So, how do you spell the name of this soi?
LocalYokul replied to MM's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
yeah, the transliteration method that is considered official really sucks bad like spelling putt "pat" or Wahn "Van" Booa Kao = white lotus some might spell it Bua Kao in Thai Booa is spelled with a B and U sound (as in cum) and a W I never could understand why almost all Thais insist on spelling Eesahn, Isaan in Thai it is clearly a Sara E that starts to word, and it's a long AH sound at the end I won't even talk about them calling album alabum or Sultan Soolatahn or sauna saawnah and Chonburi and Cholburi would be the same if you pronounce i -
I always fold up a 100b note, to make it look like more and make sure to get your driver's license back as you give him the money

Pinewood, Nova Park, LK Mansion, or Sunshine Vista
LocalYokul replied to Hippie's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I'd pick PineWood, but maybe it's cause that's where I am sitting right now I would be interested in a comparison BTW, LK, SunShine, and Nova... -
my bet is : the TBF never left her, and is just waiting for the payoff

oddly enough, I was considering getting back into trading forex again I used to trade and do well, until Sep 11th took out about 60% of my account after that, my trading was a mental block, and suffered. now that I am a little more secure, and have some money to play with, I am looking at playing with those long dormant accounts anyone sell USD/JPY last night ?

hmm, maybe make one run to Penang and the next to Vienjun...
-
not quite you see, if you arrive with no visa and get a VOA, then you have 30 days to either extend or leave and come back again. If you do a border run 3 times, they will not let you back in on the 3rd attempt they might let you back in, but only for a 7-day transit visa to get your shit in order and get a real visa if you have a multiple entry visa, this is not a problem it's no storm in a tea cup for guys who are on the crappy 30-day tourist visas simple solution is to go into Penang Malaysia or Vienjun Laos and just get a proper 60-day tourist visa

I ma seriously looking to relocate from Thailand
LocalYokul replied to sinkorswim's topic in Expat Issues
oddly enough, I just saw mr. hide-a-bed on telly today, LOL, really -
I think that not ALL of the people making the run got 90-day visas the standard VOA (visa on arrival) is 30 day tourist visa, but it sounds like you have a multiple entry visa a one-year multiple-entry visa can be used up to 15 months when it comes near to your last day of the one-year, make a run and come back before the visa expires, and they will stamp you in for an additional 90 days

if you don't move here based on the points above then you are just second guessing yourself and you could always pull out after a year if you don't fuckin' like it
-
just goes to show, only buy what you can see with your own eyes now in the case of the Merc, wow, not much you can do about that, but wondering lawyers couldn't have helped him save the money on engine repair...
-
you should be fine with VOA, visa on arrival they are for 30 days, which can be extended at Immigration for 1,900 Baht

"agree with BHY" ;-} and I also agree with VidMan, if you've got some shite LapTop, then maybe the USB plug-in will work better

well yes, you see the stickers go right over your original keyboard, so you have no need to buy a new keyboard, or even better, you don't have to carry it around
-
it's true the telephone wires were ripped from the poles where I lived once & we didn't have telephone service for six weeks fucked me up pretty good as I was running a biz. thru the dial-up internet at the time
-
wow, if you're that strapped for cash, just stay home I've been to Pattaya during that time of year, and I can't say it was very enjoyable, just plain crowded
-
Typing Thai before learning it properly seems like a near impossibility to me you can buy stickers for your old keyboard if it's a laptop no need to buy a whole new keyboard and then bother lugging it around with you, LOL the stickers are only about 20b learning the alphabet based on the animals or objects they represent is the default method for learning Thai goh gai - chicken koh kooat - bottle etc. unless you already know a decent vocab. of Thai, I can't imagine what you would be trying to type on the keyboard

the built-in WLAN in my laptop is better than a USB attachment yes, I have tried both and don't use AIS for GPRS, my dTac sim has unlimited GPRS at NO extra cost and I have tried all TrueMove, and AIS, DTAC is simply free even for a pre-paid account

unziped just do what toopach did LOL
-
just get a 60-day tourist visa issued to you at the closest Embassy/Consulate, that easy

the rooms are real nice might even do some home cookin' in here later, cause it has a full kitchen there is no buffet breakfast, you've just got to pay as you go so I go to Lek hotel for brekky (brunch) wi-fi is good, but also had to pay extra for that... the freakin' Baht drivers try to charge outrageous prices to go from the corner of 2nd and South Pattaya road you just have to climb onto one that is getting filled with passengers, otherwise they will try and put the screws to you
