Come on guys - I was just pointing out that the OP ignored the risk factor, and you can get great returns if you bet on a high risk, long shot like roulette. The Stock market is just like a casino - You pony up your money, and take your chances. -

I'll second that. I noticed that he included bonds from General Motors and Ford - Now theirs a thoughtful choice. Both are on the verge of Bankruptcy, and generally, bonds are the last to be paid off. After summarily reading the post, there was nothing mentioned about risk. You can have a 3,600 percent return if you put your money on the roulette wheel (assuming your number hits) -
As I remember, there was a "Mail Boxes Etc." or similar on Second Road, as well as one in Jomtiem.

I tried, but was unable to buy a ticket to the U.S. for my wife, originating in LOS. I then went to a travel agent and found that they were not cheap, due to the fact that the U.S.$ is in the toilet.

The real question should be - When are they going to get the next few ships? Lets hope that it will not be 2 more years.. -
I stayed there shortly after they opened. It was fine, clean and quiet with the basic room. It is right in the middle of the Soi so you have a little walk either to Beach Road or 2nd road. It was nothing special, but O.K. for the price.
-
When I lived in Jomtiem, I did just that. They were not advertised, but if you nose around, there were several available.
-
It is a single entry - Not the best for a long stay. First I said up to 2 years - Arrive using a a tourist 30 day visa Extend it 15 days in Jomtiem Do a visa run and get another 30 day visa Extend it 15 days Do a visa run and get another 30 day visa Extend it 15 days Do a visa run and get another 30 day visa Extend it 15 days. Do a visa run and use your 60 day visa Extend it 30 days in Jomtiem Do a visa run and use your 60 day visa extend it 30 days Do a visa run and use your 60 day visa Extend it 15 days. Do a visa run and get a 30 day visa Extend it 15 days. Do a visa

I don't think that you can renew it in Thailand - Only your home country. They used to issue them in Singapore and Penang, but I have read that this is dicey now. I got mine in the U.S. as a 3 entry visa and if you mix 30 day visas with it, you could get up to 2 years or so with it using visa runs. As a practical matter, you probably would be going back to the U.S. at some time for holidays, meeting with the boss, etc. and renew your multiple visa then.

I tried to do the same in Pattaya a couple of years age, and failed miserably, as you cannot rely on the quality of the Internet connection. For Voice calls you not only need a reliable connection with good upload speeds, but jitter, minimal delays and packet loss were unacceptable. You can try this site to test: http://myspeed.streamguys.com/myspeed/test/mssvoip As for the visa and tax questions, I was advised not to worry about the taxes, as I was not getting a paycheck paid directly to Thailand, and it appears that I was just a tourist on extended vacation - When I lived in Pattaya, I

The World Bank has nothing to do with this. Several hundred years ago, the Dutch Guilder was the Benchmark currency that all Countries referenced their monies to. Then it was the U.K. Pound, and now it is the U.S.$. Like it or not, that is the system. Good question - IMHO, political, nothing more.

This may surprise you, but I don't have a clue. I have never flown for a Airline. -

It was a beautiful plane to ride in and look at. Be objective here, they spend billions of dollars designing it and sold maybe 10-15 of them. How could it be anything BUT a failure???? -
It is my understanding that not all Condos can be legally purchased by foreigners. Only if 51% of the owners are Thai, then the remaining 49% can be then owned by foreigners, as it was explained to me.

Stereo Lounge Anyone tried this place?
MrMango replied to wedge95's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Really? Have you stayed there? You might want to disclose any interest that you might have. -
Me thinks that you are exaggerating a little here. A few years ago there was almost none who moved to Cambodia, now there are is a trickle. They have a long way to go to catch up, as they lack all of the infrastructure of Thailand. IMHO, of course.

I rented a Condo in Jomtiem that was 29 Mtr Sq. For one person, it was big enough, but with my TW, it was too small.

Don't be such a cynic. First, It's against the law, and eventually the truth comes out and the guilty pay. Second, I have personal knowledge in the electronics market there is fierce competition and free markets there. As for Boeing, I doubt if the government would bail them out, just arrange a "shotgun marriage" with a suitable partner. -
You could check with a Consolidator. They require no advance purchase and I have found that they always beat the airlines price. If you wish, PM me and I will give you one in SFO that I have used.

What time of year was it? During low season, I saw a flight for under $800.

Sure you can, with a few caveats - Most public email programs such as hotmail, yahoo, limit the size of your attachments. You may have to send each picture in a separate email!. There are various public sites that specialize in uploading pictures (photobucket, etc.), but check to see that they do not limit the quality of the uploads, as well as the content - Some will not allow any porno.

Come on, a MOA is a binding agreement.

It's not quite that simple, IMHO. First, you are adding a Major NEW problem when you install a potential explosive (High pressure inert gas) that is now illegal to carry. Second, simply by keeping the tank full during takeoff solves the problem. Why make it more complicated?
