Oh Dear http://www.courier-journal.com/story/news/2017/04/10/video-shows-man-forcibly-removed-united-flight-chicago-louisville/100274374/ So, you pay for your flight, sit in your seat, get picked by a computer as UA have fucked up their booking process and overbooked by 5 PAX, refuse to leave your seat and then get your face smashed in by the Police. Nothing like a nice bit of Customer service eh?. Apparently this is a shitstorm in the USA and is costing UA millions already.

No spoilers MLC, i'm still on S02, I've actually had to go back to the start because all of a sudden Mrs Butch wants to watch it!. I saw Hacksaw Ridge yesterday. All I can say is that it is well worth a look, I found it well acted, well paced and well directed. Maybe Vince Vaughn was trying to be too much like Gunnery Sgt Hartmann from FMJ, but my friend assures me a majority of Drill Sgt's are like that anyway.

We had the season finale of TWD Monday. Quite the anticlimax IMO, poorly scripted and not a very well structured episode. With these kind of programmes I tend to cut a bit of slack when it comes to the storyline and plot, but the plot holes in this episode were pretty much beyond belief. The quality of the writing of TWD has declined IMO. Back when we had the "terminus" episodes and pre / post governor it was an enjoyable series, and to be honest I'm pretty much done with this now, it's going nowhere and as it is now taking a direction away from the comics, perhaps it's time to skip S8

Give them a call, they might be able to advise you a bit better as they can be used to purchase duty free etc (not sure if only on board or if inside the Airport) We use Cathay all the time but have never had any delays or reason for vouchers handed over in lieu of, touch wood.
-
OK cheers anyway, it's not for me as I'm still (relatively) young and kind of fit (touch wood) but a friend is moving out there permanently in August and was asking abut healthcare etc.

sounds like you're meeting for a pre arranged punch up like we used to at school ! Jacko, do you know if they operate a scheme in the Philippines mate?.

TWD has really suffered in the last 2 eps, it's going nowhere fast. We've seen one ep with Rick and michonne finding loads of weapons, food and ammo and an awful cgi deer, only to hand a chunk of them over to the people at the scrapyard, along with a brief interlude at the Kingdom with a very weak storyline. We then have a Sasha / Rosita love-in where all is forgiven for shagging ginger chops. Then Sasha, instead of doing what a sniper would do, such as waiting, misses one opportunity then decides to enter a hostile compound armed with a sniper rifle and 2 bullets. The episode was awful, i

What I can't get my head around is the apparent lack of interest by the owners or people opening these businesses. I remember going into Amazon (mentioned earlier) and I recall the girls being bored, the 2 farang managers sitting around totally uninterested. If it were my business and living on the line I'd be much more pro active in getting customers. What happens? I mean someone throws several hundred thousand baht at doing the interior and exterior up, signage, stock and staff only to watch it all fall to pieces within a month?. Surely there is adequate caveat with the persons with whom

Hi all I know I'm not an expat in LOS but I can relate the situation of a good friend. Back in 2001 he retired with a not insignificant lump sum of cash, stuck it in the bank at just under 9% PA and enjoyed the fruits of that interest at 73 baht to the £. Today, the lump is smaller, the interest on UK ISA's at the moment is less than 1% for most of them and we all know in which direction the exchange rate is going. His income is less than 1/4 it was back then, but he has had 16 years of fun off the back of it!. Times are hard now and set to get tougher. However, even when we're in gai

Here's the interesting thread on Pprune: http://www.pprune.org/rumours-news/592517-lap-top-tablet-ban.html Seems even the pro's don't know what's going on.

Blue Lagoon, I was trying to think of the name and myself and a friend went in there on the opening night! Quite a big venue but as you say, sadly not very long lived. Another one I remembered with the help of my mate was called "Amazon" which was on the left side of where Dollhouse was I believe. Freeway a GoGo on Pratumnak was also short lived but excellent when it was open.

