Pattaya Bay Resort - Deluxe Room Images
bronto replied to MC_Ldop's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Always makes me smile, everyone gets worked up about noise they cant control, yet in my experience often the most noise is from punters slamming doors at all hours, tv on loud, shouting in the corridors, etc. Happens in every hotel I know, but why dont people consider others? -
Stevoman, tread a little carefull. I have stayed here long time and a good friend lived there for years. It changed hands about a year or so ago.It used to be run by Rob a great Dutch guy, but he has now sold to 2 nutty Sisters and the place has gone downhill. Rooms not cleaned, internet not working, etc. Having said that when I was there my only major problem was the music from the Karioke and market twice a week .A room on the 3 rd floor with sliding doors is a help. I was paying 14,000 a couple of years back. Location is good and you can get aroung pretty easy if you dont mind the odd

Jeff, use ' Best Minutes' - they charge 2p a minute ! 0844 462 6464 and wait for the prompt. There used to be one for 1p, but I couldn't find it last time I looked. However, like the others you will get charged 2p for the ringing tone/ engaged tone. Still much better than BT or mobile Co's.

confused?? you said you have booked on Gulf Air and also no way will you pay that for non -direct? It is non -direct. Or have I read that wrong. Anyhow, I agree, good price for Etihad.

Hi Marleyboy, how do you go about booking a lounge for 18 quid? sounds a bargain! cheers -

I know, your going to be swamped now , but any chance ? I only have hotmail, but have been a member for a while, and I'm sure that I'm missing out on too much fun . Walking St blindfolded springs to mind . fingers crosed

Met a guy on the plane recently who was 100 % convinced that standby tickets are still available for those in the 'know'. Airlines all deny that this practice takes place any more , but anyone had any recent experience ? He mentioned Thai in particular .

Are you kidding mate? thats a bit like paying 20 Aussi dollars for a small beer , every time, every day . Unless you are completely stupid, there is no way you will spend that much in such a short time . On the other hand, if you need help in spending it, I'm willing to show you around town for a beer . We cant say on here ,but some places are MUCH better than others . Seriously mate , don't let your girl fleece you and you will have no problems, but DONT let her near the shops too often! 20,000 bt for gold ???

Anyone who reads the famous Stickman site may have seen in this weeks news that there is apparently yet another so-called clampdown on the naughty nightlife in Pattaya. Anyone there that can confirm or otherwise? Regular visits from the Boys in Brown and all night piss tests are not my idea of fun. I know these type of rumours circulate all the time, but it sounds as if the do-gooders might be having an impact. Someone put me out of my misery, before I become an Aussi cricket fan ( only joking lads !)

thanks for your reply. From what Iv'e seen, I tend to agree with you . It's only a short ride to the action, no big deal . I will make the final decision when I arrive in November . I also understand they have no water problems in VT2 . CHEERS

I'm seriously thinking about buying a condo in View Talay 2 . Anyone got any feedback from visits or actually living there? Eneukman, I think you also stay there. Can you help? maybe a cold one in it for you,if I take the plunge! I hear that the workmen are noisey 9-5 ish, but apart from that, is it a decent enough place to spend a UK winter ? Well, lets face it, anywhere has to be better than here, but you know what I mean. cheers guys. Bronto

Interested what to do all day?
bronto replied to alesypalsy's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Big Robbo, Sorry mate, don't agree with you . I spent 3 months last year in Pattaya and had a very nice time on £1000 per month .I stayed at the Dynasty and Areca Lodge - not dodgy areas in my opinion. If you go to go go bars EVERY day, tip like mad, and eat in expensive restaurants every day, of course you will spend more . On a longer term, I think we all have to slow down a little, after the first 3 weeks or so anyway. I know guys who spend a lot more, but believe me, you can have a lot of fun on £1000 p/m if you are sensible. BTW, this just covers my bills in the UK, with NO -
Thanks for the replies guys. I should maybe have made my question a bit clearer. The reason for asking is I'm buying a condo, and even a drop of a couple of baht makes quite a difference to the overall price . I would like to get about 74 to £ if poss. Agree with the points about Nationwide, used them all over the world and never had a problem ( touch wood ) thanks

Coming for my next 12 week trip in Oct. Last time got a 60 day tourist visa, with a 30 day extention in Pattaya. No problems. Just wondering if I would be better to get the Non Imm 'O' visa, to last the 90 days, from here in England . Hull seem quite good to use. It is a bit cheaper , but if you get rejected, can you still apply for the 60 day tourist without any problems? I expect it's all a formality, but any advice would be great. Cheers

The Evergreen Deluxe is usually about £ 80 each way, which is a good deal . Not sure about 'business' , but £3-400 sounds about right. If you are over 6 foot, the ED is recommended.
-
Can anyone tell me the current exchange rates you are getting in Pattaya for UK Pound ? The tourist rates quoted over here have dropped significantly recently. thanks guys
-
Sinbin, couldn't agree more with you . The other way to look at it is, imagine trying to live the Pattaya lifestyle in the UK and how much that would cost ! It wouldn't work though. I don't see too many honeys down The Crumpled Ferret on a Friday night . I spend £ 1000 per month here just existing, no frills . £1000 per month in LOS can buy a lot of fun, without going too mad . 2 weeks and counting .

Eyesi, The world doesn't seem the same since Strummer died . This week is another bad one . At least we can still listen to Joe's great music.! RIP to 'em both .
