The Hard Rock Hotel makes absolutely no secret that it does not encourage the Single Male tourist who is in to the Pattaya P4P scene. More for families & couples me thinks

Try A Travel Agent When ever I need to purchase flight tickets in Pattaya; following a recommendation a few years ago I have always used Narin on second road opposite Pattayaland. They follow my instructions to the letter, get me on the plane and issue the tickets as soon as money chages hands. They are bound to have authority to act for Qatar-Air. In the event they are not, then try an agent within the Arab quarter. NARIN INTERFACE L.P 194/6 South Pattaya, 2nd Rd Opp Thai Military Bank Tel....038 410040 or 723160 Fax...038 723161 Email: nif@loxinfo.co.th

In a City who's number one client is the single male ''sex tourist'' that is an unusual attitude Then again, perhaps they target the family market. Similarly, I have seen a sign by the pool at sky beach condo which says; No Service Girls Permitted In This Area

Mind Resort - Boutique Hotel in South Pattaya
pentire replied to Scatter's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Mmmmm, I have to say it looks real nice although being a night person the location would be less than ideal and it gets bloody hot it that part of town due to a lack of sea breeze etc. -
You are right Fatboyfat Slight exaggeration on my part. Although they have now upgraded to much nicer biz class seats with even more leg room & wrap around head rests.

The Penthouse Hotel in Pattaya is cockroach kingdom I kid you not, they are all over the place When you come back to your room from an evening out and put on the light, it's like Kings Cross Station in rush hour.

If you are spending a day or two in Bangkok then you wish to proceed to Pattaya, then ask the tour desk at your hotel to arrange your transport. For 300 Baht a mini bus picks you up then takes you to a bus depot where a large A/C Coach then transports you to Sin City terminal, then another mini bus drops you at your hotel. Total journey time is around 3 hours I know it's not for everyone but it shall certainly appeal to those on a budget who don't want the hassle of finding the right bus at Ekamai.

If you have purchased the discounted Dynasty Class at around £1000.00 then your baggage allowance is officially the same as economy however, I always buy this ticket and although I only take hand baggage to Thailand, my bags on return weigh over 30 kg. At the biz class check in at Bangkok Airport they never mention it. If you have purchased the full fare Dynasty Ticket (aprox, £1850.00) then you have a 30kg allowance which in reality probably means 40kg. My hand luggage usually weighs around 12kg and is a lot smaller than some of the bags the Louis Vuitton brigade bring on board.

No such problems with China Airlines in Dynasty Class, infact I am amazed at the size of some peoples cabin baggage. Obviously my ticket costs twice as much as economy passengers and as a consequence I like to take advantage of all those little benefits which this price includes. For instance, quite apart from quaffing gallons of Champagne I always aim to exit Bangkok airport & be in a taxi within 10 minutes of the door opening. Therefore, I never check in hold baggage on my outward leg and being one of the first off the plane I usually win the race to get to passport control ahead of th

I love Thailand and I adore Thai Women and after fifty trips to Thailand in over 20 years I am better qualified than most to at least have an opinion however, before you set your heart on spending the rest of your life with a Thai babe, you need to spend a little time in understanding what goes on ''behind the smile''

Different Airlines have different policies and different airline employee's have different attitudes or authority. Also clearly, the person requesting the upgrade needs to be of suitable standard as Marshall explained in his piece. On long haul I need a biz class seat so I pay the (discounted) fare and while I am sat in my regular seat near the door, it is incredible how many passengers approach the purser (who is usually standing near my seat during boarding) to discreetly request a free upgrade. The Purser then either explains that the biz class cabin is full or yes that is possible for

No respiratory problems or hay fever effect me while I am breathing in that sensational warm sea air I go for a decent run every evening along the Beach Rd promenade and then following a good few beers in the evening, I always perform the obligatory bedroom breathing exercises

Worst time of the year for my asthma here in the UK is Spring, when I also suffer from Hay Fever Therefore, purely for medicinal reasons I go to Pattaya for a month where I never need to lay a finger on an inhaler or anti-histamine tablet. My Doctor told me that is entirely the proper thing to do

There is a notice on my letter box which says ''No Junk Mail Please'' I use anti spam software on my PC and I block all pop up adverts. Now I must remember to ignore any thread started by deanjames trying to ram View Talay down my throat. Incidently...You wouldn't happen to be one of those guys who follows up the information with a morning phone call, which the touts on Beach Road have obtained from tourists would you ? You sure are persistent, I'll give you that

deanjames; Presumably by advertising on this forum you pay a fee for the running of this site

Both of those inhalers and many others are available in Pattaya at most of the Pharmacy stores without any prescription. I always stock up while in Pattaya and as a result I have them all over the place. The price is similar to the UK however, it saves the hassle of getting a repeat prescription.

Back in 1995, I departed Patttaya by Taxi for the airport at around 9pm and I was back at the hotel checking in again by 4am the following morning I even got as far as the final departure lounge when I approached the China Airlines ground staff to have my bag removed from the aircraft I told them I was not feeling too well and i could not possibly sit on the plane for the next 12 hours feeling the way I did. They fined me around 10,000 baht and I had another 2 weeks in Pattaya.

Lookin for cheap hotel (Beach Road)
pentire replied to anto24's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
For stays of a month (except peak season) I would suggest you would expect to pay around 550-600 per night. Last time I stayed there it was for a month in June/July 05 and I beat them down to 550 per night. To do this I threatened to check out if they did not oblige Be Firm Yet Fair With Them. Also don't forget that the location of the J-House means that you shall keep public transport to a minimum. -
I once knew a guy from California who made his living behind the lens in the motion picture industry then retired to Pattaya. He once told me he was involved in shows like; Charlies Angels, Chips, Castaway & a John Candy movie called Speed Zone. He purchased some land near Jomtien then built a nice open plan villa however, he returned to the states for a holiday some 4 or 5 years ago and has never been sighted in Thailand since. Any one know what happened to him ? Name-Gary Glouner.

Lookin for cheap hotel (Beach Road)

No one shall have it because it does not exist. The Owner is too stingy to invest, eventhough I have explained to her the extra income & occupancy it would create Anyway, the fact that they do not have a website usually means you can turn up on spec and check in. They do have a telephone (038) 420852, 414453 & Fax 429446. The J-House has 30 rooms and the second floor means less stairs to climb plus it's only a 30 second walk from a major Bar area -
That Northshore development has been the biggest start, stop, start projects I have ever seen. I would estimate that it has been under construction now for 10 years. Must be a money issue
