I have a 7AM flight also and I leave at 3AM. I pay extra and take the motorway less chance of a accident and I buy the driver a bottle of Red Bull. I like to keep him awake.

I like the www.majesticsuites.com on soi 4 right around the corner from Nana hotel and in the middle of everything. They have in room safe and cost about 1k per night. Guest friendly with no joiner fees.

SQ is a great airline to fly but you don't get frequent flyer miles with their low fares. If you are only flying to LOS once or twice then go for the low fare but it's a loser if you plan on comming back. I fly United and get 40k miles from Philly. It works out that I pay for two and the third one free. I'm a Premier Exec. with them so I get double miles but even if your not you would still get 20K from the east coast and it would only take three paid trips to get a free ticket. 46 days untill I'm reloaded into the Thai Matrix.

I've stayed at the Royal Orchid many times and it's a great hotel. Guest friendly and about 10 blocks from the sky-train. If your bringing the wife it's far enough from the night life that she will never see it. I have never stayed at the Westin or Sheraton on Sukimvit but the location is great your in the middle of everything. I've been told both hotels are guest friendly.

I agree with pat809. I like the in room safe, rooms are clean, ac cold and the location is great.

Check out www.priceline.com find the cheapest price for the dates you want on the web and start your bidding about 45% below the asking price. I've used them for hotels and have gotton great buys.

With the major airlines the level of service back in the cheap seats is the same. The major difference is the seat pitch.

EWR to BKK non stop. I lve in Philly and EWR is easy to get to. If I could get double miles with Thai. I get them with United. I could live with a 18 hour non stop.

Go to the Alamo Bar, soi 8 on the same side as Flipper Lodge about 10 meters away. Talk to Gary the owner. He can help you. Pay for two beers and tell him to hold them for Denny (guy with the $88USD airfare from JFK-BKK). Tell him I will be in to collect them in October. ;D ;D ;D

In room safe is electronic but owner has master key option. Room and sheets are cleaned once a week. You can have the room serviced more often for an additional fee.

Check the review section. IMHO well over 95% of the hotels in Pattaya do not have any guest fees. I always book a double. So far never a hassle.

I've stayed at the Yensabai Condo twice. Excellent value for the money. I paid 400 per night. I stayed in room 728. Good ac, cable tv, IN ROOM SAFE. Large room with a sitting area. Excellent resturant, White Knight around the corner. Many nights I came back at 2AM and never a problem. There are some gay bar's along the way. I always smiled and said no thank you. Only thing I didn't like during the day your in the sun both ways when you walk to 2nd road. It's a 12 minute walk to Walking Street. I will stay there again. Next trip I'm giving the Queen Victoria Inn on soi 6 a try. I got a cheaper price, 450 versus 500.

Why not make a bid on www.priceline.com for airfare? Check for the current lowest price and bid 30 to 40% lower. See how it works out. If I was comming over Xmas, I would book my hotel now.

The funny thing is (that's funny peculiar, not funny ha ha), while many of these gals will be completely traumatized by a dumping :'( , they suffer no qualms about doing it to guys. There's not a lot of of empathy most of the time. The BG look at us as part of their job. If the girl takes a liking to you then her feelings are a bit different and they will treat you different. I have a BG I see everytime I come to Pattaya. In many ways a great girl but now she doesn't want to get laid as much as when I first met her. When I talk to her about the changes, she tells me. I'm leaving from Philly, 6 Oct for $765 on United. Flying alot further for not much more money. Airfares are CRAZY. I tried booking a few days ago and the best price I could get was $1800 waited two days and the price dropped to $765. Same date, same routing. CRAZY.

In august you will have no trouble finding a decent hotel. I like the Flipper Lodge and Eastiny both on Soi 8. About 700 per night. www.flipperlodge.com
