Lots of businesses are taking 12 and 15 as holidays to make a 4-day weekend ... buses, trains and flights are likely to be very busy from the afternoon of 11th.

When did you last use the Kasikorn booth at BKK?

It's often reported on this forum that the FX rates on offer at Thailand's Airports are lower than those offered elsewhere in the country. I use Kasikorn and had never really noticed much of a difference, if any (it's difficult to know what rates are on offer in town at the exact same time as I'm changing cash or TCs at the Airport). I was in my local Kasikorn yesterday and during my conversation with a very helpful young lass, I mentioned the oft-reported difference. She was adamant that the rates at all branches were exactly the same and showed me a poster to confirm what she claimed. So, it appears you can change your money at the airport without the worry that you'll be losing out by 3 satangs on the exchange rate (at least at the Kasikorn booth).

Ah, well! Her first victory on the European Tour was merely delayed by a few weeks ... not bad for a 17 year-old. From the Bangkok Post ...

Any news on this scam airline? They were trying to flog flights between Hat Yai and Phuket to start on 1 Mar - obviously nothing materialised.

It's definitely an aircon thing ... folk "economising" by not getting them cleaned. The best over the counter remedy I've found readily available locally is Boots own-brand Cetirizine Hydrochloride. Probably cheaper buying them at Tesco's or a decent pharmacy though.
