  1. Check out www.pattayarentaroom.com I stayed at the Yensabai Condo couple of times and it was a more then decent large studio condo.
  2. Ride with me and it will only cost 830. See ya saved 170.
  3. Check out www.pattayarentaroom.com . I rented a condo for 12K last year. Prices have gone up but they will deal in low season.
  4. I was there 17 days ago and they were doing good business.
  5. Residence Garden is on the baht bus route. No hassle getting into or out of town. I never stayed there but a lot of guys like it.
  6. With the cost of gas at all time highs, I would book right now. I fly Philly to BKK and $700.USD is a good price. I usually fly United.
  7. I've stayed at the Marriott with no problems. September is low season and I would book one night for a double and let the staff know that I have many GF that will stay with me. If they want to charge a joiner fee. I would find another hotel the next day. Next trip, I'm staying at the Pig & Whistle, Soi 7.
  8. ROLAND, You need to stop looking at your shoes when you walk. Makes it alot easier to check for your name on a placard.
  9. I'm in BKK early 8 July and want to share a ride to the Pig & Whistle, soi 7 during the day. I plan on booking Alex. He charges 1660. including tolls.
  10. Why not have your friend call Thai customer service in the UK and have them send out a upgrade coupon? I had something similar happen with United and they were very helpful getting another 2 for 1 coupon out for my daughter.
  11. When I arrived at the airport 11:30PM on 28 April, Alex had one of his drivers meet me. Excellent attitude needs work on his English. Car was clean and the price had gone up $4USD. I had no problem with it. I'm willing to pay a bit more for reliable service. Coming back I use the taxi mafia. Sometimes you get a good car/driver or you get a maniac who thinks he's driving a Porsche not a clapped out Nissan. This time as luck would have it, I got the maniac. I'm glad the road was dry
  12. Thanks for the response. I thought I would be in a meeting near the airport that day but not to be.
  13. I'm in town and will meet you. Where is Kiss?
  14. Looks like I made it to Pattaya. The flight was uneventfull and Alex sent his driver to meet me at the airport. He was on time and the price is 1640 or so. I gave the driver 1700. I'll be in the FLB around 8:30 tonight.
  15. There are many ways to get to Pattaya, Alex is one way and I'm glad to see that other guys have posted other companies that provide good service. We all benefit when guys exchange up to date info. FWIW, I don't receive or ask for a commission on any of my recommendations. One time Alex did buy me two beers as his way of saying thanks for the business.
  16. I emailed Alex tbsinfo@ksc.th.com and he replied within six hours. I asked him to personally pick me up at the airport 27 April 10:50PM. He said he would try. When I talk to him, I'm going to let him know about the guys who were stiffed by him. He will lose a lot of business because of it. We shall see what we see.
  17. Like the proverbial bad penny, I'm back in Pattaya. Came across a dynamite airfare on United this morning for $640, Philly to BKK. Ran it by the boss and she said hell ya, book it Dano. She told me she's gettin tired of lookin at my cheap Charley ass. So I decided to haul ass to Pattaya and take a look at the LBFM ass. If I'm over jet lag, see ya at the FLB on the 28th.
  18. I'm in country from 27 April thru 11 May and I may be comming thru the airport around 14:50. Do you have room for one more?
  19. FWIW, I stayed there and it was a good buy. Flipper Lodge is another good place on Soi 8.
  20. Tom, I would think the KLM metal would be OK as I would trust their maintenance procedures compared to Garuda. When foreign carrier's fly into the US our Federal Aviation Administration has some stiff maintenance requirement's that they have to meet. I would imagine your equivalent FAA has the same? I wonder who does the heavy maintenance for Phuket Air, possibly Thai?
  21. Have you tried booking ORD to LHR to BKK to ORD? What about Priceline or Hotwire? I know it tough to find deals in the summer for flights from Philly to BKK.
  22. I was in Pattaya during Cobra Gold last year and there was 0 problems with the GI's. They were well behaved and Pattaya a big town so they spread out.
  23. Back in the cheap seats they tend to be the same as far as drinks, food, etc.
  24. One guy PM me and asked, If I drink whiskey will the alcohol kill the germs. Yes but. When you drink the whiskey and say coke as you finish the drink. The alcohol level goes way down and as the ice melts the contaminated portion of the water goes up.
  25. Speaking now as Sgt BigDUSA, US Army Medical Corp, Preventive Medicine. Don't drink the tap water or the ice in bars. I use bottled mineral water for drinking and brushing my teeth. The Thais opened a waste treatment plant about 18 months ago in Pattaya but god only knows if it's in operation. National government built many plants but the local government doesn't have the money to operate them. One day I walked by a ice making facility and I walked in and took a look around. They were freezing tap water without running it thru filters. I used to inspect these facilities when I was in the Army and I know what to look for. Later that day I saw the company trucks delivering ice to bars on soi 8. Most farong oriented restaurant in Pattaya have water filters in the kitchen. The question is do they change them out regularly.
