Girls, girls, too many girls.
Top_Cat replied to PattayaPete's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
I went to the PBG on my last trip. Not many FL's about. Can't see that being a big issue as if there's none there then your right next to Walking Street. If you cant find a FL or BG there then your lucks out! IMO the PBG is a great venue, very laid back and completely unique in Pattaya. Top_Cat -
Thanks PM. Looks good value and is now on my accomodation shortlist. Top_Cat

Thanks for that PM. Looks nice. Are their safes in the rooms? Cheers. Top_Cat

As at December 2007 Oasis was owned by an American by the name of Bill. Or at least that was what he told me!! He did say that he was looking to sell so it could have well have changed hands since then, or other parties have bought shares etc. Or maybe I was just being bullshitted!! Top_Cat

I just got 6 weeks off work
Top_Cat replied to larry1979's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Get booked up and GO!! But do join this site as a full member if you haven't already. Loads of info available and advice. But please search first. 6 weeks? No where near long enough but a good starting point!! I only manage 3 weeks twice per year. Never mind. Top_Cat -
BL like you I have never owned/managed a Go-Go bar. However I got talking to an owner one night and he described managing the girls as "like trying to herd fish". Enough said. Top_Cat

Minus 5 Bar and Supper Club?
Top_Cat replied to Mescalito's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
Is this place not part of the Amari group? Think I saw something on Stickman about it with a link. Looked nice. BUT..seems if your in a wheelchair your not welcome. So if your too short, too tall, too wide, not wide enough then rules may be applied. I always thought that in the bar business you packed the place to the rafters and took everybodys money. That seems to work. And as for 500 baht to get in?? Fuck that I pay 500 baht to get them out. Top_Cat -
Sorry mate........but........ Cant see what your point is. You spent money in a Go-Go bar and thought you had exclusive rights to have one bird give you personal one to one attention. If you want the personal thing pay bar. You had 4 hours to make your mind up? Seems you did not and suffered the consequences as the bird was moved to another table. Complain about it and see what happens. Not that beatings are condoned but its pay (bar) or shut up IMO. Chok dee kap. Top_Cat

Yes. Just like you have never lied to your wife and daughter. Top_Cat -
Big D Sub-letting is normally barred in most rental contracts. You could drop yourself into a right load of shit both Landlord and Sub-Tenant style. Top_Cat

Thanks for all the updates. I am making enquiries about flying with Emirates from Newcastle for my Dec.07/Jan.08 trip. Will compare fares with China Airlines. Top_Cat

Thanks for all the replies. As predicted I have bitten the bullet and bought a Dynasty ticket with Gazelle Travel. seems there are very few options available. The problem is that I live in North East England and, at present, there are no direct flights to LOS. So this means a connecting flight to one of the larger airports. I have been informed that one of the Middle Eastern operators (Etihad?) are going to fly out of Newcastle starting in October. Supposedly this will nor be direct but will involve a stop en-route. Maybe a bit of competition will help. I did ask at Courtneys how

I last travelled this route Dec 2006/January 2007 in Dynasty (Business) class. I booked May 2006, through Gazelle Travel, and the cost was £899. Now want to travel same route etc. depart 22/06/07 return 13/07/07. Got quoted £1079 by Gazelle. Thought that was a bit of a hike in price. Rang Courtney Airsavers. Quoted £1115 Dynasty and £560 for Economy for same dates. Now seems that Dynasty fare is DOUBLE that in Economy. It seems to me that there has been a considerable increase in the Dynasty fare but little or no change to Economy on the same route. I am a Dynasty card holder

WELL NAME THE FUCKER THEN!!! Its pointless saying that they are/were a member as the finger will be pointed anyway. If you dont want to name them then dont make indirect links to the board as BM's will try and work out who you are talking about. This will stir endless shit. Top_Cat

Thanks for the replies. I have not formed a Company but did like an apartment that has now sold out the foreign allocation. Therefore the Limited Company route was the only way open for me to purchase in this particular development. However I am going to forget this Limited Company idea all together as it leaves the foriegn purchaser out dangling on a limb and overall creates a load of other administration problems. I am seriously considering buying a condo in Jomtien. I haven’t got anything specific lined up as yet. Looking at the boards all the advice says always buy a condo in your own name. That’s fair enough but has anyone bought a condo in the name of a Thai Limited Company? Obviously each condo block has to be 51% “Thai owned “ but I doubt this would see many condo blocks being sold out, so surely the Thai Limited Company route must be followed by many Falangs? Are there any BM’s who went down this route willing to share their experiences/opinions? More specifically did you s

Its located on Soi 15 which can be accessed from Second Road or from Soi Bukaow. The hotel has a tuk-tuk and taxi (baht bus style) that ferries passengers from the hotel down to Second Road and back again. If you go to the Second Road end of Soi 15 they have a couple of blokes in uniforms who sort of supervise the service. If you wanted to go up to the hotel you could jump on as they don't check if your a guest but it would be advisable to go into the hotel once you get off or the transport blokes at the hotel end might get suspicious. Up until Sunday 22/01/06 my mate was staying at the Mercure on a discounted standard room rate negotiated with Christoph the manager in June 2005 when the hotel first opened. On Thursday of last week an acquittance showed up at the Mercure and told my mate he was paying 2300 baht for a standard room. My mate thought this was steep and checked with reception who confirmed that the rate was in fact 2300 baht for a standard room. So....... Top_Cat

1090 baht standard room. Last years low season rate for a standard room was 990 baht. These are the rates for booking directly through the hotel. Chok dee kap. Top_Cat

Emil Thanks for the reply. It was around 9PM when we had the drinks in the Mercure. We then walked down the Soi to Second Road. Your right about it being dimly lit and very little activity. (Apart from rabid Soi dogs appearing out of the gloom and going ape shit.) Personally I don't find Pattaya an intimidating place but I would not want to walk along that particular Soi after dark. IMO it is a prime spot to be attacked. My mates intend going to the same bars as when staying at the Areca and intend starting from the Areca Beer Garden. I haven't discussed it with them
