  1. I have recently heard that Ewan Mcglashan has been appointed as the new head chef of steak & co and will be starting within the next few days, for those that don't know Ewan was the chef at Bite Me which was very popular and always had excellent reviews . I wish him all the best in his new role and hope he can achieve the same success at steak & co during these testing times.

    Visas

this is his 2nd marriage visa so i guess he would qualify under those rules. shame they changed that rule in 2006 as i was hoping to get a marriage visa later on this year under the 400,000 baht in the bank option, never mind i'll have to come up with yet another cunning plan

my brother stays in thailand with a marriage visa and he had to show 400,000 baht in the bank or 40,000 baht per month income to obtain the visa. he chose the 400,000 baht in the bank option he got this visa last september.

  13. not for a condo you have to pay for it in stages as the complex is being built or a 1 off payment for an already built condo, you can get a mortgage for a house but you can't buy the house in your name it has to be in your tgf/wifes name or if you want to take the risk at the moment through a company they want 50% deposit for a mortgage on a house and proof of income from your country. i believe this is true only 99% sure.
  14. the bungalows do look nice at the back of the sabai resort i would wager the swimming pool would be quieter there also, they also have an area in the sabai resort i think the rooms are 501-512 or something like that and they have use of their own pool, jacuzzi and only guests staying in those rooms can use the pool and jacuzzi i think the rooms were about 3000 baht per night.
  15. you have got these rooms at a very good price i was quoted 1850 baht per night (excluding breakfast) for 7 nights in march this year the rooms are of a high standard for the money you are paying only downside if you want to get picky only the bottom end of the pool(there are 3 others to choose from) gets the sun and you can't turn the air conditioning temperature down in the rooms you can only adjust the fan speed. i have had problems in the past with the sabai wing due to mini bar items going missing overcharging on my room bill, the room bill thing was partly my fault as i n
  16. i can only agree with all of the above, the first time i stayed in the sabai wing (same hotel) the rooms were 1450 baht and now they are 1850 baht i have just returned from a week in pattaya and stayed in the sabai spa resort i booked the hotel through hotelthailand.com and got the room for 1450 baht a night including breakfast i booked for 5 nights i then wanted to extend my stay for another 2 nights and approached the hotel directly they were not helpful at all they would not budge on their 1450 excluding breakfast rate they said just extend your booking through hotel thailand which i did
  17. the release date for the ps3 in the uk is 23rd march lordflash i was in the shop you mentioned on saturday and for the 20gb version it was 21,000 baht and the 60gb version 23,500 baht i asked if they worked in the uk she said any country sir. they have a nice 48" lcd in the shop to try it out on fi33er
  18. i tried to register online with scb last saturday i set up a user name and password added the cards i wanted to check online and then i clicked the next step and it told me to ring their number 02 and all the 7's when my tgf rang them up they said i needed to go to the bank and get a username and password from them but with aydyha i typed in the visa electron number completed my details and that was it.
  19. i have a SCB account but i found the ayudhya bank easiest to activate online banking with scb you have to wait for username and password with ayudhya get the visa electron card and you can register online immediately to access internet banking fi33er

  24. still no joy on the adding a thai bank account to paypal i have tried 3 banks with the visa electron cards and no joy i'm all set ready to go just need to be able to add the electron card to both ebay and paypal it does advertise on ebay that you can now add a thai bank account but still no joy arrrgh
  25. he probably had his bank account frozen due to paypal informing the tax man, my brother set up an ebay account in my name while he was living in patts (dumbest thing i had done for a while) and i had paypal ringing me up in the uk asking me if what i was selling was legit and that they suspected me of money laundering as large amounts of cash were going in and out of my paypal account i told them of course its legit needless to say i was closed down soon after. paypal have a lot of power and they were a kingsize pain in the arse (probably still are) they have way too much power and it all goes