There was one on Soi 8, on the left past Sailor Bar and under the "canopy" which only lasted a few weeks, plus one or two on WS whose names I've since forgotten. However, as my memory is shot, bonus points for names and longevity. I'm going for the Winchester GoGo which was upstairs where "goodfellas" was (I think). Didn't last very long but was actually very good when it was open.

EVA are pretty unhelpful as well I've found, Might be worth trying Thai (which I imagine you already have) or even BA as they have a direct service BKK/LHR and their ticketing dept , while being useless at answering phones in a crisis (Volcanic ash victim here) are actually useful during normal hours. It is a shambles, but surely some of the Expats here might be able to put you onto a decent TA in Pattaya or BKK who might be able to work a better price out.

Winn Schwartau wrote a book in the 90's / 00's called "Information Warfare" where he touched upon the electronic device ban. He said even then that there was no cause for alarm, but did actually go on to mention that instead of worrying about an accidental incident of a device interfering with the avionics, what if a terrorist or an enemy agency actually designed one to do precisely that. He said that by inferring the systems were vulnerable to accidental problems, what we actually did was tell every baddie that there was a very large and exploitable vulnerability.

Hi Henk Welcome to the forum. You are right, in many cases early booking pays off. I usually start looking 8 months before and make a note of prices, then at the 6 month date I try and book.

yeah, and your neighbours are fed up of it! (apart from Grace, she's 88 and doesn't mind).

Being presented with research is fine, but interpreting that research is something else altogether. Also, it helps if the research is factual in the first place.I take it you don't nor have you ever worked in the Medical field?. Anecdotal evidence is never reliable, especially when reported via the internet. Also your statistics are way out, winning the euromillions or getting LDK to buy a round of drinks are about 1 in 140 million. If you can't quote accurate stats, why should we give your post any credence?. If you are a druggie using shared needles, then the chances of suffering from one o

White Emmerdale Farm House Street - Reality Show
Butch replied to Bullfrog's topic in Idle Chit Chat
you're showing your age now Bullfrog, Emmerdale Farm dropped the "farm" bit back in the 90's!. -
I agree with you both regarding Taboo, it was let down slightly by the speed that the ship managed to leave dock, plus I also felt that the series might have been one episode too long. Other than that I really enjoyed it and it made a break from the norm. There's a new series debuting in the UK soon called "genius" about Einstein, starring Geoffrey Rush (Pirates of the Carribean) in the lead role. Better still, Ron Howard has directed an episode (only one so far ) but it seems to be getting good reviews. I've totally dropped "Legion" just couldn't get into it. for my non fantasy fi

I watched a doco with Nigel Marven the other day about venomous snakes in the Philippines (and wished I hadn't) He picked up a Tokay and it took a big lump of flesh out of his hand. Apparently they can bite really hard and latch on. My biggest fear are rats, I hate them with a passion. I see enough of them inside the cargo holds of ships, running about in the Philippines and I never knew the scale of the epidemic of Beach road until my last trip. I was chatting to an expat during a break in my morning jog, now I'm not sure if this is true maybe someone can confirm / deny, but they apparent

Sounds like a regular night on Walking Street.

Me too MM, Me and the Mrs would binge watch 24, saving up the episodes for the weekend. I still maintain the third series was the best. I was slightly disappointed with the last series though, it seemed that the "rinse and repeat" strategy failed and it just was far too weak in parts. I'd love to have a night out on the piss with Kiefer, he does have a reputation for enjoying a wee drink now and then...

I gave Legion 2 episodes and have had to give up on it. It's just not doing it for me. The latest SS-GB episode was very good and developed the characters nicely. We are now beginning to get an idea of running plot lines and the decisions the lead has to face in the coming episodes. Now that Taboo has finished (no spoilers) It was a refreshingly good, well produced and well made production. There was some great acting, well developed storylines and an enjoyable ending. My only complaint was Oona Chaplin did overdoing it during the dramatic scenes which is unlike her, but at least the

Fargo is bloody brilliant, but sadly Mrs Butch really doesn't like it or appreciate the humour, so I've only seen the first few episodes!.
