Scumbag

On the posting page the surrounds of the check boxes are white. I use IE and suspect that the boxes should be another colour. It just doesn't look right.

The forthcoming calendar events on the forum index is no longer in chronological order. I like to watch myself progress up the queue.. I also don't like the way the smilies are displayed on the posting page. I find it difficult to find the one I want due to the height of the box. The box doesn’t fit on my screen.

You mean that you get a condo and a TGF for 12000B?... That is hell of a deal..... The obvious question is where do I find one of these 'gorgeous TGFs.'... But seriously now, thanks for the information. I look forward to getting contact details.

I realise that and it is my one concern about with that particular condo. That is the reason that I am also looking elsewhere in Jomtien. Owen, I agree with the Big D, you think too mutt!!...

I have been in the building and seen the inside of a few of the condos. Granted these were for sale but they where very nice, particularly one for 1.9MB. I haven't seen the insides of any of the ones that are for rent. I have spoken to a guy that is renting one of the condos and he is happy with it. The building has very good security (access by card only), a large pool and a gym. The condos are rented directly from the owner. Like I said once I have had a look and made my decision I will do up a bit of a report.

Thanks for your comments everyone. My main concern before posting was that I had not considered an area that is equally or better than Jomtien. That does not appear to be the case. I have a lead on a condo near Pattaya Park that costs 10K a month with no contract. I am thinking that this would be a good option to start with. I'll have a look in 2 weeks at the condo, take some photos and post them with some details. I'll also be looking at other options. Frank, we'll have to discuss a sponsorship deal if you want a place to stay when you come to Pattaya. I promise that I won't sub-let while you are away. I keep loom just for you....

A while ago I posted a thread asking about rental condos. I have a couple of contacts from that thread that I will be following up. I guess I asked too much at one time and an important part of it didn't get answered. So I'll have another crack at it. I will be arriving in Pattaya in a couple of weeks. I will be searching for a rental condo very soon after. I am after ideas of where the best places to rent a condo would be and what the pros and cons of each area are. At the moment I see two options: central Pattaya and Jomtien. I am leaning heavily towards Jomtien at the moment. Central Pattaya would be convenient but I think it would get to me after a while. I think Jomtien would be a good place to live just to get a rest from the hassle and bustle but perhaps transport might be a bit of a pain in the arse after a while. So what are people's opinions on the various areas?

I agree with BigDUSA here. You should post who you had trouble with to warn others. I will be doing research on rental properties in Pattaya within the next week. I would really appreciate knowing who to stay away from. If you don't want to post the name could you please PM it to me and I will not post it. I do have suspicions of who it might be..

It doesn't look like anyone has any information to share.. It looks like a few people are interested in the same thing. I will be doing some research while I am there later this month. Once I leave Pattaya (that makes me sad just writing that!) I'll do a little report on what I learn. I have contacted a couple of people and received offers of help so things look good. Apparently at the moment there are lots of vacant condos. I have been told that they start getting snapped up in September. BTW the reference about getting flamed was aimed at a couple of members who think I post things just to wind them up. OK, sometimes I do just for fun. Those people know who they are... It wasn't aimed at all BMs.

I know I am going to get flamed from certain members for this thread but they will have to get over it... With a bit of luck those racked by jealousy will not find their way to this forum. I am seriously considering renting a condo from the 1st of September. I would initially like to take on a 6 month contract. Price range I am looking at is 10 - 12K but I am prepared to pay up to 15K for a nice place. At this stage I am more interested in general information but if anyone has specific information that would be appreciated too. Information I am after are things like - what locations are best and ones to stay away from - recommendations for particular developments - what I should expect for that sort of money. - other costs involved - problems to look out for - issues with taking a lease in Thailand - security, as I will be away at work for about half the time - and anything else you think would be useful I will be in Pattaya from the 20th of this month for 10 days so I will be having a scout around.
