  1. An excellent Merlin in Excalibur.
  2. Bad News Bears nevermind, I got confused about the Odd Couple guy, Walter Mathau.
  3. I did the same when I worked in Nonthaburi, NorthWest of BKK. I'd stay in a small condo during weekdays, and then go rent a room in BKK on the weekends.
  4. That's classy, when your shorts have pockets that hang out the bottom, LMAO
  5. I rode a bike along Sukhumvit Road in Banchang & Sattahip for a while and gave it up when I nearly got creamed a few times by idiots on motorcycles.
  6. Mai Zetterling (48 hours later)
  7. I'm just thinkin' out loud again, but Rayong city is also a decent place to live. There's a few places to rent right on the beach, like Kanary Bay. There's also a Kanary Bay in Sriracha, directly West of Pluak Daang. Bowin, about 20km West of Pluak Daang, now has a Tesco Lotus, so things may have improved around there since I was there.
  8. If I were a novice driver in the LOS, I would seriously consider hiring a Thai driver. It would also help with learning Thai, cause you'll have plenty of time for chatting while getting driven around.
  9. Once you travel it every day, you find the quickest route. I've got a friend who drives it 6 days/week and he gets to/from in 45 minutes. Laam Chabung is a straight shot West, but there's no beaches, just fishing huts along the coast and some restaurants.
  10. You will want to steer clear of going too deep into Pattaya then. For a novice driver, that's a nightmare.
  11. Another option is the beach town of Bahng Saan, directly West of Pluak Daang. It's quiet and there's a Central just up the road. To the South of Bahng Saan is also Sriracha.
  12. There is nothing of interest in Pluak Daang. You might find a house for rent, but if you can't speak Thai, you will have one helluva time getting things done. In Banchang there are enough things to get by on, a Tesco Lotus, and enough expats that the locals can speak some English. Pluak Daang is filled with mostly assembly line workers. There are some places available for rent that are attached to golf courses near Pluak Daang, but they are not very good value for money IMHO. That's where the CEOs & Plant Managers live.
  13. A movie a friend of mine was in when he was a youth of only 14. It's a Wonderful Life
  14. The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance
  15. I worked up in that area for a while & I would suggest you live in Banchang.
  16. Cape Fear (1990s version) Yes, he was also in the original.
  17. another 24 hours and: Shelley Winters
  18. Amazing that they wouldn't already have that number.
  19. Maybe you're better off getting a good look at the picture they have on file and then go costume up to look like that person.
