  1. Kjvegas, What did you think of the pool at Residence Garden? Is it large enough for some lap swimming? Thanks. SoCalGuy
  2. Aardvark, Please post your comments about Cathay after you biz class trip this year. I, for one, would be interested in hearing them. Thanks. SoCalGuy
  3. Torrenova, I am curious if the hill you mention on the way to Residence Garden is the kind that is easily walked, or is it a bit more severe, requiring some effort? Thanks. I plan to hike between RG and Walking Street several times a day if possible. SoCalGuy
  4. Please correct me if I am mistaken, but I think they charge a joiner fee! SoCalGuy
  5. Gabor, Sorry for the show of ignorance, but what is RCI? Is this the tourist police? SoCalGuy
  6. I am wondering if the Conrad is available by bid through Priceline - Hong Kong. Perhaps the area is not listed as Sukhumvit. SoCalGuy
  7. Yes, indeed! SoCalGuy
  8. Sendbaht, Please correct me if I am wrong, but I think they are talking about the Pattaya Marriott, formerly the Royal Garden Hotel. SoCalGuy
  9. orientaltaffy, Please tell me more about the "high five" hotel! I like the sound of the aircon being on all the time. Thanks. SoCalGuy
  10. Winner, All I can say is that in all my various message board perusing, I don't recall any negative comments about overnight guests at the WG. I assume that if one is no problem, two should not be a problem either. SoCalGuy
  11. Winner, Apparently, the rennovated rooms are exceptional, and the non-rennovated rooms are okay. From what I have read for $60-70, it is a pretty good deal. SoCalGuy :)
  12. JohnJr, Thanks for the info regarding the jw marriott! Please tell us which Priceline you used. I thought there was some reason that everyone used the Priceline Hong Kong. Thanks. SoCalGuy
  13. yinzer, I agree that $70 per night for the jw marriott is a very good deal. The only problem from my perspective is that there is no guarantee that you will get the marriott when you bid for a 5 star hotel in Sukhumvit. Apparently, there is an option on Priceline now to select a particular hotel, but I hear that the price is quite a bit higher. SoCalGuy
  14. Upena, Thanks. Yes, that is the email address that I tried, and that I referenced in the earlier message. Regards SoCalGuy
  15. This is kinda weird. I went to the web site indicated in the previous post and clicked on the email link on the page, and sent them an email requesting information about the hotel. This is what came back to me in the bounce back message: Hi. This is the qmail-send program at sydney.bebest.net. I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses. This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out. Looks like it is trying to route through Australia. Strange. Regards SoCalGuy
  16. Emil, Thanks. I just got a bounce-back message when I tried to send an email to the address you supplied. Is there a typo in the address? Regards SoCalGuy
  17. I have read some reviews about Mike's beach resort hotel on soi 4, but I cannot find an email address or web address for them (I tried a google search several times). Does anyone have an idea about how to contact them. Apparently they have recently refurbished the place, and the rooms go for around 600 baht. Regards SoCalGuy
  18. Has anyone had a problem after using a credit card to pay their bill? (double charges, etc.) I have heard of a couple. Thanks.
  19. Starry, Just wondering if you could tell me where a person would lock up their computer while staying at the Flipper Lodge? My understanding is that you cannot use a laptop from your room because their is no phone jack to use with the computer. Appreciate your help. Regards
  20. Smittyjp, Please elaborate on why you did not care for Flipper House, and would prefer Flipper Lodge or RG. I was considering a stay at Flipper House based on a better location than RG, but not having stayed there I welcome other's comments on the place. Thanks. SoCalGuy
