  1. The number of manned desks at Immigration and the speed at which they process passengers pretty much nullifies that scenario.
  2. If you're visiting friends or using LOS as a base to travel around, all you need is the self-certification page that is included in the visa pack download from Hull.
  3. Anyone taken Chivas up on the deal.
  4. I know the feeling. Unfortunately, i was looking at 20m off the Euro lottery or something.
  5. N3RGT, To be fair, the National Lottery people sent me an e-mail highlighting the rule when I first played online in LOS.
  6. You can play the UK and Euro lotteries online, but they log your ISP and won't payout if you win so you need someone back home to buy your tickets.
  7. The figure of -10 that was quoted was for their net order book, not their total cancellations.
  8. Who is the president this week?
  9. The hospital's own website lists the nearby hotels. Up to you, depending on your budget. http://www.vejthani.com/web-english/patien...s-nearby-en.php As for "action", Ratchadapisek is probably your nearest.
  10. Flight prices ex BKK haven't changed that much in the last 15 months. It cost around 35k baht then, the same as it does today. The difference between then and now is that 35 k baht is now the equivalent of 700 quid compared to 500 quid 15 months ago ago.
  11. BA's own website.
  12. Not far off. Each way!
  13. Convert the mpeg4 files to .wmv or .avi files first. There are loads of convertors available. Just google convert movie files and off you go .......
  14. Nearer 64 USD with the taxes but still good value judging by the pics of the rooms.
  15. Mick, Unfortunately that's not quite the way the airlines see it. Mr Sophon said he wanted to see THAI and Nok, which is 39% owned by the national carrier, collaborate more on domestic flights and reduce unnecessary competition. Reducing competition isn't going to bring prices down. The best that could happen is for AirAsia to take up the route.
  16. Agreed. It's a nice enough hotel even if the room sizes belong back in the 80s but to recommend it on a mongers board without mentioning the joiner/guest hassles is pretty bad advice.
  17. nidnoyham, Assuming she is flying BKK-KUL on Air Asia, it is the same terminal and miles from the main KL International Airport complex so there is no chance of getting confused. The good news is the KL LCCT (Low Cost Carrier Terminal) is on one level and is pretty small so not much chance of getting lost either. I may be going through the LCCT in the next couple of weeks. If so, I'll get some pics for what she should be looking out for and send them to you.
  18. August Suites ......... Non-registered Guest or Joiner Policy A joiner charge @ 500 baht will be charged per person per night. Enough said.
  19. The Nirvana Place is 3k baht a night incl taxes and b'fast for a 77 sq m suite if booked on their website. It's sometimes worth calling them and asking what's the cheapest rate they can do for a given period. http://www.nirvanaplace.com/roomtype.php
  20. The original figure was quoted by cinali who said that the guys spend their money on girls and beer. So the figure of 1k for 4-5 beers (+ 4-5 LDs) sounds a pretty fair guesstimate.
  21. Chivas, It's just a question of priorities, I guess. Some guys prefer to drive a Merc but I'm perfectly happy driving an Isuzu D-Max. Other guys prefer to eat in good restaurants all the time but I'm more than comfortable scoffing in a Thai, placky-chair joint.
  22. I normally "pay" around 1,500 quid to go biz class (Qatar). However, once you take the airmiles into account (biz class and gold card) the real cost is probably around a grand if you plan your travel carefully. The only two things I won't economise on are my hotels and my flights.
  23. After yesterday's treasury figures I don't think the Thai taxpayer has much cash left.
