  1. Just back from LoS and flew with Emirates, Manchester - Dubai - Bangkok. Booked with e-bookers and still got a good price with shorter stopovers, (about 2 hours on the way out and 1 1/2 hour on the return). The flights are available if you look around, booking early also helps, I booked my christmas flights in September. I'm now looking at flights for July and the short stopovers are still available. Cheers Tallguy
  2. Lots of good advice here. Only thing I would add is don't leave it too late to book. Prices generally seem to increase about a month or so before the date of departure. If I was booking for mid-February I would want to have something booked in the next couple of weeks or so. Keep looking at the booking sites and if you see a deal that suits you for price and flying times go for it. Have a good time. TG
  3. Agree with Malaka. Its sad because I used it as a local and had many good times there. However, even those of us that liked the bar realised that you could not realistically keep it going in the long run. Good luck for the future and hope to see you in December Cheers Tallguy
  4. Have a great night mate and good luck for the next year. Had many good times at both cherry Bars over the last 11 months. How was Fred's party at CB2 last night? Hope everyone had a great time and you made afew baht. Cheers Tallguy
  5. Back in the UK now so I'll miss this one. Came into TQ2 on tuesday night about midnight to say goodbye but you weren't there. Have a great night and good luck for the next year. hopefully i should be back in Los this time next year. Cheers Tallguy
  6. Had a blast at the last one. Unfortunately will not make this one as going to Koh Samed for a few days. Dao is definitely a great place for a party and the girls are great fun. See you on Wednesday when the FLB crawl comes to the darkside. Cheers Tallguy
  7. Thanks for this very comprehensive response. The info re pre booking is something I have picked up on the boards. I want to go this weekend so will probably try to pre book something. Thanks to the other guys who responded as well. Cheers Tallguy
  8. Cheers Monty I know you have to have accomodation booked separately before arriving on the island but you can book it separately through sites like sawasdee. Im going to visit a couple of travel agents today anyway as might be able to get a better deal than what sawasdee have available. Yup I am planning to take a lady with me but not songkran. For songkran I am going upto Khon Kaen to see Dr Mick. I'll PM TP . Cheers Tallguy
  9. I am thinking of spending a few days on Koh Samed but hotels seem expensive or do not have particularly good reviews. Can anyone recommend anything in the 1500-2000 baht range which I hope will be enough to get me something reasonable. Thanks Tallguy
  10. Bodega bar, corner of second road and soi post office. 50 baht in happy hour, 70 baht after. 75 baht for the dark beer. cheers TG
  11. I have been living in Jomtien since September and hardly ever visit the bars there. There are a few bars around with some decent girls, Take Care Bar and Cosy Bar normally have some decent girls and Country Roads is also good if you want to relax with the girls and have a couple of games of Pool. Fantasy Bar is also worth a visit for some of the cheapest drinks in the Pattaya area. Tammy at Yellow House Massage on soi 6 is also worth a visit. If you want ithe type of experience you get on Walking Street or sois 7 and 8 then Jomtien is unlikely to be for you. However, if you w
  12. Same same me. I was in the PBG on saturday and sunday around 4pm and there was only a small number of FLs there on each occassion, (2 on saturday, 4 on sunday). In addition I did not see anything around, such as any additional signage in thai even, to indicate that there was a promotion. Cheers TG
  13. There was a topic about this on pattaya live. I think it was re-opening on 6 Jan but might be worth checking if anyone is planning to head out there in the next few days. TG
  14. I hope you have a mate to keep you out of trouble in LOS
  15. I normally stay in soi 2 area and have been in Gullivers Pattaya on many occassions. Normally I have been in around the 5-7pm time and the one thing I have noticed is that it is not the same as Gullivers in Bangkok in that there are no freelancers around. It seems to be patronised by groups of guys having a few beers and a game of pool and couples staying at the Amari and Dusit which are very close. I don't know what it is like later on but I suspect it is in the wrong part of town to appeal to FLs. Overall I think its a good place to go for a quiet beer, to catch up on e-mails
  16. Alexist When I was in Pattaya last week Adam did say that he had had some computer problems recently. i.e his computer had been repaired and then broken down again, so maybe he is still having some problems. Cheers Tallguy
