  1. We are looking forward to having our Old Farts Saturday lunch at your restaurant again ?.
  2. The best way is the way I have been watching it the last several years, by subscribing to NFL Gamepass. For $199.95 US you get all of the games plus several shows before and after the games dissecting the performance. It's all in high definition also. It goes without saying that you have to have a decent Net connection.
  3. I had a pulled pork BBQ sandwich there for lunch today and it was excellent, as good as any BBQ I've had in Thailand. Good service and a comfortable setting, I'll definitely be back.
  4. I was a regular customer that hated to see them go also. Maybe another similar restaurant will open in Jomtien.
  5. I live in Thailand and I have a Thai drivers license for a car but not for a motorcycle. If the traffic is bad in Pattaya like in the evenings or on the weekend I usually ride my motorbike and I was tired of having to go to the police station and pay 400 baht every time that the Pattaya police stopped me. I bought one of the so-called International Drivers Licenses like are advertised online a couple of years ago and it works like a charm. Sure, I know that they aren't legal and you wouldn't try and rent a car in the US with one but I know from using it that it works like a charm in Thailand
  6. That's the reason that I quit flying Thai, I was flying biz and they filled it up with Thais that they upgraded. Like you, I didn't give them a second chance.
  7. I buy steaks from Hickory now and then also and I agree that they are some of the best to be found in Pattaya. I cook them in a similar fashion but I do it in reverse, I sear them on both sides in a stove-top pan and then put them in the oven for another ten minutes, I've never tried it your way. I looked at their new location on the map, I don't know how well they will do down there off the beaten path. If they couldn't make it at their old location I don't think that they will able to make it at their new location either.
  8. I live near Frasers and go there once a month or so. I agree that the Friday steak special is a good deal and that's probably my favorite thing to eat from there although everything that I have ordered from them has been good. Service is usually quite good, my only complaint is that they only have four or five booths and most evenings they are full and you have to sit outside or at one of the large tables inside that aren't very private or comfortable. I think that I would go there a lot more if they had regular tables like most restaurants.
  9. I eat there regularly and they always seem to have great food to me. Thanks for the report.
  10. I have a Macbook Pro as well as a Windows tablet and the kindle application works great on both of them. As for what I have been reading lately I just finished Christopher Moore's Gambling On Magic and I enjoyed it. I guess one reason is that it is loosely based on a real person who is living in Thailand.
  11. My favorite gym in Pattaya is in the Marriott Royal Garden. Plenty of free weights and a juice/coffee bar upstairs,.
  12. Thanks for the photos and report, it was very informative. I've been to Vietnam a few times and Hanoi a couple of times and while I saw the Hanoi Hilton, Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum and Halong Bay I never made it to see this citadel, I'll be sure and do that my next visit.
  13. Thanks for the great report and photos. I've visited Vietnam several times but my last visit must have been ten years or more ago and I can't remember a war museum in Hanoi although I did visit the prison called the 'Hanoi Hilton' where John McCain was held. This must be a fairly new addition on the Hanoi tourist scene, I think it's time I made another trip :).
  14. http://dancewatchers.com has quite a few rental units in View Talay 2 and 6, you might take a look there.
