The OP makes reference to when the restaurant first opened he is not referring to a recent incident. In any case I think the restaurant changed hands about a year ago. I don't know who the current manager is but would've expected that to change as well.

If this a general query about people's response to poor service I think it's unfair to name Jolly Friar because of an incident that happened several years ago. The waitress is unlikely to still be there. If your complaint is about Jolly Friar it's a bit late to complain after all this time. In response to your query I tend to brush off individual incidents of poor service but take my business elsewhere if there is a repeat. I feel that one of the features of the places I go to regularly is that I get good service.

Definitely worth a look if you don't want girly bars. A few places with live music, places to play pool, good places to eat. It depends what you are after.

After visiting Spankys in Nana last night I have revised my opinion. I went in there last night around 10pm and there was a good fun atmosphere. There were a lot of girls in there some of whom where very attractive and some who were average. All the girls on the stage were topless. The key thing was the amount of interaction between the customers and the girls which created the party atmosphere. By contrast I had previously been in Angelwitch which had more girls, including a few who were very attractive, but although I prefer the music in there the atmosphere was a bit flat because of the lac

I used the online reporting for the first time yesterday. I submitted the information just after 8 a.m. and took a note of the transaction reference number to check progress. The system says that immigration have 7 days to approve the application but I got an e-mail at 11.35 am saying the application was approved. I don't have a printer at home so had to go to an internet cafe to print out the next appointment slip. I did have some minor issues at the first place I went to because there default browser was Google Chrome and they had an old version of IE which the Immigration site did not lik

So we are supposed to be spellbound by 'my name Saa come to my bar'.Frankly she has to do a lot more than post a one liner to get people in the bar. With so much competition in town customers need something to attract them to a bar that they may not be aware of or,as in my case, they no longer bother with because it was over hyped by previous management and provided a mediocre experience. Some idea of what's going on in the bar would be useful; special offers, type of music being played, shows etc. Despite what MM thinks some pictures of the girls would also be useful, after all that's what w

Looking at it again, the sign uses the long 'uu' vowel rather than the short 'u'vowel. Try looking up 'luuk' in the dictionary rather than 'luk'. I found it in my dictionary.

Luk, (look), is the classifier for a round(ish) fruit, la means each. So 2 baht each is correct.

The guy in the LK Metropole was pretty good. Can't remember exact prices, budget for 4-5k baht and possibly more depending on the cloth and any special requirements. -

Travel Agency for Emirates Airlines in Pattaya?
tallguy replied to Patna's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
If you mean an Emirates office then I am pretty sure the answer is no. If you mean an Agency that deals with Emirates then there are probably quite a few. In the past I have used the agency opposite Metro Apartments on LK Metro, I think it's called GM Tours, to make changes I couldn't do online. -
Agoda works never used booking.com. Used sawasdee.com and Asia rooms before as well, both efficient.

Had the Philly cheese steak delivered last night. Loads of beef and plenty of onion and pepper. A meal in itself.

Thanks for the clarification Jacko.

The Shenanigans in Jomtien has been there for years. As far as I am aware it was a sister bar of the Pattaya branch. Not sure which one opened first, I seem to remember someone telling me that the Jomtien bar opened first but wouldn't put money on it. TG

Walked past again today about 7.30 pm. Definitely open but only two customers. Beefeater seems to be doing really well while Big Horn looks like it's struggling.

Walked past Big Horn about 6.30- 7.00 pm tonight and it appeared to be open, albeit that the only people inside looked to be the Thai service staff It might have been early but Beefeater was already doing a roaring trade. The notice in Thai looked to be the ubiquitous 'staff wanted' request you will see outside many establishments. TG

If you are going to Pnomh Penh I think you will find that Air Asia is significantly cheaper than Bangkok Airways. It depends on what value you place on a few snacks.

It's still operating. The new owner has actually made some alterations to the bar and made it more comfortable. Don't know about the rooms. You might even recognise a few of the staff from you're last visit -
I think you're in the wrong thread MR Atlas. Have you seen the pantomime joke thread? 555
