Vague and who are you accusing exactly?. Surely on a discussion forum, a discussion about a business is purely that, otherwise it could be construed that every topic mentioning a business is an "advert". It sounds that "they" are accusing someone who perhaps writes reviews of restaurants / hotels / bars doing so for financial gain. Good luck proving anything, and while they're at it I suggest "they" report everyone who's ever written a Tripadvisor report on a Thai venue at the same time. looks like you're doing a bit of trolling to be honest.

Residence Garden and FLB/Pattayatalk: room rate termination
Butch replied to MM's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Hi Odense To be honest my friend I often thought they didn't smile often enough, and the girl behind the counter who worked for Ib for years was always miserable, I can't recall her ever smiling at me, despite her being very attractive. Maybe I have an ugly face lol!.- 29 replies

Residence Garden and FLB/Pattayatalk: room rate termination
Butch replied to MM's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
RG is and always was a good value for money option, but I'd ask if it has had a refurb recently as it seemed to need a lick of paint. My only other complaint was the ignorant arseholes who insisted on slamming their doors to their rooms in the early hours. I do recall watching a massive thunderstorm one day turning the whole road into a river, and sitting drinking afternoon tea with PSP and Liz while it rained sheets and sheets. Good pool, unhappy but efficient service staff and a decent rate makes the RG still a very good choice.- 29 replies

Foreign Criminals in Thailand
Butch replied to Evil Penevil's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
I tend to agree with the above sentiments, Mrs Butch works and earns, but back when I was supporting her she did scrutinise every penny going out (as we didn't really have a pot to piss in) , but never asked a question as to where it came from (not that it came from any nefarious sources, apart from the occasional "bonus"). -
Foreign Criminals in Thailand
Butch replied to Evil Penevil's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
It is as far as I'm aware. However, I think it's the ahem...how can I put this...stuff like "lost paperwork", "other priorities" and "resource issues" which might or might not lead to the alleged possiblility that hypothetically some supposed criminals might slip through the net through no fault whatsover of the upstanding and honest Thai Police and Judiciary system which is absolutely without question in it's clarity and forthwright application of both moral and criminal justice. The fact of the matter is that a majority of intelligence is now shared between agencies, but as to whethe -
Many thanks for the replies chaps, most helpful. The PC will be used for surfing, emails, spreadsheets and streaming content around the house, so nothing unique or specific to Win. Samsonite I'll make a start by going through the links and gaining some knowledge as I go along. As Gary and Odense have both mentioned it looks like Mint will be ideal for my needs. One last question before I go searching , I run avast firewall and AV and sit behind Private Internet Access proxy servers (when I can be bothered to connect!), I trust Mint or Ubuntu can runn these spplications with ease?.

Hi, I'm going to be getting a new PC soon, I have the option of Windows but I'm not a massive fan to be honest. I am now considering using Linux because I've been told it's come a fair distance over the last few years, but I've not actually done any research on it myself, just going by hearsay. Just throwing this out there, has anyone or is anyone using Linux and if so, what is the interface like and is it a worthwhile and stable OS? Cheers, and virtual beer in advance Butch

Not bad at all, although it's a one stop 14 hr flight those are possibly the cheapest out there at the moment, good find!.. Their Manila prices aren't too bad, just over 500 sovs for October in economy.

Spam links in "Recent Status Updates" bar.
Butch replied to Butch's topic in Technical problems or questions.
Hi fellas Sorry for the late response. MM it was a post with 3 separate links in it, http link to a site which flagged up as being malicious on my AV which ended with a .ly domain, plus 2 others with no discernible or recognisable URL's , however I have seen similar ones before usually on mobile pop ups or redirects from other sites. I did actually post it here but deleted it myself in case of the possible danger that it might be clicked by someone accidentally -
Hi Chaps Again a user by the name of shamcurtin ha posted a link in the status bar on the RHS of the page, it came back as being suspicious on my AV. I sent a Mod a message about it, but it isn't the first time it has happened as a similar event took place before Xmas iirc. It doesn't bother me as such, but I'm just worried someone on a mobile might accidentally click a malicious link or something which takes them to "pop up" hell.

This might be a bit controversial.listening to Radio 2 interview last night on the way to work, Rick Wakeman was being asked about this track, apparently Lennon and Mcartney fell out because it was supposed to be a ballad rather than a pop song. I personally like this version, and I feel it is done adequate justice in this piano interpretation;

Great review EP, thanks for sharing.

