Yeah, I think I stayed in one of those one time when I got there early and the room in the front wasn't available. They ARE a bit smaller...the walkway iinfront of the back windows is chopped out of that room, effectively taking over a meter off the room. And I agree with you that the web site is misleading. Have to have a talk with Arnold next time I stay there. When I made a reservation for last May I enquired about it before I got there and he was very forthcoming about the arrangement but the description on the website is misleading IMO. Take care, ~Sa-teef 69

Well Jeez Jimmybb, don't mince words! Tell us how you feel honestly! I used to fly NWA and no matter what flight status I had I never seemed to connect with a freebie flight ( if it takes 350 days in advance, that might explain it! ) I'm premier executive with UA and I get free upgrades most of the time now if I want to roll the dice. I got free upgrades on 3/4 over the ocean flights in May/June. For my trip in October I decided to spend a few FF miles (60k) and I'm 1st/business class the whole way with prime seating. Making and paying for the ticket early got me the best sea

I've stayed in Roof Garden Inn several times..... "room i was in was a bit small." Not sure which room you could have been in cybers frankly...? All of them are relatively large and I've been in half dozen of them.... Some of the ones in the back are a bit smaller. The broadband is on a terminal downstairs. It is NOT available in the room. They do have DD telephone and you can use dial-up from there. They have a charge per call for the access. Don't recall what Arnold charged me, but it seemed reasonable and I MUCH prefer using my laptop in the comfort of my room to going out

"in early June they where driving down pillars in the ground with these large hammer like machines " Yes, my room was on that side of the Inn House and it was LOUD in the morning when they started the pile driver! The only time you could hear yourself think was when it brokedown (relatively frequently it seemed) Perhaps they are going to build something to bridge that gap? Guess we will see in the coming months/years? From Bazzap's pics it looks they haven't done anything yet in that sandy area. I was glad I was leaving when I did, because I wouldn't have stayed too many more mornin

Any Updates on Inn House on Soi 13?
Sa-teef replied to kingfisher's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Emil, It was 4th floor and I had about 30 degrees of the horizon where I could see the ocean, yes. They didn't call it seaview and I would say they were likely best calling it a standard suite. Just sent my buddy Tukta an e-mail and we'll see what she offers. I told her I was expecting the same rate, so we'll see....? Take care, Steve -
Any Updates on Inn House on Soi 13?
Sa-teef replied to kingfisher's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Emil, The 6k for the suite is what I paid in May as well per week. Haggled a good long time and she wasn't gonna budge off that price. Got that fatal thai girl "can not". Two days ago I wrote to them as well inquiring about the construction on Soi 13 and I got the same "form letter" Sargo: "Dear,Mr.Steve Thanks you very much for interesting to stay in Innhouse again. In October i think construction near finish and small sound. No make more noise. Please confirm so that we'll arrange a room for you. Best regards Tukta" Jeez, you think they are getting some cancellations beca -
"it's just like Majestic suites...no place for a taxi" I always get on & off at the "7" on the corner of Suk & Soi 4 when I stay there. Avoids that annoying honking sound and the moto wrapped around your door when you open it! Anything similar near the Grand Inn? I might wanna play cheap charlie for a day or two in Bangers before I head for Pattaya? ~Sa-teef

That's nothing Jimmy! Ever been in the rack with one of our "beefers" when they blow a tire? It can be a messy situation, I tell ya! ~Sa-teef

Any Updates on Inn House on Soi 13?
Sa-teef replied to kingfisher's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I just added a review on the Inn House as well. I stayed there for 2 1/2 weeks in May/June 2004. No it's not the Dynasty. It's half way between Beach Rd and 2nd Rd on the north side of the road, next to Ma Maison Hotel. ~Sa-teef -
"This is the bad one, as they are driving down pilars in the ground" Absolutely, positively awful pile drivers going from 8 am on my last few days staying at Inn House approx. June 4th and 5th. I was on the west side, facing Ma Maison and it was damn near deafenning at times! The pooying were sleeping right thru it, but I sure couldn't ! It's not the Ma Maison addition that is causing the most noise, but the open lot next to it. And a short time before I left they delivered a couple truckloads of structural steel to the site next to the Dynasty so I'm betting whatever the hold-up w

When it rains in Aug and Sept.
Sa-teef replied to marketinsider's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
I was in Pattaya for parts of August and September last year and only saw one all day soaker the end of August. Usually a shower blows through late afternoon and it's kind of fun actually! Cools it off a couple degrees and washers away the dust! Just watch where you're walking after dark if it rains hard. You'll ruin those new shoes in one of the potholes! Also if it rains hard between 6-7 you can trip over to Soi 15 and watch the GG's scrambling to work in the rain! Ya almost want to ask them "where you go?" Listenning to the click, click, click of their clogs and heals in the -
"for a fillet Steak it has got to be cut from a f*cking Goat " So THAT'S what happened to my ex-mother-in-law! Tell me Larry,What makes you think that cow pat gai at the Lek is REALLY CHICKEN....? If it was after the 15th I would have enjoyed meeting a few of you gentlemen! If you simply tell the ladies you're metting a friend, that's all they want to know. And as long as there are two or more of them, they will busy themselves talking with themselves. You didn't seriously think they find your conversation THAT facinating, did you? Have a great time! ~Sa-t

I have a dvd/cd-rw drive on my laptop. Great way to check-out the dvd's before I head back home and the TG's seem to like playing with it as well. I can load my digital pics and edit them there and burn 'em on to a cd-rw for travel. The ladies often like a copy of some of the pics as well so I burn the ones they want and drop them off at the photo shop for development. Puts a smile on their face. ~Sa-teef

That's amazing Rhino! I'm clueless what you said, but it sure reads Aussie! Hehehehe.... Do they televise Aussie rules football in LOS? From the little I've heard it sounds interesting. Have to check that out when I'm there in May.. --Steve

"Car spotting" Hey, now that sounds like a laugh a minute!! ;D ;D ;D Only wish I was in Pattaya at the moment instead of the middle of another snow storm back on the Frozen Tundra! I wouldn't be oggling tailpipes! [smiley=uh-uh.gif] [smiley=uh-uh.gif] [smiley=uh-uh.gif] -- Steve -
Well I don't know Chris...seems your sidekick has a p#ssing contest going at the moment with tabmule. Not sure how that all started, but looks to me like it belongs in the OT to me. ;D ;D ;D Hope the playpen is back soon. --Steve

" am having a hard enough time finding S.S. they are on Sio 13...and there are three of them. Ramster " That's gotta be the BEST honest comment I've read in a long time, Ramster! It's all in a days trip to those who have been there, but the "other13's" all have slashes after them....and there's at least four others if you count Soi 13/1 through Soi 13/4. And then there is Boystown Pattayaland 3 which is actually Soi 13/5....? But don't worry about it 'cause the bus/cab driver who has ever been to Pattaya before will find the "regular" Soi 13. There are an abundance of internet cafe

"Just something about that place" Yeah, it could be the mold or stale beer in the carpet or the unidentifiable "spots" on the bed spread? [smiley=yikes.gif] For 12-36 hours while I'm intransit to Pattaya, nothing is quite like the Nana. But if I'm planning to actually stay for any length of time the Majestic Suites is great. -- Steve
