  1. Good price but no frequent flyer miles. After I wrote this I checked United prices, $1300 for the same time frame. To hell with ff miles. That's a great price.
  2. I've taken my 15 y/o daughter to Pattaya Park Hotel in Jomtien and she loved it. Plenty to do at the water park and the beach was clean. On another trip we stayed at the Marriott. Matter of fact, we are comming back to Pattaya Park next June for 2 nights. Staying in BKK for the rest of the trip.
  3. Thailand has three season's, hot, damm hot and fucking damm hot. June thru August, fucking damm hot. Bring extra shirts. You will still have a great time. ;D
  4. Vanilla73, Your over thinking this and your only spending about 14 euros per night. At this price level the Flipper Lodge is a bargain for what you get. If you stay at the Flipper tell them you want a room in the back away from soi 8 and all the noise.
  5. You tend to get these cheap prices during low season.
  6. I'm bringing my family over end of June. I'm paying $1001. r/t from Philly on United. Prices always go up during the summer. They drop by the middle of September. Cheap charley loves pay for two the third one is free.
  7. I want you to stop by Sky-Top hotel, 2nd Rd. It's 30 meters or so away from soi 6 going toward soi7 on the other side of the street. Talk to Pete the owner about his PC. They are loaded with spyware, porn and all sorts of crap. You may be able to work a deal where you stay for free and square away his 4 PC. Tell him Denny sent you.
  8. What skills to you bring to the table? Lots of guys have computers that need to be fixed. Mainly software related problems.
  9. Check out www.bkktonight.com for info on Chiang Mai. I stayed there for two weeks and had a good time. I stayed at the Westin. Excellent hotel. No problem with guests. I booked as a double. Six days is plenty of time.
  10. I've stayed there. Good place. I would stay again. Check hotel reviews for more info.
  11. Rick operates a van service to BKK and all the golf courses. Good guy to deal with. 01-2923683 Tell him Denny sent you.
  12. Flipper Lodge on soi 8 for 800 per night. Flipper house, soi 7. www.flippergroup.com Pig and Whistle soi 7 nice new rooms and in room safe, 650. No hassle with bringing in guest.
  13. If your looking for a family hotel away from the night life but within 10 minute walk to the Sky-Train. Check out the Twin Towers. Full service with fitness center, pool. Cost $35USD. www.thetwintowershotel.com
  14. Pig and Whistle, soi 7. New section has in room safe.
  15. Damm hot, fucking damm hot. ;D I will be in town around 9 July thru 10 August.
  16. I usally come to Thailand 3 to 5 times a year. No problems making 50k per year except for my sore ass and after I get here, sore dick.
  17. Deal of the month gets no frequent flyer miles. I'm get double miles on United. I pay for two and the third one is free. Last price I paid was around $751. Philly to BKK.
  18. A few months ago if I remember correctly I read in the BKK Post that Thai Air has applied for landing rights from JFK.
  19. The short answer to your questions is no. You would do well to bring a tent, parka and long underwear to Thailand. This a third world country and you want to be prepared for anything.
  20. New owner and NO deposit policy. Pete has told me that when high season is over her plans on painting the rooms and installing in room safe. Same pricing as before. www.skytoppattaya.com Pete: 07-1501905 available 24 hours I have no business arrangments with the new owner.
  21. Delta is running a buy two r/t tickets in the USA an fly free anywhere they fly. Check www.frommers.com for details. American is also running this special.
  22. Cheshire Tom, Remember it's a 450 per night hotel with new ac, beds, mattress and the walls need to be painted. High speed internet and new pool table. One has to balance what you get for what you pay. Ib at the RG told me last year he had to start asking for deposit because of all the no shows. I don't kow if he did start this. It's not just the owmer of the Sky-Top who has started doing this. I AGREE the deposit is a JOKE and I told the owner I would not pay it the next time I come to town. IMHO, it's still a good buy for a low end hotel. Stop by and see for yourself and let us all know what you think. PM me when you hit town and we will get together for a drink or six. I was up front about my business arrangment with the owner on another deal.
  23. I think you guys are a bit harsh when you refer to the owners policy. Your told up front and it's up to you if you want to send the money. FWIW, Rippoff is when a guy will book a hotel for two weeks in high season and doesn't bother to cancel his reservation and the hotel is stuck high and dry. That's why hotels require a deposit. No shows brought this on.
  24. Update on prices. They have gone up to 450 for small room and same increase on other rooms. Owner doesn't accept credit cards. He requires that you wire tranfer a fairly high deposit in my case $200USD and it cost me $30USD for the bank cost (ouch). I've looked at a few other rooms and they need a coat of paint and the ceiling tiles are shabby. The rooms are clean. I would downgrade my recommendation from excellent to good mainly because of the wire transfer.
