Displayed prices are for multiple nights. Check the site for price per night. I see hostels starting at 200b/day and hotels from 500b/day on agoda.

I know this has been discussed before, but I cannot seem to locate it with the search function. I think someone mentioned that the best prices for DVDs are available at the local market off of Sukhumvit road in Pattaya. Please correct me if I am off base here.

I found the DVD Dealer at South Pattaya's Tuesday - Friday market the best availble here.

Go East on South Pattaya Road, after about 700 Meters on the left Side is the entrance to the Market. Go East, staying on the right Side, and up till the end. There is the shop in one of the shophouses.

Prices are 120-130 for regualr DVD and 180 for DVD9.

The guy there knows his stuff, and can tell you about the Quality. Never had problems there, and if the copy is faulty, he exchanges it.

Opposite this shop, in the market, is a good Music CD and DVD shop, as well.

If bringing back to states, make sure they are NTSC, not PAL. Look on the back. I got stuck with 6 PAL DVDs that I can't play....

If you've got a decent computer you should be able to play them there.

Thanks for the tip! I will be sure to get the NTSC variety. I am going to bring my Cyber Home CH300 DVD player (portable) so I can try all the DVDs before I bring them back. I copied down the "hack" to set the player to "all regions" so I should not have any problems. I have a dvd player in my laptop (a Dell 700m), but I have heard stories about how it is set to the region for the first 2 or 3 DVDs that you play. I plan to be a little more careful with that one.

Thanks for the information everyone.

Socalguy, you might want to check out AnyDVD, a nice progam allowing you to set the Region Code as often as you wish on your Computer. Works great!

Also take care with evaluation on NTSC versus PAL Discs based on your Mobile Player; most Players these times are good for PAL as well as NTSC. So, in the case you definitely cannot watch PAL Discs at home (but better check out the Manuals for your Home System DVD Player and TV, as most of the units shipped in the last Years are good for both systems!) you might be still unlucky back home although the Disc worked at the Mobile Player.

Again, check your System on the PAL Issue before you leave home!