That's the best bit of advice and best investment any man travelling with their Asian parnters could ask for. I spent a few quid on mine from "Lakeland" about 5 years ago, since then the £15 investment has paid for itself numerous times over. Up until then I didn't know what 30kg of " Mama Sita's crispy fry" looked like. Darkman, that's a shame Etihad have declined so much, I was considering using them instead of Cathay for our next October trip to the Philippines since Mrs butch used up all our accumulated miles upgrading herself (well, her seat, not herself lol) last year. going from wha

I went on the LHR-KUL leg years ago when the A380 was just a week old. I would consider this however: When you look at the map of that part of SEA, KL is South of BKK, so the plane effectively drops South of your destination, adding time to the journey, you then have to catch a hopper back North to get to BKK. It takes 12h50 to get from LHR to KUL whereas LHR to BKK is just over 10:30 (in reality), principally due to the route of the plane. Malaysian is a good airline, the plane is excellent and there's a report I did on it somewhere here, however illness during the flight meant I coul

Simple, one of those airline elastic blindfolds (Sleep masks) work wonders, plus a set of foam earplugs perhaps. I sometimes work nights and the sleep mask I have (ebay, less than a fiver) blocks out all sunlight so Mrs Butch can come and go into the bedroom as she pleases and no light penetrates at all, it's good enough to sleep in the day even with the curtains open. Doesn't take too much getting used to as they're soft and comfy. noise wise then a set of wax earplugs, but some people are heavy sleepers and don't need them.

Brilliant, professional sound system as well, and the food is exceptional and very well priced indeed. We expect to see a couple of youtube links later on Dog.

Cheers Jacko That's enough for me to save my money, especially as half the memory is reserved which effectively gives 8gig, which is the same as my xperia. Although the disadvantages are slight, the interface alone would be enough for me to chuck it in the bin after 10 minutes. It also looks too fragile for everyday use within my work environment. I'll spend the money on something useful instead.

Hi I've got a 50% off voucher on a huawei p9 lite, but I've read some pretty damning reports about the reliability and robustness of this particular make. I currently use an Xperia Aqua which, although it has little in built memory is a damn good piece of kit for what I need. I also read on a hackers forum that there is a backdoor written in the software which sends information such as contacts, messages etc back to a server in China. As I'm a former 007 Special forces black belt ninja wanted by the CIA, FBI and the STI with a huge bounty on my head, this bothers me a little bit - well ac

Good point MM, I and I'm aure many others recall the discussions which then led to further examples of 2 tier pricing, plus the usual gamut of "heroes" who only paid 5 baht (when in fact they always paid 10 - same kind of guys who get the girls for free etc). I always find having 20 baht notes taking over the space in my wallet , because they're often given in change from bars instead of a 100 baht notes, they'll give 5x20's (for tipping reasons obviously). As I'm a tight cunt I'll always make a point of grabbing the whole lot and leaving the ickies (loose coin change) or if there is none,

In truth Dog you should have realised that David would destroy a whole rack of ribs and still have space for more. I'm getting hungry now , and those ribs look simply epic.

I know it's not connected with Thailand, but Qantas will start the direct route in 2018: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-12-11/qantas-to-fly-direct-perth-london-in-17-hours-with-dreamliner Longer direct flights will begin to become popular I think, after a bit of googling there's been a few over the years, and recently Air India changed direction of it's Delhi- San francisco route to add 1400km to the flight but decrease flying time by a couple of hours ( due to advantageous tailwinds), ans Singapore Airlines might reinstate the SGP-New York (SIN-EWR) route which used to b

To the tune of 100%?. Actually it really wouldn't bother me, as I get pissed off at carrying 10 baht coins around in my pocket all the time. Sometimes I've got 300baht's worth weighing me down like a deep sea diver, at others I can't find one for love or money, so unless they re introduce the 10 baht note, I'm not too concerned.
-
If we all maintain the 10 baht price and stick to it they have no choice. It'll keep Gabor happy because I'd much rather save 10 baht and then negotiate a 500 baht discount on a S/T from a lonely stretchmarked mother as it's a useful and productive method of spending my time while on holiday. Everyone's a winner, the Thais know their place not to rip off farang, prices remain low for the next 20 years and only the LDOP group of asians manage to fuck all the pretty girls and drink the decent drinks because they can afford it. I'll take sloppy 3rds and cheap drinks any day of the week!.
