Well - I know what Peter is trying to do - and I hope he succeeds (even more than now). I also visit PBG regularily (when in town) and so far it has not really been for the FL's. But IF there was a good selection of FL's there I would MUCH rather find one there than risk the darkness on Beach Road. And even though I like to visit the bars and go gos just for fun I would be pleased to spend a lot more of my "searching time" in PBG

My problem is that I don't know what I am looking for and very little about silks in general (that will always be a bad starting point for shopping) and frankly I am not really interested enough in silk to study the subject properly. Does anyone know which different qualities there are of Thai silk - and what is a fair price per "standard unit" ? What standard unit is it measured in - square meters ?

If she is competitive price wise (quality I guess will be similar since she does use the same sweat shops - but she might help you find any faults if she wants to) I would rather support her than a "indian taylor" Are she really interested in supplying mens clothing ? Would she be selling Thai Silk (just the cloth) with a reasonable mark up ?

Thanks guys. I went to Pattaya2U and they WERE very busy as predicted. After a quick glance they would not touch the netbook because it was still under warranty. The did refer me to a shop called SPK on the same floor. After listening to the fm an (not at its loudest then) they also recommended to leave it to Lenovo. They confirmed I had worldwide warranty - but also that a repair in the Lenovo workshop in Bangkok would probablt take a least a month. (and I am not in Thailand that long). They were willing to clean it for 1500 thb - but would not promise that was going to help). I decided to try to live with the noise - and hand it in to Lenovo when I get back home.

Which shop (probably in Tuk.com) would you recommend for fixing a Netbook PC (running Ubuntu Linux but shouldn't matter since it is a HW problem) ?

Well - I also think Miss Tik is exceptionally lovely and I don't recall reading a bad review about Dancewatcher and Tiks services - so what is not to like :)

I am not so sure that was the smart move. I think you had a more than fair chance of getting the unauthorized drinks off you bill AND the greedy mamasans would have had to coved that. That would perhaps make them rethink their mode of attack (probably not though). At least you would have felt better getting it off your chest and the bar would have had a chance to keep you as a customer.
