Yes I have to agree, the seafood is excellent here. There is one that I like on Walking street where you can sit out on a pier and choose your own and they cook it for you.

If you have a doctors certificate, it is not classed as either work or holiday. That is by law. It is classed as a sick day. Unfortunatly most cmpanys will only give you so many sick days a year, unlike europe where if you are sick, there are unlimited sick days. Unfortuantly Australia has gone downhill for the workers since the Howard government got into power.

That is normal work legislation, I am not to sure if it is only NSW, or the rest of Australia. As long as you have a doctors certificate to say that you where sick for those days that you where on holiday, your employer is obliged to give you those holidays again.

After reading the posts on this board, I would not even bother about renting a bike in LOS, especially when all the action is accesible with the baht buses. Not to forget the amount of deaths and accidents on the road in Pattaya. It is just not worth it.

I can also recommend an excellent taxi driver that I have used four times, 1200 from the airport and 800 to the airport. including tolls. I have used him four times without a problem. I can recommend Rosie O Gradys pub in Soi 7, great rooms, right in the middle of the action, ony 750 bhat per night. I am doing the same as you, I am booked into the Nana on the 25th then I am heading down to Pattaya the next day. I arrive in the morning so I can have a sleep then of to the Nana bars for a takeway.

There are some nice ones there I must say.

I am starting to like the area myself, there are a few bars there that I will go to on my visit, one is Barlyn owned by a middle aged couple from Yorkshire in England. Great little bar, they do a great food and are excellent hosts. Another one not far is Lloydies bar, great atmostphere and some good girls as well. I usually only make about one or two visits up there in a week but I will try to make more when I am back this time.

It sounds as though something is not quite right to me. I would not put it past the owner knowing someone to steal the bike for him, let him do the police report. Get the money from the person who hired. After they have gone, the bike turns up again.
