Stayed there in August this year extensive building works were in progess. Pool was empty and it looked like a new wing was being constructed. I,m hoping to get out in Feb. next year and wonder if anybody has any info. as the noise was a bit loud. I stayed on the 2nd floor near the front and the noise was bad Cheers Doug.

Great place for a couple of days relaxing. Would not book through a travel agent as very expensive. A air. con. room with fan and T.V. cost me 400B last July.

Hi, Flown with Emirates before and booked for next year with them. Service was great and a 3hr stop of was great for a old bugger like me. I found that tobacco and booze was very cheap in duty free but cameras, gold etc. was cheaper elsewhere. i.e. 200 cigs. 25 good cigars and a litre of Glenmorangie Malt was £20. In Man. a litre off Glen. cost £23 by itself. I paid by credit card and was pleased when i got my bill for £20.35. Cheers Doug.

Hi, johnson, This year i stayed in the Royal Asia Lodge on soi 8, The cost was 870baht + taxes, far better than Nana Hotel,even with a 3 to 4 min walk from main road, but they have a free Tuk tuk service from the hotel to the main road and when returning have a telephone at the top off soi 8. Had a mass. [smiley=3some.gif] and was very impressed. Food is not to bad. If i classed Nana Hotel (which is only 2 sois away) as 5 out of ten i would class R.A.L. as 8. I'm coming out next year for 8weeks [smiley=1luvu.gif] So I checked with expedia £646.10 with Finnair from Man. travelselect.com £693., I've tried ten other web sites, in the begining they say from a price, and then say there lowest fare is not available even though I checked 3 days either side of my departure and return dates. The best i got was Emirates £564. (Forget Turkish or Aroflot I would not even consider them.) I know if i want to go to LOS for two weeks i can get a package deal for 3 nights in BKK 11 nights in Pattaya for £560 all in from T.cook. But hell who wants to go for

Hi Jack, It all depends which way your flying. If your going by Emirates I've found in Dub. they are the cheapest for booze and Fags about half the price of BKK. Cameras etc. i've found cheaper in U.K. than in Dub. I priced a Fuji 601Z in Dub. £450 tax free, in U.K. i got one from Jessop's for £420. Cheers Doug.

Hi aj. As far as i know a 30 day visa if your from U.K., or certain other countries,are free. If you want to extend your visa, for 30days visa you can extend 10 days, it was 500B. according to the Pattaya Post as from the 26 Aug. 2003 this has gone up from 500B to 1900B. Other types of visas have increased accordinglly. My friend's son was one off the people arrestted for overstaying, they state that they bought there visas in Thailand in one off the islands, you cannot get a visa for Thailand in Thailand, you have to get it outside the country. Hi, Thanks a lot for you help. For the past 7days if've been checking the internet, about 3Hrs a day, for flights from the 2 July for 8 weeks. Also making return date flex. The cheapest i found was £446 with R. Jordan fom Lon. Living in the Isle of Man, flights do not go to Heathrow now BA has taken over, this means I'll have to pay £30 extra to get to London, travel across Lon and on way back stay overnight in a hotel. Chris, I agree with you. Very good hotel, clean, no road noise. I,ve stayed there for the past three years before going to Pattaya, this year I payed 870B, great service. There is a free TukTuk service from the main road via a telephone link, but it only takes few mins. to walk. Just left [smiley=crying.gif] But will be back in 9 months

Hi Eddie, If you are only staying for 2 months is a condo worth it. I have just stayed at a very good hotel for 46 days in Pattaya. It had 6ft beds (not two joined), good a/c and fan, T.V. and D.V.D. player, free D.V.D's from bar, maid service every day, i.e. sheets and towels changed, tea and coffee (replenished every day), and room cleaned, in room safe, security guard at night and very pleasent staff. It is only 2mins. walk from the beach near Central road. This cost me 24,000B. if you rent a condo you might have to pay for electricity, water and maid charges, is it worth the hassle. I

S V I agree with you about the seats. I've you are in seats 30 or above they have a extra seat in the row. I'm not big but it was cramped.

Stayed there in July 2003. Was not impressed and will not stay there again. I've posted a review in the hotel section. (as of this time it is not published) If you arrive after 2330Hrs. stop of at a store and get some tea, coffee, suger and milk as they are not provided in the room and room service stops at this time.

Travelled to Pattaya (via BKK) with Austrian (lauda) Airlines. I would never travel with this airline again. The service and food was rubbish. My flight was fron Manchester to Ven. to Bkk. It ended up Man.,to Heathrow, to Fran. to Ven. to Bkk. The fair was £501. But I enjoyed my 8 weeks in Pattaya [smiley=grins-jump.gif]

Hi Paul, My two mates went out from Man.With Turkish Air mid Jan back end of Feb. price £436. There not pickie eaters but they said the service & food was awful. [smiley=crying.gif]. On the way back one hour delay in landing, circle the a/port in Turkey because off snow [smiley=flamethrower.gif]. This could happen to any a/line but trouble came later. Hi, Just to let you know of my troubles with this airlines. I've been going to BKK from Heathrow for the last four years and have had no problems at all. This year Manx Airlines have been taken over by BA and they no longer fly from the Isle of Man to Heathrow. I decided to fly from Manchester with Austrian Airlines.
