Never buy Thai baht in Australia, the cheapest way to exchange ozzie dollars cash is in Thailand, actually the airport money changers run by the banks are much better than the Travelex thieves in OZ. If you use an OZ credit card you will pay the TT or sight bill rate, which is better than the cash rate in Thailand, and everywhere else also.

You got that back the front, Chevrolet get theirs made by Isuzu, Ford get Mazda to make some Ford models, and Dodge get Mitsubishi to make some for them...There are very few Ameliacn anything driving around japan. .Best buy is usually always Toyota. quote name='short' date='Mar 18 2008, 10:58 PM' post='550337'] About trucks: Isuzu is a Chevrolet Mazda is a Ford Mitsubishi is a Dodge Why wouldn't you buy a Toyota?

If you have a visa stamped in your passport then that is used on your first entry. You can then come back for another 30 days after the time you leave on the first visa. You cannot do the other way round, cannot ask for 30 day free visa and then use the stamped visa the next time. Multi entry is the way to go, most consulates will also give you two entries , at double cost of course.

You mention that your wife has Brit citizenship, so presumably she has been there a while, so look into whether she can import the car duty free as a returning resident. Your circumstances are a little different from the farang retiree etc. Also look at pissing both of them off, you can buy a Jag in Thaialnd, and repairing a Triumph will be a hand in pocket experience if you can find a good mechanic who doesn't retire off your hobby. And Jap cars are better built than a Triumph anyhow, and possibly the Jag, depends on the vintage.

Try Bangkok Dental Hospital, they have web site.

There won't be one hanging out of one of the palm trees, but a target for you could be coffee shops. Starbucks has it but charges, Coffee World in Bangkok has it for free, just buy a 65bht coffee and you can sit all day. Don't know if they have branch in Pattaya, they also seem to sometimes share shopfront with Subway.

I have a real fair dinkum thai post office box in Bangkok. Just ask a trusted thai friend to get one for you, it costs about 170bht per year, and anyone can pay the renewal that is put in the box, and mail can be addressed to anyone, like yourself. If you get there and stay long enough you could even ask a bargirl to do it for you, but then you have to stay friends until you get the box. Remember to get all the keys.

Retirement or Long Stay visa for people under 50...

Thaivisa.pdfThe Sunbelt setup is basically an employment/business reference, it is a loophole that will be closed. Don't bother with the Elite Card, it is a sham and was an idea of Thaksin and will most likely be axed. Don't expect a refund, they have changed many parts of it since initially selling it. Why not just get a 90 day visa each time you return to the states, and then you no need bother about any shennagans. -
quote name='monsterman' date='Jan 9 2007 Beware of a certain expat second hand car dealer , who sells very dodgy motors with no backup, (intercar). Just curious, did you deal direct with Martin or with Mrs. Som??

Your mate Meechai is suing the dealer for one of two reasons: a. He is silly, he should contact Mercedes Benz(Daimler Chrysler) they are in the phone book. Unless he ran it out of oil and it threw a leg out of bed he will be covered. b. He bought a grey import, that is, it is not an officially imported Mercedes and maybe the dealer is not an authorised dealer, then no factory warranty. There are also vehicles from japan brought in like this. How I know this, I was a reputable Mercedes dealer for 30 years, they will honour warranty, even if it is sometimes a dodgy claim by the cu

If you want the job then push the Phillipines. Yes, they are all educated in English, but the accent is less noticeable than the Indians, and you sure as hell do not want to live in India,or do you? English would be a problem in Thailand, and the other places where english is widely spoken, HongKong and Singapore are just way too expensive. Mainila is not so bad a place to live either, so I am told, never been there. I have occasion to talk to a call centre in Manila almost daily, and the girls are heaps easier to understand than the indians I have encountered on other calls.
