HELP needed for Hotel Recommendation
soibj replied to dry_gin's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
There are quite a few accomodations in this price range you should try searching around this section or the hotel reviews for some better answers, it is almost impossible for someone to remember them all. -
300 Baht for Minibus/Bus Pattaya-DonMuang
soibj replied to dibidabi's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya

Thanks Samsonite, I guess this is out as one of my travelling companions needs that connection.

Apparently the guest policy is fine. I just got an email from them regarding my question. The e-mail is pretty strange, but what do you expect. They said that there is no problem with bringing guests. The charge is if you bring a wife/girlfriend who is constantly staying there. WTF does that mean I mean I understand it but I just don't see the logic in it at all and I'm guessing they will change their policy in the near future so watch out. If I have trouble I'll report.

300 Baht for Minibus/Bus Pattaya-DonMuang
soibj replied to dibidabi's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Yes I realize that, however if you look at the scanned receipt above it clearly states to show the receipt to the the Flipper Lodge on Soi 8. However this is really silly cause it is comparing apples and oranges. This service is not private so enough said. -
Samsonite, Sorry if I'm a blind ass but does this have Internet Connection? And wireless or wired? Router or LAN type?
-
Thanks you helped me out a bunch. Apparently they do have a single and double now. That's really fucked up When I made my reservations in March they didn't. I am in the process of asking the resort directly to see what kind of response I will get. And I did check now and then between then and now, so apparently it looks like they are moving away from girl friendly. A double will cover that if that's the case, but I ain't paying more they can

Thanks pschodad, I will be staying here as well in a couple of weeks. Not sure why people always count the workers not understanding English as a con in Thailand. I have only met one person in the past 3 years of mongering there that speaks really good english. They did not work in the travel industry and I have yet to run in to one hotel worker who works in resorts in Thailand that speaks well enough that you will not run in to problems. So two choices, either they can employ more who learn English well, which I highly doubt. Or learn some thai.

500 THB for a double? Does it say that on the website? I didn't notice. I'm pretty sure on the review of this hotel it says that there is a wired internet connection.

I agree with the posters above, also depends what kinda action you want. Walking Street, Soi Yodsak, there's so much I don't know the names. Personally I like anywhere on Soi 13 the best so I can go either way depending on how I feel IMHO much easier to go either way from Soi 13.

Unfair? As you can see in the below, it is possible that it was a mistake. If whoever is wrong they are wrong period, I don't think either of the people in question are perfect, now are they? It has mainly been stated that Mr. Toom has been utilized by many and all positive reports and this is the first negative so take it as you see it. If not go chill out get and get a on soi 6 or something.

Hotel Reservations Online or in Pattaya?
soibj replied to bane718's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
absolutely agree, to help you a little further a "rack" rate is your walk in price. Also if you decide to go through Precision Reservations beware, the costs are very hidden if you look at the fine print. The tax's are not included in their prices. Thus the reason it is so cheap. However there are times it still will come out cheaper, you just have to do the math. Best way to tell is email the hotel and talk to them whether the online rate would be the same as the walk in rate. I just did it for Whitehouse Condotel where I'm staying in a few weeks. -
It's the safer of a few destinations I've been too, and all the other's were in my own country. You do have your risks, of course, kinda loaded question. If anywhere were 100% safe I would think it would be utopia. So really the choice is yours.

I agree, this is the first time I have heard any sort of negative comment of Mr. Tooms service. And will not change my using him in a few weeks.

OK JW MArriot 4 Sukhumvit Road, Soi 2, Bangkok 10110,Thailand

I agree, with all those freelancers in Nana parking lot, if I did have a car in LOS I wouldn't wanna park my car there...People sleeping on it, leaning on it, denting the shit out of it and who know's maybe even stealing from it. Too get a more specific answer I think you should mention your price range or limit as I saw two very different price ranges on this topic already.

300 Baht for Minibus/Bus Pattaya-DonMuang
soibj replied to dibidabi's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Thanks. That is the clause and IMHO is a very big one indeed. Very different private transfer versus picking up numerous passengers. I'd rather take a bus from Ekkamai or Mo Chit at least I can spend less time picking up others. -
300 Baht for Minibus/Bus Pattaya-DonMuang
soibj replied to dibidabi's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
That's why this is so cheap, there is a clause this is not any type of public transport for everyone, this is only for guests of the Flipper Lodge period. -
300 Baht for Minibus/Bus Pattaya-DonMuang
soibj replied to dibidabi's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Do you have a website there, cause this sure sounds like a wind up. That sounds a little too good to be true. I've never ever heard of anyone who transfer's BKK to Pattaya sounds too cheap. -
I don't agree. For one thing, Conrad and Sofitel are in two absolutely different leagues in class and cost. 2nd, yes the do tend to lean to charge joiner fees at most like i said most higher establishments. Of course not all. See the part that says usually? however that is up to the original poster to decide.
-
IMHO, that location is horrible. Its at the very end of the BTS line by Chatachuk. http://www.asiarooms.com/thailand/bangkok/...tral_plaza.html I would rather stay close to the Asok or Nana BTS station or somewhere centralized near Patpong. The problem with the BTS is they close around midnight which if you're way down Sukhmvit that means a taxi back for you. However the traffic is really mild by the time the BTS closes. I'm not positive but it's probably not GF, usually high profile hotels stray away from making their establishment's GF.
-
Too far from the action IMHO. Yes that's the same line as the MBK line. However it actually looks like a quite decent walk from the skytrain. Here's a useful map for you AJ http://www.bts.co.th/en/map.asp

I absouletely agree or even if one wants to or not want to cook for themselves just as I think when you are paying for breakfast (included in the price of your room) and don't actually ever use it is also a big waste of money.

excellent review, my friend also stayed in a suite in Jan-Feb of this year, but he only had negative comments. I think your report is much more open minded and honest.
