One thing you need to know about Markland is more than half the units are condos about 270 I believe and about 180 units used as hotel rentals. It is a major tour hotel for the Chinese tour groups. Always several bus loads are in the hotel. It is a nice place but only three main lifts, and the outside glass lift to a rooftop restaurant and a service lift. They are all slow and never have I seen them all running, it can be a pain sometimes.

For 50,000 baht per month you should have no problem finding a place. Most hotels will cut you a monthly deal on a suite if you like. You may also want to look at Markland on Soi 1 the condo units are nice and you can use any or all the hotel services for a fee. Many rental units are offered within the building.

Dynasty Inn - Pattaya..... any info??
fishingtime replied to Zeus's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I went in the New Dynasty Inn Soi 13 just after it opened. They quoted me a rate in person of 990 but then dropped to 820 if I book 2 or more nights with them. The hotel will move on the rate now because things are slow and the place is empty. I did look at the rooms and they are better than average for Pattaya. -
Flipper Lodge vs. Flipper Hotel
fishingtime replied to rumor1126's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I have stayed at both the Flipper Lodge and the Eastiny Inn. I find the Eastiny overall to be a better hotel but never had any problems with the staff or the rooms at Flipper Lodge. -
Flipper Lodge vs. Flipper Hotel
fishingtime replied to rumor1126's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Eastiny doesn't have a web site for any of their three hotels; Inn, Place or Bella Vista. The current rate at the Eastiny Inn is 800 baht per night. If you stay two weeks or more the Bella Vista will discount the rates to 550 baht. Flipper will charge you 800 and 880 for rooms right now as they offer a 30 % discount. -
Don't need to relax I'm free to post my opinions as you are also.

If you're just trying to get answers to your questions, make the investment in this site, post some useful information and become a member. Then the language that is inappropriate is not a problem because it will appear on the closed members site. you should have a problem doing this if information really is the goal. But if taking away members is then it will be a problem. I don't think we will see you on the members board but only time will tell.

Why would the members want to go off site to another site? This is the site that we read and post to. You are a new member and the first post you do is to redirect the membership, seems a little strange indeed? What surprises aweigh at that redirect? I for one will not take this bait.

Any 500 Baht Hotels in November?
fishingtime replied to saigon_butterfly's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Take a look at the White Inn, Cornor of Second Road and Soi 15. A two minute walk to FLB Bar and they charge 400 baht per night year round. Also no id checks at the desk but also no pool. Many guys staying long term pick this hotel because of price and location. -
The Nana Hotel is not great but the rooms are clean the food very good and the action is about as good as anywhere in the city. If you go with the new wing the rooms are much better, as are the upper floors above 5. The Deluxe rooms are 1500 baht and very large. They are redoing many rooms now and it should be better soon. I think everyone should try the hotel at least once.

I checked my hotmail account and could not find that it did. So I believe the answer is no. -

If you want to know everything about Pattaya

Gabor, You are doing well for a fun hobby type site as long as you enjoy it that is all that is really important. -
Good condo units don't last long but like girls always another one will come along to fill the gap. Myself I don't like the idea of forming a Thai Corporation so you can own land and if you're not in Thailand all the time security for a house is hard. I think a condo is a better way to go for those who want to own.

The US carriers have one flight but international have many more; Eva, CP, etc. Also the International carriers have many partners who co-share so many more choices. I don't need to even add that Thai Air has many flights.

Airborni, With the high cost of living in Japan is it really worth teaching still? Japan is one of the mosty advanced countries in the world so standards the of living are very high. I don't know anything about teaching in Japan. But I would think the standard for teachers are much higher than in Thailand i.e. Masters in Education? Fishingtime

If you want to know everything about Pattaya

How long has it taken to get to 23,000 hits? Are you on any of the web search pages? -
I would not think about buying until you have been living in Pattaya for six months. Then once I found the building and location I wanted I would rent for about six months. You don't want to buy the wrong place and have problems and/or lose your investment. If you want to stay with Pattaya Beach itself look at Markland on Soi 1. Good management, nice building, far enough away from the action to be liveable but still on the baht bus route. Studio units about 45 meters will run 1.5 to 2 million baht. Larger studio units on the back side will run 2.2 to 3 million baht. The front units 2 bedro

B-man I understand your point of view and I agree work permits are not carte blanche licenses but they do give you more protection then not having them. But it is your business to run as you see fit. Hope you can make it work.

The phone number for Angel travel is US 800-922-1092 or 708-532-4500, the person to speak to is Ann Taphanand she owns the place. Also her best price is not always her lowest, last year I told her two tickets were to high and she rebated back by check about $150 dollars. Have used her for a few trips never any problems. NWA does have some great deals now. The only down fall is one flight NRT to BKK each day gets in at 11:35pm and one flight back leaves around 6:15am.

Continental is $499 in August New York to Hong Kong which is $100 dollars less. NWA also has an August deal on New York to Singapore for about $500 dollars in August. Both airlines beat CP on price, but service is another question.

You're right they change the videos on the west bound and east bound flights each month. But the lead video that starts in August east bound is the lead video west bound in September. And the next month it becomes a sub video, so the same videos take three to four months to clear the system. When you fly every month you see the same video over and over. Also they share it seems with partner airlines so they get old very fast.
