Reservations versus Walk-in rate?
sinbinjack replied to camus's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
hi all iv'e been quoted by the flipper - A standard room in the new wing , stay 14 nights pay 10 nights = 9,900.- baht on room only .( @707.- baht per night - A standard room in the old wing , stay 14 nights pay 10 nights = 9,000.- baht on room only . ( @642.- baht per night ) starting on the 2nd mayand i'm still in the UK -
just a thought from someone who lives on a budget all the time in the uk,many boardies have thier own opinions on the cost of living in pattaya but what has not been said(Ididn't see it)is that you will live better in pattaya on £1000 a month than you would in the UK. here in essex you would pay per month £400-£500 for a 1 bedroom flat unfurnished!,another £80+for rates £30-£35for utileties transport costs start at £1for the shortest of journeys and food costs approx£100(as long as you dont want meat, fish or to entertain) at the local supermarket sky costs up to £40 depending on pack

i hope they get around to the uk sometime soon cause it is remarkable

hi dajan17 i personaly would not come to pattaya if i was in your position unless I had a good reason to be there, like family or friends in the area, there are many much more suitable places with nice beaches in thailand that are better for "a holiday" than pattaya I am 54 so not the younger set and most of the guys I meet up with are my age or older(there are some youngsters but not very many) but we are not there "to holiday"we go to pattaya for its other charms. The hotels that are budget priced are in the main not what I think you would call "respectable"and only the higher priced hotels an

best place to shop for gems/semi-precious stones
sinbinjack replied to dani305's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
HI why would you want to buy stones in thailand like cowboysasys its cheaper in USA and even cheaper in amsterdam(and there you can get quality guarantee's so it must be somthing other than price might it be lack of import taxes and vat so you can make some money back in farang land well i do hope you are successful but unless you know a whole lot about precious and semi-precious stones you will get shafted so as they said in ancient rome caveat emptor(buyer beware) good luck SINBINJACK -

sinbinjack replied to x4p3gsu's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
hi x4p3gsu I dont know if the staff have changed a lot at the LEK since july last year but when i stayed there they were one of the reasons I liked the place so much and when i left my swimming trunks there when i left for Bangkok and gave them a call they went out of there way to send them on to me same day no charge so maybe you expect too much or they didn't like you for some reason it is thailand after all chock dee sinbinjack -
