One bedroom condo or suite for month of March
Sailfast replied to Sailfast's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Yea, you are correct, I will just ask for the discount. However, they do know me and the guys I travel with very well. Finding out someone got a better price just naturally pisses me off. -
One bedroom condo or suite for month of March
Sailfast replied to Sailfast's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
They quoted me 39000 for the month of March. Considering I am a repeat customer and book groups of up to six guys at a time, that just pisses me off Did you have to ask for the lower rate or did they offer it to you? -

Thank your for that. I just contacted them. Maybe you can post your opinion and some better pics than they have on their website, if you have time -
Anyone know of a NICE serviced apartment, condo or suite for rent during the month of March? Must be at least one bedroom and have a balcony. Non-smoking is fine as long as you don't mind me enjoying a cigar on the balcony. In Pattaya Beach Rd or between Beach and Second would be ideal. I arrive in Pattaya March 2nd and will check out March 30th. I'm a Residence Garden fan, but, no raise or bonus this year... so, if I can find a better monthly rate it would help with the old budget Thanks in advance.

Well, yes and no. The sales, measuring, final fitting, and billing is done in the "tailor" shop. The actual clothes are made someplace else. Kind of like buying a car.

Have you been in the hotel business before? I don't think you are going to reinvent the wheel when it comes to bookings and payments. Many hotels are flexible with bookings, cancellations and payment. It's the cost of doing business. Flexibility today with a cancellation policy and the guest may very well return when they can. Try just one time to hold them to something and you will lose them forever. As for pricing, well, that's why hotels have a rack rate that is often much higher than a reserved room. You walk in off the street and need a room now, you might pay a premium.

Honesty at the Residence Garden
Sailfast replied to beefos's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Look at the top of page and you might notice you are in the "Hotel and Accommodation Questions" section. I can show you a knockoff piece of shit Chinese made novelty that one would wear as a joke and might not make the plane ride home. Or, I can show a variety of quality made replicas that (depending on your budget) may have Swiss made works and a Rolex pro might not be able to tell it's not a US$30,000 watch till he gets the back off, and even then he might be willing to repair it. Just as in Hotels and guest houses, your idea of value is many peoples idea of crap. I would not stay -
Honesty at the Residence Garden
Sailfast replied to beefos's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
First off, do you have to Hijack every thread with your opinions about shit that barely pertain to the subject? He was not asking for your opinion on his purchase. Second of all, I am far from a knockoff expert, but even at this distance I can tell that you do not have a fucking clue of what you are on about. Google it. Anyway, back to the Residence Garden... -
Honesty at the Residence Garden
Sailfast replied to beefos's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Depends on the quality Grandpa, depends on the quality...Anyway, what where we talking about before... Oh yea, sorry about that (shhh...he's a bit daft). Residence Garden: It's gotten to the point where I rarely lock anything up when I stay there, unless of course I'm out for the night and bringing home guests. Probably stupid of me, but cameras, cell phones, laptop, ipod, all get left out in the open and I don't worry a bit till evening rolls around. Not smart I know, but the place is like home. -

Looks like it went through some translation software.

That layover in Frankfurt is like 9 hrs if memory serves me correct... eek! Much better off with a Cathay Pacific flight through HKG with a short layover. Flights in the low $900 range are easy to find. ANA just ran a special for $910, but I think that's over now. If you want a cheap flight out of NY and are not bothered by a long layover or an extra stop, try doing it the old fashioned way with a travel agent in Flushing/Queens/Chinatown. Some of them come up with some crazy cheapo prices to Asia. Chinese and Korean guys I work with always laugh at the prices I pay for a flight.

I don't think I'd go as far as spartan, then again, I 've never been to Sparta. (sorry I just couldn't stop myself) All very bad jokes aside, and I know it's all a matter of opinion, but I would not classify the RG decor as spartan. The furniture could be upgraded, but I would not add much too it. I like the open feeling in the living area and the bedroom furniture is just fine the way it is.

In the first thread you started there where several mentions of seperate bedrooms/living area in a location between Beach and Second Road. Is there a chance of this happening? If not, kindly tell the hundreds of Residence Garden fans that you won't be luring us away. If you are interested in a business model that works, maybe you should take a peek at the Res. Garden. It has everything I want, but the location is not so good and the price is just a bit high.

Affordable one bedroom suite/apartment type rooms, ala Residence Garden. TVs in the bedroom and living area. A nice touch is to have a sheet encasing the blanket on the bed. The option to remove mini bar items, or even better, a cabinet above the fridge with a lock to put the items (prohibiting girls from raiding the expensive wine coolers) Affordable mini bar items would be nice. Some hotels I know keep the price around the same as 7/11 Large in room safe, big enough for most laptops. Jaccuzzi tubs would be great, in some rooms. Black out curtains are a must. Maybe a few big rooms wi

LK Mansion is OK. I stayed there for a week in March. The rooms are pretty big. The bed was firm. IMHO, the room I stayed in could use a coat of paint and a bit of TLC. It was not bad though. The website says 800 baht/night. I think I paid 900 as they said they only had a "better room" available. Nothing special about my room though. Next time I would stay at one of the places on LK Metro such as Armegeddon or Rockhouse, etc. I didn't stay at either one as they where booked, but I had a look earlier in the month and some nice rooms available at a fair price.

If it is at anything above 0% then you have been warned about something you posted. The rules are pretty simple. Ignore the trolls and it's even easier. One has to work pretty hard to get a warning here. http://www.pattayatalk.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=8053 http://www.pattayatalk.com/forum_rules.html Oh, and start a new thread if you have a question that is not related to the topic you are replying to.

Residence Garden Suite question

Looks nice, but it's claim of "a few steps from the sea and the famous walking street" need to be revisited...it simply ain't that close. -
Residence Garden Suite question
Sailfast replied to nchristian's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I think it's a nice walk. However, some people think that a 10 minute hike is too far. I often walk from the RG to the Soi 2 area for a soapie. It's a damn fine feeling after that walk Even the beer tastes better. I would say to give the RG a try, if you don't like it, you can always move. -

Sailfast replied to berettakid's topic in Airline Discussion
My G/F flew Orlando Fl to BKK. She was not too impressed with the food or service. But hey, you got a much shorter flight so maybe it's not such a big deal. -
Done two trips on Cathay and two on ANA. Cathay is great, but the...err... JFK to HKG crowd is a bit rough around the edges if you know what I mean....lol All those screaming kids, spitting on the floor and throwing trash everywhere...I'm in Flushing Queens hell. The reserved, polite Japanese business traveler is so much easier to handle.

ANA is a very good airline IMHO. The service is great and the food pretty good. Also, seatback entertainment and free booze. 2-3 hrs in Tokyo each way is long enough to take advantage of the airport showers and have a walk around checking out the Nipon hotties in the airport Must use ANA's website to book the cheapest way. I know $910 is not the lowest of the low, but it's a damn good price for a damn good flight.
