Soi 13 and Sandy Spring vs The Inn

Recommended Posts

The last two message on the above have gotten off track....so for those interested.

There is construction durring the day but the only hotels that would be affect are Ma Masion for sure and possibley the Dynasty noted by another poster..cant confirm but from the outside seems reasonable.

The Sandy Springs is a great hotel clean, huge rooms, and decent ocean views from the deluxe seaside view rooms.

The Inn is clean with smaller rooms but also cheaper. You can get a two room suite for 50bhat/day more than the deluxe room at the SS. If you are renting by the day or week then the rooms are cleaned daily, and there is no charge for elec or water, BUT if you are taking advantage of their dramatically reduced monthly rate then there is a charge and the rooms are only cleaned 2x's but can be cleaned daily for an extra 200bhat. Also they dont have CNN only Fox so if thats a problem for you, you should stay at the SS.

Either way you cant go wrong they are deffinately the two best in the area on a low traffic street inbetween Soi 8 and walking street.

Enjoy

Travelingfox I was just about to reply about the Inn, I have never stopped there but last time I was in Pattaya at the SS I done a room check and got some rates of them, I still have them and you are right about the cleaning etc. As I was More interested in the monthly rates I didn't pay much attention to the daily or weekly rates so after a quick check I can see where I went wrong. But like I said surely if your staying at the Inn for a month you would have to pay the extra to have the room and linen done daily (you cant bring a TG back to a bed with snail marks all over the sheets can you) so Baht wise are you better off than the SS after paying the extras?.

:D

Mike,

What kind of discount does SS give for a month?

Chees,

I think Sa-teef has got pretty right, I didn't know about having to supply your own towels at the Inn House tho.

These rates were offered to me as well but only if you buy a membership card which cost another 350 Baht/year. Not much, but I hate membership cards I have to pay for!

That is not true if you book thru the scandibar site and even if you don't and you quote there rates you will get the same.

Mike, and what is this please?:

Dear sir

Thank you for your e-mail.  You can join the member of the hotel and you

will get the member rate.  The member rate for the deluxe room is 1200

baht/room/night.  The member fee is 350 baht/year.

Please, confirm your reservation and your check in time.  We are looking

forward to serve you.

Best regards

Nuansri Phanichphakdee

I did not know anything about the ScandiBar discount when I wrote the mail to them (which proves that even experienced Pattaya visitors like me don't know everything B) , that is why we have boards like this) but if I get an info from the hotel like this I go on to the next. There are enough!

Hi guys im staying at ss right now and its all fine im really happy about it nice rooms nice people good internet connection room service 24 hours and room cleaning every day if you want that, and if you bring guest to your room the front desk girls take the girls id card and smiling at you and say have a good night i will be watching out for you and then she smiles. and about the construction on the other side of soi 13 is no problem today all i heard was a hammer for about 5 min.

yup you can book with the scandibar without a deposit they dont ask for one.

they just ask that you hounour the booking,or you have to pay them for one night.

so if you do use the scandi bar stay at the sandyspring. no multi bookings and decide where you will stay on the day otherwise we will all have to pay up front

with our cc,and i do not really want to give my cc# out too often

Does anyone know if the Scandibar.com website allows reservations without requiring an up-front deposit with one's credit card?

Not yet, but they might start doing that soon as they had a few no-shows. Which made problems for them. If you by any chance change your mind about the booking, be a sport and let them know in good time.

Sure thing! It's the least you can do when you're not even required to give a CC# or a deposit. I made a reservation at the SS for November. Got my confirmation today at the Scandi Bar - rate (Bt1190 for a double with seeview).

Chaps,

Not only that - you also get one free draft carlsberg a day from the Scandinavian Bar if you book through them!! 1luv

So, why have all of us members joined? Beats me. I will demand a refund of my 350 baht the next time I'm there - plus interest of course 1luv :D

I really like the Sandy Spring and can't recommend it highly enough. All the times I've stayed there I've had good service and felt very comfortable.

It has many faults - no security as the guards fall asleep, no breakfast, no gym, no in-room safes - but all in all my favourite hotel in Pattaya.

Cheers.
