The cheapest flight from Perth to Bangkok,is Royal Brunie.{ $750 to $900 AUD} I pressume its the same in reverse. Although there are always specials from Thai,Malaysian,Royal Brunie. Unfortunately,i have to say forget Qantas, our national carrier,as they are more expensive than all of the above. Ned

Socalguy, Interesting post. A mate of mine sent an email to Areca, over a week ago and no reply, which is unusual for them.So he gave up and booked through the net travel service. Try and book through res24,its 100b cheaper also. Or just call them, its not that expensive. Ned

Can you buy viagra in Pattaya
Ned Kelly replied to silverspur3's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
There are dozens of Pharmacies in Pats. and they all sell what you want,no script required. Ned -
Not correct. Ive stayed there 5 times, you can smoke everywhere, pools, lobby, bar areas, even the restarant has smoking and non smoking tables. Smoking in the room itself is not permitted, but is allowed on the balcony and ash trays are supplied for that purpose. Ned

300 Baht for Minibus/Bus Pattaya-DonMuang
Ned Kelly replied to dibidabi's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
This Bell Service is a fucking rip off,and i got caught once. The trip from Nth Pattaya bus station, to the airport is 150Baht on the same type of coach, and thats direct,no stops in Bkk,and no changing buses. Taxi from Pattaya to Nth Pattaya bus station is 20 B,max. I was told by the agent in Soi Diana that it was a DIRECT MINI BUS service, from hotel to airport, what crap. They did nt count on me coming back 2 months later.and fronting them that they were ripping off Farangs. I reported them to the TAT,and this service was removed. Ned -
Same with me,i better change my name to Emma,or have my fingers redesigned. Ned

New Hotel at Tims Beer Bar?
Ned Kelly replied to kingfisher's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
KingF. I walked past there on March 15,and they were still gutting the place. Are we talking about the old Best Friend Hotel,or something like that? Ned -
I live in Perth,so it costs me between $700 and $800 return,on Royal Brunei Its cheaper for me to holiday in Asia than on the East Coast of Aus. Ned

Areca standard double rooms
Ned Kelly replied to Steffe's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Steffe, The rooms are exactly the same, including the beds. The Deluxe room has a pool view, big deal,i will never understand why punters want to stand on a balcony and look down at a pool, when they can be swimming in it. The deluxe from memory has in room safe also. But the standard rooms are very adequate, exactly the same as Deluxe. Ned -
Flew from Australia to Bangkok in Nonember 2004 for $700AUD In March 2006 it was $710AUD Ned

I always stay ay Areca Lodge {across the Soi from Metro},but i ventured over to Metro out of curiosity. It looks pretty good, but i love to hang around the pool during the day,and when i checked out the pool at Metro i was shocked,it was TINY. So its a no go for me,anyway i dont think you can beat Areca. www.arecalodge.com

Areca Lodge and 2nd Road
Ned Kelly replied to maxpower1971's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I agree with BigD,i always stay at Areca, and 2nd road is busy, but not a problem, If youre in a wheel chair or on crutches, forget it. The pedestrian crossing as anywhere in Thailand, means fuck all. Mate your coming to the biggest Male playground in the world.the last thing you want to worry about is crossing a road.. Ned -
Pauly 77, Why on earth would you book into Areca, and look at other options? Areca has TWO pools,TWO saunas,a huge breakfast for TWO,is VERY girl friendly, and ten minutes walk to Sois 7/8 or Walking st. You can get Areca for 990B a night through booking agencies on the net, including the above. Anyway,Up To You. Ned.

Mind Resort - Boutique Hotel in South Pattaya
Ned Kelly replied to Scatter's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Maybe Nancy {The Manager} is trying to keep the Mongers at Areca, and send the families to Mind Resort. Great idea i think, the looks we get from Farang Whales at breakfast when we stagger in with two or more BGs,is enough to put you off your Cornflakes, just. Ned -
Gees, what a question. 99.9999999% of us come here to be molested by Thai Girls, and you want to be ALONE. Maybe you should try Outer Mongolia for your next holiday. Ned

Mind Resort - Boutique Hotel in South Pattaya
Ned Kelly replied to Scatter's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I was staying at Areca in March, and chatted to a few Swedes who were staying there {Mind Resort}. They said it was beautifull, but a bit far out of town, even though there is a complimentary Mini Bus. I sent them an email,to see if there was a joiner fee,and they refred me to the web site, which had no info about over nighters. Give it a few months to settle things. Ned -
This Is Thailand,my friend. But i will bet you one thing,he cooked your eggs perfectly,as he always does,,and they were cooked in front of you,not pre cooked. Ned.

Csoday. I would grab the deluxe room at Areca for sure. The Executive room is bigger{And overated in my mind},but the deluxe is more than adequate, with safe, balcony, bath, etc. The main thing about a hotel anywhere in the world,is its service and facilaties, Areca passes with flying colours in both. The LK Metro have nice rooms, but the pool is tiny, and VERY noisey, and very impersonal, Areca has TWO pools,a gym,TWO saunas, grerat breakfast, and the staff are brilliant. Dont exclude Areca, just because of the lack of an executive room,i would never stay anywhere else. Ned

Get down to Arecas breafast if you can,its bloody great,no need for lunch after it. Eggs cooked on demand, bacon, toast,Thai food, fruit Etc. Its also a great perv at Falangs with there overnight cuties. As far as tipping goes, there is a tip box on the counter,if you feel inclined. Joe is the guy in charge at breakfast, get to know him,he always let me take some fruit up to my TG,who naturally was still sleeping when i went for breakfast, tell him shes sick in bed. The TGs love the breakfast in bed bit. Ned
