Before Nui 2 closed down the side street off Walking St I used to have a regular order of food off the vendors just outside200 baht for a right mixture for the girls in Nui whenever I went there. I dont know what the local price paid is by the girls is but I do know they get one hell of a lot for 200 baht plenty for about fifteen people. therte used to be barbq everything, bugs, sticky rice and kanom. Since Nui closed that gogo the vendors have moved on, shame.

That sounds like not quite a fully ripe chillie and its the little black seeds that are the worst part of the chillie

Just ask them for their bank details so you can do a transfere, I know in Thailand you can transfere money via an ATM but I dont know if you can do this in UK you may have to do it at a bank. It is very difficult in Thailand to take credit cards "Customer not Present" because of the frauds.

ting_tong poskat is right, 5 baht for everything. Apart from those big sausage about 6" long and 1" wide they are 10baht and bloody nice with a bit of spicy sweet and sour sauce

guismo11 Why not use their own web site Hotel I often stay at either of these two hotels, both are very good and visitor friendly. Just make sure when you book in that you book a double room so they dont try on charging you for a guest. Also they dont tell you that there is a discount card that you can get it costs 350baht and I get a room at the Royal Palace with the discount card at 800baht a night instead of the walk up price of 1100baht. also dont have breakfast at the hotel as it finishes at 10am invariably I am not a wake this also reduces the room rate. More details are on their web site, both hotels are owned by the same people

The best places to buy the snap from is the carts that are NOT on the main runway of falangs the ones down a side street are often the best and cheapest. Buy on Walking Street and you will be charged four times what you will get charged in one of the sois' just off WSt Just another bit if you want the food NON spicy ask for "my pet kap" it means "spicy not politely"

sea fishing from the piers
JollyMan replied to floppyjack's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
One bar that does organize fishing trips (with Captain Dang) is the Shamrock Bar pattayaland Soi 2 opposite the Penthouse Hotel. I have been on a few and they usually cost about 1000baht for the day including packup start at 6am from second pier and you get back about 6pm. Captail Dang is very good at finding the fish as his boat has all the latest equipment and a big bonus is saftey there are enough life vests on the boat for everyone (just in case) Take your own beer and ladies no problem. -
likeki I just wonder what some of the bigger ones would do ???

how do you stop a bargirl in Pattaya having sex Marry her

Hey Bigfoot dont get me wrong when I get caught I have been speeding if i have not committed any crime I dont give in and say i have done nothing wrong I dont just give tea money over, but if you are guilty expect to pay .
-
I go Petchabun to Pattaya a couple of times a month 500mk each way and I know where most of the BiB hang out so keep an eye open but when they do stop me always for speeding I pay with a smile say maipandri give over 100bhat or 200baht if they insist on giving me the paper. But all it is in my opinion is a get there quick toll. Apart from that can anybody tell me the official speed limits for CARS on the various roads and where does the within city limit finish. Remember the speed limits are different for pickups, lories and motorbikes One final thought about 28 Thai speeding fines = one UK speeding fine but still no points

Sinbinjack I know just what you mean I was towing a four wheel caravan through Paris and no idea where I was going, and didnt see any other caravans, not as bad as a 44 tonner though.

I am with you on that one driving in Italy is the worst in the world one city in particular. Potenza just South of Sorento they have traficlights that can show what ever colour they like and trafic takes no notice, one area no pavements so padestrians run from doorway to doorway to avoid the trafic. No lanes what so ever no white lines, the last time I drove there was about six years ago and I still bear the memory. Next to potenza I would say Bangkok, Paris and Rome rate good seconds.

Doug You have made the right decision I came to Thailand just over four years ago and now live in Phetchabun in my own house (in wifes name - divorce settlement up front) re the internet the 512/256 is so much better for not a lot of cost, the land line phone calls cost 3baht connection and the monthly rent is 100baht but watch out for friends and family using the land line especially for premium rate calls, they are bloody dear. On the internet do you use Skype because if not it is brilliant and better than the phone for making calls to UK. Have a think about a drinking water tank rain water is beautiful and you collect it off the roof of your house for free. I put mine in a 20lt bottle and through one of the cold water dispensers. £100 a week is plenty in the villages in fact more than enough I know a friend that lives in korat he has no car mind and he says £50 is all he can spend in the village in a week. All the best Mervyn

Having driven regularly in Thailand now for four years, I can honestly say that the driving in Bangkok and Pattaya is crap but it is still surprising to me how few accidents that there are considering the amount of traffic, yes the bike and cars go at a hell of a pace but after a while you get some idea of the mentality of it all. Imagine a brainless idiot is driving whatever and you have it just expect them to do anything and there are no surprises when driving. One thing the drivers are not used to is aggressive driving and the Thia's do tend to chicken out, well most of the time anyway. One hint for driving is always keep 200 baht ready for the copper and don't bother with the paper work it saves so much time and trouble. Go to driving in the provinces and it's a different kettle of fish, chickens and dogs and cows don't understand that cars don't stop from 70 MPH at no notice the animals tend to wander out from nowhere, and as they make big dints they have right of way. oh a major rule to Thai driving is "Might has Right" the bigger the better driver you are. Drive at night and it's quite interesting coming up behind a smoking lorry with no rear lights you just cant see through the smoke and it disguises the outline of the vehicle. In the last two years I have driven 80,000km in Thailand and the car is still in one piece but I also know that to repair one panel and have it sprayed is 3,500baht each, tyres are another matter and if you are intending to drive fast check them as some roads leave a bit to be desired this tye gave way at 160 kmph on a motorway and still saved the rim I was lucky it was a back one.
