines their seat fully back, then it is a pain I went Upper Class with Virgin Atlantic once to HKG on the A346 when it was pretty new, not a lot of action around the bar, should have been staffed by Soi 8 gir

I have just e-mailed OURS travel to book out November 9th back 30th on the new EVA 777, booking Elite(Evergreen) class and hoping to upgrade to Premium Laurel using miles. I booked Wednesday travel hoping it will be easier to upgrade than on a weekend. The aircraft seems great but it's a fucking long way on 2 engines, and they are not Rolls Royce either

ramster It's quite a way, I guess a good one hour drive. I have only done the journey Pattaya to the airport, cost between 500-800. The airport is a military/civil airport with a minimum of facilities. I think you may struggle to find a good deal for a taxi from U-tapao airport to pattaya, if you can get one for less than 800, take it. The good news is it is better than going via Bangkok, I think there is just one flight a day from Ko samui which arrives about noon, so I guess you will have to change planes in Samui. If you do make sure your camera is handy, that airport is awesome.
